Have you ever met anyone with no Water in their Chart? I mean, I'm including only Sun thru Pluto, plus Asc & NN.

I really got to study one "real close up" and there is no way he could relate to me outside of the playground, although he tried.

I've got 4 Water influences, 5 in Earth. He had only Fire & Air - NO Water or Earth. That seems so rare to have no Water or Earth!

I've got no Earth in my chart. Mostly Air (5 including my Asc.) , with a little Fire (4 including Chiron), even less Water(3).

my husband only has neptune scorpio! he, admittedly, is unemotional and unintuitive. sometimes i look at us and think WHY..?? because we are so different. but the truth is karma. both have what others are lacking.

Libra, maybe you could help me with my 3.5 year old. she has no earth except for a sn in cap. she was recently excused from her montesorri school for not conforming. she has 6 air, 3 water, 3 fire. the girl can't sit still. everybody loves her, but she distracts other children constantly.

anyway, i'm without fixed sign placements and only 2 fire, nep and nnode sag. 4 air, 3 earth, 3 water, so i'm just as screwed in some respects. i have an interesting family dynamic. at first glance very unharmonious.

I've got no fire in my chart. Nada. Only points, no planets whatsoever. That probably has something to do with me always being inexplicably attracted to fire signs? Anywho, ya, only two earth and no fire in mah chart...

Water signs are absent in a number of my family members. So is compassion, kindness, forgiveness, understanding, sympathy....*sigh* Since I have a Pisces moon, this seems to account for a lot of why I can't get along with them and they are constantly writing me off as a little drama princess they don't have to take seriously. I have mentioned before that many of my family are mean, vindicative, petty, self-absorbed people? A lot of Fire and Earth.

And of course, both Fire and Earth are in little supply in my chart, and what little there is causes problem with relating to earthy or firey types. I swear I was born into the wrong family. Here's my chart is anyone wants to take a looky: http://www.astro.com/cgi/showgif.cgi?lang=e&gif=achart_028fileTX7Ci 0-u1095796646.62189.22315.gif&res=63&va=

What I have with earth is this:

- Saturn at 29.7 Tau, but also conjunct Gem Venus, so it acts like an air Saturn and not an earth Saturn
- ASC and Pluto in Virgo: here's all the earth influence in my chart, which simulatenously attracts and antagonizes a lot earthy people, because Pluto acts like earth singleton in my chart, and Pluto singletons are a mixed blessing. They attract people of integrity and honesty, but alienate anyone with something to hide (like most of my family). Like an Uranus singleton (which I also have) Pluto singletons have an uncanny knack for seeing to the truth of matter and through other's BS. And people that seem most threaten by me are earthy people, in particular those with something to hide.

As for fire:

- Just my Neptune, which is technically a fire singleton. But because it's a not a fire-ruled planet, this is problematic. All of my fire influence is here, in my imagiantion, intuition, creativity and related passions. It's wonderful for me creative-wise, but it isn't always something more action-oriented firey people can relate to.

I think personally, I miss having more fire infleunce than earth influence. I don't mind the lack of earth, mainly because I get enough earthy vibe from my 6th and 10th house. But I do miss the fire influence - it seems something I critically lack, and I notice this by how productive my relationships with fire persons can be when I find one I click with.

Gem, it's interesting your Jup/Sat opposition. traditionally, Jup/Sat are considered polar opposites.

I'm wondering about your family situation and how it relates to your chart. Do the family issues stem from your paternal side of the family?

I also have deep family issues, resentments, and feel like i was born into the wrong family, however, i have 5 4th sign placements. You on the otherhand have nothing in your 4th.

Also, I can now see why you have a strong bond with Piscean types. ie. your descendent in Pis/ moon in the 7th.

she is quite the little ring-leader, but incredibly bright. she challenges me beyond anything i have ever experienced.

i'm now putting her in an arts pre-school. in which the primary focus is drawing, painting, & music.

it looks like I have nothing in my 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 9th and 10th house....

what does that mean.....?

