Hi,

My hubby and I where on this astronomy website, checking out all the constellations.

The site says that due to the precession of the Earth on its axis, the way we see the constellations from the Earth is different then how they where viewed 2,000 years ago. Therfore, Aries was seen during the Spring Equinox 2,000 yrs ago but today its Pisces that viewed at the S.E.????

This is interesting and brings questions to my mind. Doesn't this mean that Pisces should be regarded as the first sign in the zodiac? If so, then that would change every Sun sign placment for everybody? If not, then why doesn't astrology move the classical placements to fit the current astronomical placements? Lastly, am I born on Dec 7th truly a Sagittarius according to classical astrology or is my sign based on whatever constellation is viewed from the Earth on Dec. 7th?

I am really puzzled/intrigued, greatly appreciate clarification....

Think about the hands of a clock. If the clock runs slower over time, the hands after a time will not be accurate.

Like the hands of the clock, the constelations marked the points of the zodiac at the time they were first plotted and studied. The constelations were not responsible for the affects then, and as they changed physically in the sky have not altered the original zodiac points.

My 2 cents
