I just realized that because my ascendant is Libra, all my houses are ruled by their opposing signs.

For example, the natural ruler of the 1st house is Aries... and Libra is my 1st house ruler.

Or Gemini is the natural ruler of the 3rd house, and my 3rd house is ruled by Gemini's opposite, Saggitarius.

I know that in relationships, opposites attract, but I wonder how this plays out in a natal chart with house rulership? Is it complimentary? Or does it create conflict/duality of some sort?

What do you think? Any insight appreciated.

That's a hard question to answer, so it's interesting. In my experience it creates a personality which a fixed identity, that does not conform or mold to other's expectations easily.

Any others?

Wow - that IS interesting.

I think you may be on to something there. Either that or someone who is quite open-minded, or who enjoys constant change.

What do you think Aqua Girl?

Personally, I think that would be quite a nice situation to have, and I don't think it would cause a person to be conflicted at all.

Their "me first!" House says "us first"
Their "my values" House says "your values are important to me too"
Their "mundane communications" house says "lets' not forget the big picture"

etc...

I think it makes a person that much more balanced, in each area of life, as represented by the house subjects.

Besides that, Libra rising is just so good a weighing things out and coming to reasonable conclusions, that they would tend to seek a happy medium in all areas anyway, and strike a workable balance. This is the ONLY rising sign that could handle this sort of chart with ease. Makes perfect sense in regard to what Libra is all about, huh?

Well... I'm not sure what I think about it I guess it would give you a complimentary balance on everything, as Lioneye said, wouldn't it? In each house you'd be motivated and urged in two directions that provide a balance... relevant, not entirely out of place and but different enough to tip the scales and ensure an even keel I suppose.

I'd never seen that pointed out before, that Libra rising will have each house ruled by it's opposing natural sign and it seemed like such a striking revelation at the time, I wondered if there was anything I need to know about it, any issues, etc

I guess a good thing about Libra rising is that I am good at seeing both sides of everything, very diplomatic, it's easy for me to put myself in the other persons shoes, very considerate... I can always see the "big picture"... well, almost always

This opposing ruler in each house thing ... I think I see now that this is probably a big factor in how I'm good in the ways decribed in the above paragraph... Which is what a Libra rising person usually is anyway, right?
