Which astrological infuences indicates one more prone to being picked on? Almost as if they've invited it, but they don't, and they don't appreciate it one bit.

I would think it would have to do with the 7th house aspects. Because this is the house of one on one relationships and open enemies. Maybe with Mars in the 7th in a bad aspect to Pluto or Uranus?? Or maybe harsh aspects to the 12th house.....I belive that house has to do with hidden enemies.

Not sure, but I think Pisces would be the sign most likely to get picked on.....Virgo too...... I guess there's much more to it though. But I would say the seventh, twelfth and also the ASC plays a part in it. And I'd bet the person's Mars would be in a weak sign or in detriment.

Good question. You've got me thinking.....

Also, someone with alot of planets in the first house might get picked on, seeing as they probably have a stronger more diverse personality....or mask that the world sees. It may make it harder for them to get along with others. It could set them up to attract negative people to them, if the planets were in harsh aspects. People could act out the person's first house planetary energies, if that person was holding them back in some way. A person with Pluto in the first may attract alot of Plutonian type people to them, for good or ill.

And the seventh house planets show the type of partners....and maybe people in general you attract. So you could also look to that house to see what type of energy you are attracting from others.

I was thinking along the lines of rising planets and aspects tot he ASc that would make someone appear either vulnerable or threatening.

I have Pluto rising, which tend to make me seem threatening to people who have soemthing to hide or something to prove, so growing up I got picked on a lot. Also Pluto rising makes someone a bit of a loner, and a loners are easy pickings for bullies.

Since I was talking about Elliott Smith's chart, I add this: he had his moon on the ASC, and appeared very vulnerable even as a grown adult. He claimed he got picked on while in iddle school and such, which doesn't surprise me.

But exactly what AJ, I don't know what would make someone like that - although I know the type. I'm not like that - nowadays, people who don't know me would be careful to not pick on me, cos I emit that charming Plutonian "Don't f*** with me" vibe in styyyy-le (you know it), and those who do know me don't see me as someone to tease like that. However, my a**hole Leo-Aries brother does, but he's suffering from serious arrested development. He might as well be a Reesus monkey and be sent to a medical research lab.

From 'About a Girl' (alt. lyrics) by Kurt Cobain:

"Don't pin a note to me,
I do promise to agree,
I do live in constant fear,
I do wonder why I'm here...

"And if you say your prayers,
He'll hang you out to dry,
but I can see you ever night,
free."

Kurt was picked on a lot as a kid.
He had Pluto (12th) and Uranus (1st)
Conjunct the Ascendent.

I agree with you about it most likely involving Asc. aspects GN. And I know someone with Pluto in the first conj. Sun who was picked on terribly as a child. Really harsh.

Gem - I have always related very much to Elliot Smith. I too have my moon on the Asc and have always appeared vulnerable to everyone around me and I got picked on very badly in school, all the way up until I graduated. However, these people were completely clueless to my Mars in the 7th house with a bunch of not very nice aspects to it.

I just read something about my mars sextile MC which made me very unhappy and it kind of goes along with this topic in a sense: "the men in your life have more power than anyone else to tear you down and make you feel bad about yourself."

Oh, I also have Pluto Square MC, which apparently makes it easy for people to take advantage of me unless I make it very clear that I will work on my goals at their expense.

Hey VTT,

I'm a Mars in the 7th houser too. Mine squares Uranus.

I was never picked on for some reason. But all throughout 6th - 9th grade I only had one friend. I was that really quiet weirdo kid. Then suddenly after 9th grade I had a ton of friends and came out of my shell. I still dont know why they didnt pick on me. They picked on my geeky friend mercilessly. Not so much when was with her though. *shrugs* There is definitely something that people ....give off...?....that attracts the people that pick on them I think.

26t, i was like that in school too. Middle school I just hung out with a bunch of girls but never felt very close to them. then 9th-12th grade I only had one close friend. Once I got into college that fall after 12th, I started being miss social. very weird!

Well, here. Let me post my chart because I am someone who has always been singled out, picked on, whatever you wanna call it.

In school, I was always bemoaning that the teachers didn't like me and that certain teachers would pick on me. And they were really picking on me, they really were. The weird thing is, all my teachers either adored me, or hated me. I was never an anonymous face in the classroom.

We moved when I was 8 too, but until I was 8 we used to live in this enormous old Victorian house... in a very working class neighbourhood. My family has always been very house proud, so it was immaculately maintained, but we weren't rich. So on my block, I was the spoilt little rich girl, even though I wasn't rich. I did have a lot of toys and stuff, but only because I was an only child of two very flighty, divorced, and supremely self-absorbed parents, so my grandparents and everyone felt bad for me... Bt not because I was so rich or whatever. It didn't make me very popular. I was always in tears because the neighbourhood kids resented me. I remember this one kid... He was so revolting towards me. I would go home from the park if he showed up because he would somehow turn everyone against me until they were literally taunting me into hysterical tears. I don't even remember what they would say, but I just feel sick with dread even thinking about that particular kid. I must have been about 5 or 6.

In high school, I had older girls who wanted to beat me up because "she thinks she's so good"... I didn't even know who they were! Apparently I annoyed them with how I would walk around with my hands in my pockets, lol. At least by then I didn't take it so personally. I thought it was funny (as long as they didn't really beat me up, lol... which they never got around to doing).

People have also told me things like "you just have a face I just want to pick on! i just see you and I want to pick on you!"...

It was the bane of my childhood and adolescence really. As an adult, I feel it occaisonally when I feel a negative vibe directed towards me for no reason... But it's easier to deal with as an adult. I just don't care anymore if people don't like me for no reason. I can't change it if I haven't offended someone or hurt them or done anything at all to them, but they just decided not to like me or give me a chance. All I can say is "whatever" and move on.

