To get an accurate chart you would have to go to a professional astrologer who specializes in Rectification charts.

Otherwise you would have to rely on a Solar chart. Which just takes the person's sun sign and uses it as their Rising sign. It wont be accurate. This is how astrologers come up with generalized Sun Sign forecasts. So if you want an more accurate forcast when you read the horoscopes in magazines and whatnot, read your Rising sign's forecast.

Do some research if you need to find out your birthtime. Call the hospital you were born at, they keep records.

If it's for someone else and you decide to erect a Solar chart, dont rely too much on it. It wont be too accurate, the houses will be all off and you cant be too sure of the exactness of the planet degrees, especially the Moon.

Look into someone who will Rectify a chart for you, if you really want to know.

* BTW, the person who the chart is for would need to give the info to have it rectified. No one else could do it for them. Because the astrologer relies on significant events in that person's life, while looking at transit and other chart factors to come up with the correct chart. It's not something that another can give - accurate info to the astrologer. It has to come from that person.

This is a very time consuming process and must be done by a professional. Hard work.

... and if you're in a hurry, use "Noon" for Time.

Alternatively, if you don't want to have someone do it for you, there are books that contain info on how to rectify birth time.

I think one of them was Everything Astrology Book.

Great advice guys.

But I'd be careful about just reading through descriptions and trying to figure out someones birth data that way.

I know that if alot of the people I know - that know me really well - if they were to read through the signs and choose one for me, it wouldnt be Taurus. And if I were to guess people's signs by their actions or personality it most likely wouldnt be accurate either. And I'm only talking Sun sign here. There are too many other factors that come into play. Moon sign, Rising, not to mention aspects and houses. People do make accurate guesses sometimes but for the most part astrology shouldnt be a guessing game.