Sun Cancer 08 direct
Moon Capricorn 02 direct
Mercury Gemini 07 direct
Venus Gemini 07 direct
Mars Libra 11 direct
Jupiter Scorpio 11 direct
Saturn Libra 11 direct
Uranus Sagittarius 12/1 retrograde
Uranus is technically near the end of house 12 and is interpreted in house 1.
Neptune Sagittarius 01 retrograde
Pluto Libra 11 stationary (D)
True Node Cancer 08 direct

gloria, im not 100% sure, but my "twin" (my sister missy) has no water in her chart. might be one reason why i feel like she's on a totally different planet than me sometimes (though i myself have only 1 water sign, my sun in pisces - it's a pretty significant, however, and i do have a loose conjunction between my moon & neptune). i do know she has sun, moon, merc, mars & venus in aries. im pretty sure her outer planets arent in water, either.

gem nymph, your mars conjuncts my venus exactly. im sure i knew this, but your moon conjuncts my sun, too. you also have the same major aspects between sun/moon & pluto like me, but in reverse. your sun squares (mine opposes) pluto and your moon opposes (mine squares) pluto. neato.

Good idea lovely*. She probably really needs an outlet that allows creative freedom. I'm sure she has her own way of doing nearly everything

chrissymgreen,

I'm confused. If she's your twin, wouldn't your charts be virtually the same?

oh no, librasparkle, that's why i used "twin" in quotes. she's 6 years, 3 days, 12 minutes apart from me. missy believes we were meant to be twins, my mom actually went into labor with her on my 6th b-day party at around the time i was born (7:11 at night). gloria knows this because there was some other thread around here where i mentioned this. i also mentioned how we have our own secret language like twins do, and how we're often mistaken for one another (facially we probably could be twins - i have photos up at lindaland's photo shop).

My sister has only one water planet, Mars in Pisces, but I like her for her level headedness. We do not get emotionally entangled into arguements, unless they are about other people with lots of water.

I do not know anyone right now with no earth, I did know one person, my best friend before she died with all Fire/Water, no air or earth. Great person, very loving and friendly with the best intentions.

Those with no earth or water in my life are usually women.

lovely - no, actually with my father's side, I really didn't know anyone, and most are dead now. Cancer killed most of his family and his father died of pneumonia when he was a child. All I have on that side are an inlaw and a cousin that I don't think I've ever met. But as for my dad, he's emotionally withdrawn and nonpresent. He has trouble dealing with anything emotional, so I can't talk to him about personal stuff at all. He's a Libra with Sag moon and Cap rising - he's not horrible, just very dysfunctional - "void of course" LOL, like my Saturn.

The nasty people are really all on my mom's side, and I include my brother in this, because he's so much like them it's scary. My maternal grandfather, an aunt and an uncle were all deceased before I was born, and from what I gather from family stories and their astro data (all Pisces Suns), they were the "nice" ones in the family. Judging by how they died (respectively: stroke in late 30's, drug addiction, and probable suicide), I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the family simply destroyed them - afterall, they nearly did me.

I have nothing but my Part of fortune in my 4th. My resentments are based more in a sense that I'm 1) appalled by the behavior and conduct of my family and 2) that they've actively and passive-aggressively held me back from doing what I want ot do with my life (in other words, they want to see me fail, so they feel better about themselves). These aren't really 4th house issues, but 1th, 6th and 10th house - which are the houses of my grand trine, conveniently. ANd also, to a fair extent, 7th house issues, because essentially, many in my family have acted like "open enemies" to me.

Actually my 4th's a weak spot, because of my t-sqaure on the other side of the chart. In a way I don't care - I don't what to start a family or anything that means "taking up residence" in thsi world. I want to simply pass through and not leave much behind. Once I took the chakra test at Tickle.com, and my lowest score was for the 1st one, the one relating to home, family, and sense of belonging. it was pitifully low - like 0.7 or something. LOL. My highest were for the 6th and 7th - 9.5 and 9.7. Interestingly Neptune singletons tend to foster profound mystical and intuitive awareness of higher truths and of transcedence, but also feelings of alienation and not belonging in this world. That's how I've always felt - like this world was for others but not for me, that I see this world in a way that's incompatible with actually being able to live peaceful in it, and I'll have to move on (transcend) in order to find the "world" in which I belong.

I'm almost all Water and Earth: 6 planets in Water (if you count Chiron) and 4 planets in Earth, with only 1 in Fire and none in Air. My mom has a lot of Air and Fire and only 1 each of Water and Earth. She thinks I am too emotional, and I think that she's not emotional enough. She finds it very hard to cry, and I cry too much. lol.