I have pluto in the first house too.

Here's a link to my chart if you're interested: http://mojico.org/my_chart.jpg

Kurt Cobain - a sad, troubled Pisces

I didn't get picked on, but I know others who did. And they weren't Pisceans as far as I know.

Aquarian Girl -

Wow! Almost everyone has Pluto in the first here, or something similar. I wonder if having a NN in the 12th House would contribute ...

Anyone else have NN in the 12th?

But looking at your Chart, it surprises me that you got so picked on. I've had people say the same thing to me though, about, just looking like someone who it would be fun to pick on.

i was picked on horribly when i was a kid. i think it had to do with saturn ruling my chart combined with a virgo moon making me shy. i think kids just picked up on the fact that i had no self esteem and being triple earth, i was not the life of the party. like too shy to dance, ect.

in high school i got a mean, sadistic streak and picked on others. scary.
i've always felt as though i have power issues. like leaning toward s&m stuff or sadistic stuff. i wonder if it's cause i have mars and moon in 8th combined with venus in pisces and mars in libra swaying back and forth beteen masculine and feminine or moon opposed my venus. sometimes it's like a victim savior energy. almost scorpio like. like to take you to heaven i have to take you to hell first. i'm just sick!

AJ... most of my experiences are very... black or white. I have really really great things that have happened to me, and really awful things too. Kind of like what I said about people either hating me or really warming to me immediately... I think it has a lot to do with that Pluto energy. I've had a lot of good things, exciting things happen to me too. It hasn't all been terrible. But I have been picked on a lot

Like what a new friend of mine said a few years ago, face screwed up in amazement, "you really cop a lot of sh*t , don't you?" LOL.

I think I get a lot of crap because people always seem to think I have this great life, when really I don't. It attracts resentment. Kind of like with the kids in my neighbourhood. All they could see was my big huge house and lots of toys and a family that doted on me... But what was really behind all that? Guilt and over-compensation, because of my sh*tty parental situation! Even nowadays, people I grew up with see me as this glamorous figure that has travelled all over the place and done this and that, who knows what they think, but really I lived with a control freak for two years who made my life miserable! LOL!

You have to laugh *shrug* What else can you do?

Hmmmm ...

I see more interesting similarities and possible connections.

Seems like a prominent Pluto or 8th House thing, plus I see a Virgo and possibly Cappy influence thrown in there too. I don't have anything in my 8th, but I DO have a strong Scorpio/Pluto, Virgo & Cappy influences.

Aquarian - I know what you mean. I too am an only child and had to deal all my life with that stupid "oh you must be so spoiled" comment. I did get to travel a lot too, but I was never rich. But to this day, I'd trade in every single material thing I ever had for a more loving and understanding family. I do know ...

OMG I got picked on a LOT at school.. and i was never very good at sticking up for myself either. i always was able to see the other person's point of view more than my own, which didnt help. (Im a bit dumb like that). I realise now it was my stupid pisces moon that made me do that!!!

Ah Ha!

There we go with that Virgo again!

And I know what you mean about seeing the other person's view before your own. I think it's partly the Mutable quality of both the Virgo Sun and Pisces Moon.

Like with my Venus in Virgo, I can go to great lengths to understand someone until I realize it's futile. My Pallas, which is supposed to be your "battle style" is in Pisces in the 10th - I'm not naturally a fighter, and I cannot stay in any work environment with strong "political" struggles. Pisces is NOT the best placement for Pallas :::

"Pallas in Pisces:

You are the Warrior Goddess who protects our dreams. Your talents are poetic, visionary and spiritual and when brought into the world allow us to visualize a realm that lies beyond the mundane and mind oriented. You utilize unconditional love and acceptance to problem solve and work through outer issues. You resonate with the music of the soul and the universe and strive to fight for its place in our lives."

Do any of you know where your Pallas is? I'll post YOUR "battle style" too, and maybe learn something ...

My Pallas is in Aquarius in the 12th House and I think I was the poster child for being picked on. :P

My Sun is in Virgo in the 7th House. My Pluto is in Virgo and in the 7th House too, as I've read that Pluto is supposed to represent abuse of some kind. And I have Saturn and Chiron in Pisces in the 1st House, which I think may have greatly contributed to my picked-on status as well. For some reason, from the 1st grade until I graduated high school (and even beyond), people seemed to love to hate me. Even some of the teachers! And for no reason at all aside the fact that I was breathing the same air. When I was 6 years old and in the 1st grade, there were a group of teen girls on the school bus who took a sadistic delight in harrassing me. And no matter which grade I was in, there was at LEAST one person (but usually a group) around to bully me and make my life miserable. And I was always very quiet and shy and not good at defending myself either. I would just sort of withdraw into myself even worse than I already was as my home life wasn't too good either. It didn't help matters that I was usually the only redhead in the class. I guess that unfortunately made me stand out. :P I blame it on my Aquarius Rising! lol

There we go again. The Virgo & Pisces influences. And I see a bit more Aquarius similarities being brought forth. I've got Aquarius/Uranus influences too, in aspect as well as my MC in Aquarius, and my South Node (which is in the 10th with my MC).

"Pallas in Aquarius:

You defend the defenseless, the underdogs and the hidden. Your creative intelligence and practical wisdom is progressive, unique and spontaneous. Your artistic and visionary talents are likely to be found in an expressive modern style or a very antiquated style. You could have empathic gifts that focus on the mind and thought processes. Your courage is found in your unbound optimism and belief in the equality of all."

Your Pallas is not confrontational either ...
