in progressed charts...
i've heard of the day for a year.. but i'm not sure of the details of how it works..

if i want to progress to when i'm 26 years old, and my birthday is jan 1, would i calculate a chart for jan 27? birth place is still the same?

anything else i should know about trying my hand at this?

That is correct add your age to your dob then calculate with same time & place .
