I thought this was interesting: http://www.findyourfate.com/astrology/diet/astro-diet.htm

Some of the things it said about Geminis I know is very right on, like we really need potassium chloride (without taking a supplment I get bad leg cramps and problems with circulation in my legs) and should avoid caffiene (ha! we should, but that doesn't mean we will LOL *Gem Nymph takes a swig of her Diet Coke*)).

I like that is says I should avoid grains with an excess of air signs - grains do a number on my blood sugar.

That's so neat! A lot of the things it says about Virgos is true for me. Intestinal issues, worrisome about health. What we should eat makes sense for me as I have some of those defiency symptoms and the foods to solve that problem are a lot of dairy and well, I cannot eat those.

However, chocolate doesn't cause upsets for me

I also read about Taurus and health, since Taurus is really strong in my chart, and a lot of that does apply to me as well (lots of sore throats for me this season).

wow, that is neat. i have 4 fire, 3 earth, 2 air and 1 water...(just counting the 10 planets, no angles)...so assuming then i have an excess of fire, i guess i should avoid red meat and spicy food. the meat thing is no big deal, but i love spicy food. unfortunately, since my skin is sensitive sometimes i get hives. ick. but it says i should eat grain (and root veggies)! i should eat grain?! i already have birthing hips. i do love tomatoes, though. i go through about $20 in tomatoes a week (easily 5 pounds or more). guess that's good.

im just depressed because i worked really hard this week on my diet (we have a weight loss pool here at work going), and i didnt lose anything. blech.

Hey GeminiN,

Great website!!! Funny, but it seems that I really do already subscribe to many of the diet tips. Seems my body knows what it can and can't have - such as gravies and fatty foods (Sag Sun / Venus in Sag).

My Taurus LOVES gravy, fried food, chocolate..etc.. I limit my intake and substitute whole grains, veges and of course fruit..But, I do eat chocolate now and then as well has drink beer...

Again, I have to watch that because if I go over my alcohol threshhold it hits me very hard AND I am sick for days- my liver just takes a hit.

I drink tons of water and only eat small meals because I hate the feeling of being full.

Glad you guys found it as interesting as I did. I can relate a lot to the Pisces recommendations too, especially about the bloating issue - I'm the bloat queen. LOL. And that about Pisces and anemia - I never heard of that! That was incredible. I was born badly anemic, and it's been a life-long problem for me. I have to take iron supplment during my period and eat red meat regularly.

Another thing that hit home with the Gemini stuff was I have trouble with nutrient absorption, and like it says Gems should, I have to take enzymes and other supplments to aid absorption. And I do have to take a LOT of calcium - my mom has the same problem and she's a Gem/Gem. We nervous Gemmies use up so much calcium with our nerve function that it drains from our bones and other cells.

I have Virgo ASC, and I do have problem with my skin breaking out from food intolerences, and especially chocolate! Fortunately for me, I don't like chocolate that much...unless there's almonds involved...almonds apparently are good for Gems, so I just that's an acceptable exception.

Daaaaaaaamn.

It said Aquarius rules the circulatory and nervous systems and so is prone to problems with blood pressure and tension.

I have suffered from low blood pressure and hypertension all my life.

Ooooooh, pity the Scorpios:

"Scorpio natives are prone to problems and infections of the sex organs. Skin eruptions on the genitals, cystitis and diseases of the urinary tract, and venereal infections are ailments to which Scorpios are very susceptible to."

My best pal has Scorp moon and has frequent yeast infections and she gets bad urinary tract infections from time to time. I've had a yeast infection ONCE and an urinary tract infection ONCE, and am immensely grateful for that. UGH!!!

I'll have to tell my pal that they recommend Okra to Cancerians, as it's good for their stomach - She's a Cacner on the Gem cusp and she looooves okra.

its says "virgoans love chocolate"... nope, not this one.

gem, i have some aspect in my astrology which makes me prone to sexually transmitted disease. i don't recall what that is.. maybe pluto mars conj? and astrologer pointed it out.

like you, i've been blessed with only ONE and ONE also. *touch wood* i have an aries girlfriend who has chronic yeast infections and often gets them with a UTI. her chart is filled with mostly fire, i wonder if there is a correlation?

I knew an Aries guy who had some weird rash going on down there for the longest time, and I guess it's possible there's correlation since the ancients saw a strong connection between Aries and Scoprio, as they once co-ruled mars.

And if that aspects is indeed Mars conjunct Pluto, that would make sense too - but I've never personally heard of that.

gem, interesting you mention mars and scorpio. she has only one water element in her chart. nep in scorp squaring her aqua moon, and she has mars in aries 8th house.

there must be something to this.

Yeah, ok, if that's her only water sign, then that's a singelton and would be focal point in her chart, for better or worse.

I have a Neptune fire singelton in Sag...lemme take a lookie...interesting - accoriding to the sight, Sags need physical activity and can become ill without it (that's me), gain weight in the hips and thighs (what woman doesn't? LOL - yeah I do, but in a weird way. I've never had saddlebags or a pumpkin butt though - praise Jesus - I get fat on the *inside* of my thighs and around the hip points, so when I gain weight *nothing* fits right). Also it says Sag get hip problems (I've got arthritis in one hip already in my early thirties - I have to exercise or it's unbearable), and may have sensitive livers (yeah, that's me alright!). Weird.