I think a person who has a lot of Water and Earth in their charts are very much in touch with their emotions. And the person who lacks both are quite good at detachment. Sometimes I wish I had less because I am tired of always feeling things so deeply.

gemini thank you for your explanation. you seem very aware and resolved with your familiy issues. i on the other hand am not i guess. i chose to block them all out of my life, as they are/were dysfunctional.

by the way i also have a neptune sag 6th house singleton as well as jupiter pisces 9th house singleton. is it possible to have TWO singletons?

ps. do you believe your (apparent) strong interest in astrology and self analysis is due to your neptune singleton?

also gem, your saturn jup opposition stuck out for some reason, i have the trine which also applies so i have studied it, as it's still considered "contact":

"the contact between these two planets, which are neither wholly personal nor wholly transpersonal, may suggest an attitude of fatalism or, at the very least a sharp dichotemy between intuitive perception and practical observation which tends to muddle the issue of free choice for the individual...."

" in its most basic interpretation Jupiter-Saturn contacts symbolise a choice between teh faith which stems from an intuitive recognition of purpose in life, and the fear which stems from identification with and consequent control by forces of ones environment. The squares and oppositions are associated with a kind of see-saw temperment which swings between the extremes of hopefulness and despair, and after the aspects to Venus to Saturn these are the favorite choice of suicides."

"The contact of Jupiter Saturn appears to suggest the psychological neccesity of transforming this faith into practical living so that the individual can live out what he intuitively senses to be the purpose of his life"....

It goes on to mention "great bouts and or swings of depression"..which certainly applies to my own life on a smaller scale.

by the way, excerpts are from "Saturn, A New Look at an Old Devil" By Liz Greene

Yeah you can have more than one singelton - I have three - Neptune, Uranus and Pluto. If I use equal house, I have four. That's why i stick to Placidus - that fourth one would be my mars, and Mars singletons are trouble (and that Mars of mine is trouble enough! LOL).

Here's what defines a singleton:
- only planet of one polarity (masculine/feminine)
- only planet of one element (fire, earth, air, water)
- only planet of one modality (cardinal, fixed, mutable)
- only planet in one orientation (personal, social, universal)
- only planet in one house type (angular, succedent, cadent)***
- only planet in one house orientation (personal, social, universal)

***some astrologers don't count this one as these house types have fallen out of practice with some contemporaries, but others do

Here's a site with good articles on singletons (it's been posted around here several times - it's an old fav): http://www.astrologyclub.org/

I think my Neptune singleton has played some role in my interst in astrology. I have several aspects in my chart that suggest I would be interested in occult things and astrology, particualrly in later life.

As for self-analysis, I think that's more my Pluto and Uranus singletons (with help from an introspective moon). All my life, as long as I can remember I've been asking "Why do people treat me so badly and so unfairly, even when I try my best to be nice to them?" - that's Pluto there, that sense of alienation, persecution, "hidden" enemies or agendas. Strong Plutonian personalities like me make people have an instant reaction to you - they like you or they don't. If they don't, they find the PLutonian vibe, that vibe that says "I have the power to reveal your true self" threatening, even if they aren't aware that's what they're reacting to. Trust, growing up and seeing people were threatened by me but not understanding what I did "wrong" was very confusing and forced be to look at myself for answer (no one else was providing any). I NEVER understood this until I studied astrolgoy and Pluto specifically. This is compounded in my chart by Pluto being my rising planet, in the 1st and conjucnt both Liliths.

The questions I've been forced to ask throughout my life that are related to my Uranus singleton are things like "Why do I see things others don't?" or "Why do I think/see/understand in ways so different from others?" or "Am I an alien or what? Why doesn't anyone understand/believe/listen to me????" The uranus singleton turns everything on its head and inside out, and can pick up things and see possiblities others are simply oblivious to. A lot innovators and visionaries have this signleton (like Einstein) - some very good astrolgoers have this too. It's great for the inner genius and expansive leaps of intuition, but horrible relationship-wise.

Yeah stuff like that is always so affirming. LOL. I know abut the fatalism, and the conflict revolving around free will, and the despair, and the suicidal ideation....and seeing my Sat's conjucnt my Venus, does that make me a double-likely candidate for suicide???

>>"The contact of Jupiter Saturn appears to suggest the psychological neccesity of transforming this faith into practical living so that the individual can live out what he intuitively senses to be the purpose of his life"

Yeah I can dig it. That could sum up my entire existence in some ways. LOL.

Thanks for posting that.

Watch out for those Venus singletons,
I have met a few, and they all these strange desire for selective hearing and vision, that is they see the world they want to, not how it is. They prefer the world to be a better place, which is surprising when you are used to dealing with reality.

I have nothing bad to say about the singleton, it can be very pleasant, but it's a shock to your system at first.
