I'm NOT a vegetarian. But then again, my Sun is an Air Sign, but my Moon is not ...Do you know any people who have BOTH their Sun & Moon in an Air Sign, and are they vegetarians? IP: Logged |

Well I have an air moon- Gemini, and Im not a vegetarian. My Dad is a Sun/Moon Libra and he isn't vegetarian either. My brother is an Aquarius- Cappy moon and decided to be a vegetarian, I know a Virgo- Aqua moon woman who is very vegan and constantly goes on about it...lol. Funnily, noticed a few Fire moons who are vegetarian!!? My cousin decided to be a vegetarian a couple of years ago: Cancer with a Leo moon, the rest of her family aren't, and she feels quite strongly about it, my Uncle's the same, hes an Aries- Sag moon, a Scorp- Aries moon guy I know has been one all his life and firmly believes in it. Archer it will be really interesting to find out their sun/moon signs!!

i am not a vegetarian - i love sushi too much, but i have a water sun (pis), fire moon (sag) and an air AC (libra). i have a lot of friends who are, though (especially all of my austin friends).one girl has a fire sun (sag), water moon (pis), and an air AC (aqu). another girl has a fire sun/moon (leo), and an unknown AC. and then i know another girl who has an air sun (lib), a fire moon (aries) and an earth AC (tau). those are the only people i'm really close to who are vegetarians. i have other aquaintances who are, but i don't know their information. i'll check, though; this is an interesting topic. off the top of my head, i would think strong virgo influences or a lot of 6th house (health) placements would be predominant, but i have a 6th house sun, mercury, and chiron, so i don't know about that. good post!

Thanks for the feedback. So far I see no patterns having to do with an Air Sun & Moon. And since the Virgo or 6th House influences was brought up, and there was a "nay" on THAT - I'll add -I have great sensitivity for animals and tried to be a vegetarian once, but can't. The Houses I have the most Planets in are in the 4th, (on top of having a sensitive Moon in Cancer), and the 6th (on top of having Venus & Pluto in Virgo) ... No vegetarian here ... so ... hmmmm ... I wonder if it has more to do with Nurture than Nature ... the way we were taught about food? IP: Logged |

Dunno AJ, about Nurture vs. Nature. My family was filled with serious meat eaters. Every meal had meat and/or a meat product. I am the first, and probably only!, vegetarian. ghani, astrologer debbi kempton smith would agree with you about the 6th. She calls it the food box. The sign on the cusp, and whatever planets might be in there. I have Cappy on the 6th. Among other things, she says cold food is bad for us...we like hot comfort food. Very true. I do like fresh fruit but generally, I like my veggies cooked. At home when I make salads, I love to steam some broccoli or cauliflower to throw on top of it, just to make it warm. I don't think I am cut out to be a completely raw food person. IP: Logged |

I dont eat meat. (triple earth)My mother is the most health conscious person out there. She is usually only eats raw food. Always organic, never meat. Has more vitamins and drink powders, does juice fasts....everything....than anyone I've ever met. Her passion is holistic health, the mind/body connection. She's a Cancer/Cap Moon and Rising. We both have a Gemini 6th house cusp. And Venus placed right on our cusps. IP: Logged |

But I'm not seeing any leaning towards being a total vegetarian and the 6th House. So far, it seems to make one more conscious of what they eat, perhaps more of an interest in healthy foods and supplements. But the vegetarian thing, it's totally standing on it's own head here. For me, I'm very interested in nutrition and holistic health, but I don't go overboard, although that's relative. I take several herbs, drink lots of water, get lots of rest, and frequently REMIND MYSELF of what good food REALLY tastes like and how it affects my body by going raw once in a while. I believe in cleansing, and some forms of fasting FOR MYSELF. I'll aim for one SMALL portion of meat a day, about the size of your fist, is a good measure. So it could be fish, chicken, beef - usually require a small piece of steak "once a month" - I was anemic when I was younger. I'll also supplement my brown rice by stirring in an egg, rice milk, a little olive oil, and either slivered almonds or cashews. But it's not even completely out of nutritional needs that I eat meat. I eat it because I crave it - and when you're eating healthy, it's good to rely on what your body craves, which for me, includes what I think would taste good at the time as well. IP: Logged |

Even though I don't have an Air Sun or Moon, (have an Air Ascendant though) I once made a go at being a vegetarian as I love animals so much. Needless to say, my vegetarianism didn't take. In fact, it lasted one whole month. lol IP: Logged |

hhm..air sun/fire moon veggie here. I have a lot of air in my chart.. This is an interesting thing to think about. The only other vegetarians whose chart I know- water sun/water moon. I will start researching this! Do you think Taurus/2nd house would be involved with food? IP: Logged |

