Taurus Venus is very romantic, loyal and affectionate, and Aries Venus is more impulsive and often doesn't take commitment seriously.

I think you sound more like Venus in Aries, but it's hard to tell with the ascendant. Do you favor moving? Cancer ascendants like to stay in one place most of their lives, if possible.

I had a similar challenge since I am very close to Sag ascendant, mine is Scorpio/12th house. I had an astrologer go over this with me. I still act like a Sag because my Mars is Sag/1st house, but my impulses are mainly Scorpio.

Your first house, which rules your self, can be a different sign than your ascendant. My sister has Aries rising, but Taurus 1st house. She is shy, even with an Aries rising and Sag Sun. She work for a bank, and doesn't chat much.

I do actuallly favor moving, a lot more than I would staying in one place for a long period of time. I've moved arround heaps throughout my life and it's never bothered me, so I think I like change. If that's contrary to cancer asc then I'm leaning towards Gemini.

my mother was also in labor fornearly 20 hours. i'm wondering if there is anything to this because i do identify with both signs but physically i look more like a gem asc. thin body, long fingers, toes, high cheek bones, wide forhead..hmmm,

same here totally...I have a long face, long fingers, and I'm thin. The things I can relate to in cancer are the emotional side of it, cause I care a lot about the people arround me to the extent I really feel like I can sense their emotions. If they're sad or angry or if something's wrong I can usually pick it straight away, and I get a massive urge to help them somehow. But the other day I read a description of Moon in the 8th house, which is where my moon is, and apparently that has those same traits, so it might not be the cancer asc

the cancer part i feel is concern with my personal security as well as my emotional nature, and yes i sense energies very well. in fact, it is a curse some days. i can also identify with cancer risings oral needs. i need something in my mouth always gum, water, cigarette.. in school it was pencils, erasers, paper, and straws..

however i have 5 4th house placements, so there could be an indicator there for my sensitivity and home loving qualities.

thanks for bringing up your situation. It helped me to understand this a little better, because i have the same thing. I know my exact birth time, so thats not the issue.. I have Scorp Asc, but its all 12th house...1st house Sag. The part that makes it confusing, is that neptune is RIGHT there.

And, with the idea about a long labor...I have always wondered about this, because I was yanked out with a forceps. So, in a way, I was forced out (maybe) before I was supposed to be... I wonder how that affects a chart? I wonder if I should have had the outlook of a Sag Asc....

its all very strange and wonderful, isnt it?
