So, I'm seeing a couple of guys and I noticed something very odd about one of their charts. Question: is there a name for this phenomenon? And what does it mean?

His first house of personal identity, symbolically represented by the sign Aries, is actually IN Aries.

I counted and he has like, FIVE houses are exactly where they should be. (Not *one* of my houses is under it's proper symbolic sign.)

Well? Does anyone know? I once heard it called a "double dignity" but when I did a google search the term was almost unheard of.

Hmmm. I realize maybe no one is responding is b/c they don't know. Let me explain:

The twelve houses correspond to the twelve stages of life- from birth to old age.
Each one of these life stages/houses is represented by a sign.

Example:
1)First house= selfish newborn infant = Aries
2)Second house= the gifts you came into this life with= Taurus
3)Third house= learning to talk and communicate= Gemini

And so on.

No- I don't mean his ascendent is Aries. And I'm not talking about the planets either. I'm not being understood. (A typical Aquarius complaint.)

It's okay, b/c I posted "Life stages of the houses" a few minutes ago which should make it clear. Or so I hope.

If his ascendant is Aries (or late Pisces), that means, the first house (representing the infant of the zodiac.. etc....).... Would be in Aries.. it's proper place in the chart.

Where are we misunderstanding ??????

LOL!

I dont get it either......

He has Aries rising. Of course he would have all the other signs on their respective house cusps. What's so special about it?

My son also has Aries rising.. though it is in the late degrees.
Therefore, his Scorpio Moon and Venus and and and and... (He has five Scorp planets) all fall into Scorp's natural house ..... Eighth.
I think you are just misunderstanding, or underestimating.....

He is not an Aries rising. He is a pisces rising. And I have never seen anyones chart who had so many houses in their appropriate sign.

I, for instance, don't have one damn house in it's corresponding sign.

What I want to know is, is there any particular interpretation for when someone has their house in the appropriate sign.

Sorry LeylaLeFey, I get you now.

I know that these are called "natural houses". And when a planet falls in it's natural house it is accidentally dignified and strengthened as a result. But I dont think Ive ever heard of a name for when the houses fall in their natural houses.

I'll see what I can come up with though.....

A double dignity would be a planet that is in its home/exalted sign and in its home/exalted house.

Like Mars in Capricorn/first house
Capricorn because of Mars exaltation and the first house because Mars is home there.

another example Moon in Cancer in the second house. Moon is home in Cancer and exalted in the second house.

Pixy- I know you said late pisces. I read you the first time.

LaLa- I'm confused. Why would you say cancer belongs in the second house? From the classes I've taken it's natural place is the fourth house. Are you reading by a different house system?

It's because the Moon is exalted by Taurus. Which rules the second house. The moon's home is the fourth and ruled by Cancer. But it is exalted in Taurus. So it is strongly placed when in the second. The moon's fall is in Scorpio and detriment in Capricorn.

Planets posited in the opposite sign of thier home and exalted houses, would put these planets in their fall and detriment. It would weaken the planets somewhat, not being in compatible houses, you have to look at everything though.

Being in Fall or Detriment...not too positive, is it?

I have these.
Virgo Mercury in 12th house.
Scorpio Pluto in the 2nd house.
Gemini Moon in the 9th house.
Sagitarian Mars in the 3rd house.

The only planet I seem to have in its home would be Libran Venus in the 2nd house.