This site is so cool! But first....

*crossing legs*

I have YET to have any downthereproblemsasinyeastandUTIinfections, so let's not go there. Ill health to emotional disturbances? Yes. Sinus problems? Oh yes. I had my tonsils removed at the age of 23, along w/the adnoids and uvula (no punching bag, no rolled r's. ) The tonsils were about to explode... I was having 4 to 5 doctor monitored sinus infections a year up till then from high school. Ugh! I also have untreatable hand eczema, atleast through a real MD. Eating big meals is a no-no here also.. but that stems from a family history of Barret's esophagus. (acid reflux eating up the flap in your throat) so I eat 6-8 times a day.

What makes me giggle though is the part that Scorpios look old when they are young and young when they are old. When I was 16 I took my 12 year old brother to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. The pharmacist asked me if I was his MOTHER. Hello. Now in the past few weeks, I have actually been told a few times that I look to be in my early to mid twenties. Kick butt! Considering I just turned a certain decade last weekend, this had made me VERY happy!

gem i have that singlton sag neptune also and gain in the thighs..during heavy phases, they rub together when i walk.. but my hips are anything but shapely, very narrow. so when i gain weight i DO get that punkin butt but fat thighs which tend to become larger than my waist AND hips. thunder thighs are genetic in my family though. also, i have hip problems, i pinch the sciatic nerve which affects my entire left leg.

what is interesting is kabala teached the left side of the body is the spiritual receptor and the right side of the body is the giver. thus when spiritual blocks occur ailments on this side of the body occur. just another angle. our mercurial mental needs absolutely need excercise. i've been a mess lately and of course..have not been to the gym in three weeks.

lovely,

yea, i *hate* retaining water the way i do. i mean, i can easily weigh like 3 or 4 pounds more while im bloated! it's depressing.

a g-friend of mine from college, i love her, she has so many allergies it's not even funny, so she's a total health nut, she recommends dandelion supplements. ive tried taking them but since im so lazy and forgetful sometimes (i have an awesome memory when it comes to visual things, phone numbers, names, the like, but when it comes to routine habit or where i put my keys last night, forget it) i havent noticed any significant benefits.

she's also suggested alfalfa tea, i think, which ive never tried. if i recall correctly, she says that also helps with circulation...which would be good for me because my hands and feet are always cold. and when i got get a physical, like i did yesterday, and they have to take blood, they have to stick me like FOUR times before they get anything! (my veins are so thin and deep and basically dry.) i tell them to take it from the back of my hand but they never listen and always try the crook of my arm 2 or 3 times which makes me cry (the jabbing of the needle around in the vein to find the blood hurts most). i dont know if anyone else here has this problem; have you heard of trying alfalfa tea? has it worked?

sincerely,
c

Chrissy. Yuck -alfafa tea...yeah tried it, It's like making tea from hay. It's concievable there's a blend out there with alfafa in it that's bearable but I don't know of one.

I like these two teas, both from Traditional Medicinals, called Female Toner and Weightless Cranberry. They both help with bloating and circulation problems. Anything that cleanses toxins from the blood will help with circulation and toxin/water elimiation too, things like red clover, chicory, ginger, licorice, dandelion root and parsley. Those can be found in a lot of good medicinal tea blends out there. Cayanne and garlic are very good too, and you can take these as supplements are just add them to your diet. Even just drinking a glass purified water with about a tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice in between meals, or first thing in the mornign adn right before bed, helps circulation by adjusting the blood ph level so blood flow is better and toxins removal is easier. Just be sure to rinse out you mouth with plain water afterwards because the acidity of the lemon juice can harm your teeth enamel after while.

And of course, 81 mg of aspirin a day helps too, as long as it doesn't interfer with any other meds you may be taking.

Hmmmm ...

Looks like they may be on to something on that link. But I got confused when it had one thing for a certain Sign, and then the complete opposite diet advice for if you were "low" on the Element of that same Sign.

Word to the wise -

Once you start eating healthy, and ESPECIALLY if you take herbs or tea daily to sweep your system, you'll be in touch with your body's needs.

An astrologer once told me to look for saturn in cancer for bloating and water retention. I am under dr's supervision for water retention and if I quit my pills I'm easily holding at least 10 lbs + of water. And contrary to what most people tell me, drinking more water doesn't help, as my cells are unable to absorb the water properly and therefore the water stays in the blood, causing the bloating.

I'd be interested to know how many of you have Saturn in Cancer?

Lemon/Water is great for bloating,
in fact that's my favourite.
Saturn in Taurus with soft aspects to the Sun, and Pluto, and Jupiter, I tend to get bigger all the time, instead of taller!

My weight is incredible for being totally out of control, up down, all around. Too many trines, I think. I'm not big, but I fluctuate.

Lemon/Water is the least harmful, adequate exercise is important too.
No salt, or sugar, as these cause bloat.
That is what I have learned,

Take Care,

Natasha
