I have an astro question that's always bothered me since I had the chart done. If there are 12 houses, why is my chart missing information for the 3rd, 7th, 8th, and 9th houses? Does that mean I am somehow lacking aspects or is everyone likely to not have some houses listed in their chart?

does that make sense? I hope it does. Thank you in advance for any answers.

here's my info below:

Geocentric - Tropical - Koch Houses

Moon - Leo - 2nd house - 01º 35'
Sun - Taurus - 11th house - 25º 09'
Mercury - Gemini - 12th house - 17º 00'
Venus - Cancer - 1st house - 07º 38'
Mars - Pisces - 10th house - 26º 28'
Jupiter - Aries - 10th house - 13º 40'
Saturn - Cancer - 1st house - 15º 21'
Uranus - Libra - 5th house - 29º 25' rx
Neptune - Sagittarius - 6th house - 10º 51' rx
Pluto - Libra - 4th house - 06º 45' rx
Node - Sagittarius - 5th house - 01º 00' rx
Midheaven - Pisces - 10th house - 11º 31'

Not sure what you mean. Perhaps you are referring to empty houses....houses that contain no planets, nodes, fortuna, etc. Everyone has to have at least one--usually more than one--empty house, assuming that you use the standard 10/11 planets. Even with Chiron, which I use, there are still not enough planets to go around.

Even empty houses have at least one sign and that gives them meaning. It is said that the empty houses are areas of life that have less emphasis during this lifetime--like no major lessons to learn (or teach) around the subjects associated with the empty houses.
I feel that, in general, these are areas where we are "caught up" or even ahead of schedule in our spiritual development.

Thank you Rev. Alice, I did mean empty houses.

wow, that is a wonderful explanation. I was always curious if there were some lucky souls out there fortunate enough to have every house full. Thank you again for the information.

The method we pass along here for those "empty" ones is, to look at the Sign it's in, then look to the Ruler of that Sign, and see what House & Sign it's in.

Example:

3rd House empty - in Sagittarius >
Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter >
Jupiter in Chart is in Capricorn in 9th House

Did that help?

Sorry, I missed this earlier.

Thank you Astro junkie,

it's not really clicking right now. i think i'll have to figure out which sign the "empty" houses are in and then continue from there. please bare with me, i'm obviously still learning, lol.

dear running bull,

if you use astro.com, you can find out what your house positions are.

we already know that your AC (ascendant) is cancer and your MC (midheaven) is pisces. make a little chart for yourself after visiting astro.com so it'll be easier to see:

1st (AC) - cancer 2°; saturn, venus
2nd house - ______ xx°; moon
3rd house - ______ xx°
4th (IC) - virgo 11°; pluto
5th house - ______ xx°; uranus
6th house - ______ xx°; neptune
7th house - capricorn 2°
8th house - ______ xx°
9th house - ______ xx°
10th (MC) - pisces 11°; mars, jupiter
11th house - ______ xx°; sun
12th house - ______ xx°; mercury

the '______ xx°' i used up above is just to indicate what is called the house cusp, or the sign that rules that house and what degree it's in. the 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th houses are angular houses - they are also referred to as the AC (ascendant), IC, DC (descendant) and MC (midheaven). i have listed the planets next to the houses they reside in. but remember, each house has a house cusp or sign, ruled by a particular planet, so that is important to consider - this is separate from where the planets fall in the houses. make sense? for instance, your 7th house has capricorn on the cusp, which is ruled by saturn - but saturn is posited in the 1st house. this would tell you something about your 7th house - see? the 7th house represents your partner, among other things. let's have another example: the 8th house rules sexuality, among other things (think of scorpio, the sign it is associated with). the planet that rules the sign that is on the 8th house cusp and what house it is in says a lot about who you are attracted to. in your case, let's assume that aquarius is on the 8th house cusp. aquarius is ruled by uranus, and your uranus is in the 5th house. do you find yourself attracted to creative, dramatic people (leo types)?

i hope this helps you.

Thank you for the information chrissymgreen,

let's see if i get it...

3rd house in Leo 14°48'42
7th house in Capricorn 2°04'27
8th house in Capricorn 22°48'25
9th house in Aquarius 14°48'42

so that means ...

3rd house in Leo which is ruled by the Sun, My Sun (in Taurus) is in the 11th house (house of friendship)

7th and 8th house in Capricorn which is ruled by Saturn, My Saturn (in Cancer) is in the 1st house (house of self)

9th house in Aquarius which is ruled by Uranus, My Uranus (in Libra) is in the 5th house (house of pleasure)

er, i'm lost after that. maybe it will make more sense after the retrograde. Thank you again.

right, you got the hang of it!

"3rd house in Leo which is ruled by the Sun, My Sun (in Taurus) is in the 11th house (house of friendship)."

so the 3rd house of communication has leo on the cusp ruled by the sun, which is posited in the 11th house - you have an affable style of communication much like an aquarian (the sign associated with the 11th house) - this is true, no?

and you are quite welcome.

sincerely,
chrissy

Thank you Chrissy, (if that's ok to use)
i must investigate this further, it's fascinating. this whole time i thought that for instance when people mentioned the 7th house and love, that i simply did not have those aspects in the chart. it's wonderful to find i indeed do. thank you very much.

and i have been know to communicate quite well on occasion... just not during this mercury retrograde.

Thank you again Chrissy and yes Astro junkie, she deserves a hand and a teaching certificate.