Hi AstroDouble Libra here and I was a vegetarian for nearly three years with very occassional 'lapses' where I would have chicken or fish on a meal out but this was rare. I started eating meat again a few years go but even now I tend to just stick to fish and chicken. Interesting post - may I ask what the inspiration was for this question. Ive not come across this before? IP: Logged |

Good idea, whiterabbit!!That's certainly worth looking into... I think we have similar charts. Do you have a Leo moon? Just curious.. I've noticed in several posts that your planets are kinda like mine... do you mind if I ask what your astro stats are? Thanks! Ghani IP: Logged |

soulsista -Because I think some of the fanatical-type vegetarianism is unfounded in any real logic, but more a lifestyle people seem to adopt. It's weird, the vegan's is it? - who don't drink milk, won't eat an egg. (I'm sure I'll hear it now) ... And I actually had NO theory on how it would connect astrologically, except maybe the Fire Signs would be more Grrrrrrr! Eat meat! I don't know. But I'm NOT letting this one go so easy. And right now, in the back of my mind, I wonder if it is either a complete aversion or complete congruity to how one was brought up. It's like, the "meat" represents something, it's not really about the "meat" per say ... that's what I'm pondering. And then trying to understand that psycholgically will help us to attribute it most accurately to astrological influences. So far I'm convinced it is NOT a Virgo or 6th House thing. I'm considering that it may be a Square Aspect of some sort. An ideology the person is working through within themselves. Now, that's NOT to say there aren't true blue vegetarians out there, and that they aren't healthy or happy. But that some people take it on more as a lifestyle rather than because of what their body is really CRAVING. Know what I mean? I'm just exploring this as we go along. IP: Logged |

I have a lot of Libra in my chart, my 6th house is empty and I'm most defintely not a vegetarian. Although I do think I probably eat too much meat in general and need to cut it back. IP: Logged |

i'm a vegetarian (will be 8 years in just over a week), and have sun/merc/mars in aquarius in the first, conjunct. to me, this makes sense re: my choice to not eat dead animals. my will/thots/actions are in alignment, and i'm humanitarian (animatarian too!), with an extra kick being in the first!IP: Logged |

Sparkles -That's sort of along the lines of what I was starting out with. But with all these posts already, of people who are not Air Sun & Mooner's - unless - it's more of an Aquarius thing? IP: Logged |

hey, yeah.. it seems the pattern may not be with air signees, per se, but it would make sense that aquarians would be more apt to not want to eat meat.. and possibly even pisceans? just because maybe we're more sensitive to suffering, and aquarians especially would want to make it all better! only speaking for myself, and from my limited (esp today) brainspace!maybe you could poll aquarians, since i've known quite a few, and it does seem to be a pattern, in my experience.. hmm.. astro junkie.. re: your second to last post, it is vegans who will not consume (or generally use) ANYTHING made from even the most trace amount of animal parts. i respect this choice deeply, and have considered becoming vegan myself, as i liken the depth of their (percieved by me, but scientifically supported..) suffering to that which i would feel were aliens to land and feast on my children and friends. i am wondering what exactly it is you find odd about that choice in particular. there is no clear evidence that says that humans require meat to survive and be healthy, and i am alive to prove it! as for nature vs. nurture, i don't really feel that the way my parents cooked for me had anything to do with my choice to stop eating animals. i recall, from a young age, being perplexed and guilty at the thot that i was eating this chunk of stuff that used to be a living, breathing, loving animal.. it just didn't make sense to me; seemed to be a gruesome convention. i grew increasingly more sickened by it, and could even *taste* the suffering somehow, and right before my 18th birthday decided to quit. i knew no vegetarians personally. it was just a choice that felt right to my conscience. so there is my long winded reply to that question! although i'm sure famlial eating habits often play a part with many other vegetarians, and meat eaters alike. i *rarely* get meat cravings, and cannot see myself ever giving in. there are certain meat substitues that mimick the flavour and provide sufficient protein to fill that craving.. and in any case, i could not look at a picture of a young calf grazing again without feeling remorse. their living conditions alone (on factory farms anyhow..) are deplorable and downright cruel, and i could never support that industry. hope i don't sound preachy.. i'm really tired. i gave up trying to convert people long ago. but i am passionate! and hey. the animals can't exactly speak for themselves. i am not vegan, however. i do eat (freerange! and organic if i can afford it) eggs, and rennet-free cheese. no cow milk, tho. there is SO much crap in that (course the dairy industry wants to hide this.. and peddles its way into peoples homes by claiming it is NECESSARY to healthy bone development. ugh. well, actually, it causes more health problems than it benefits with its calcium.. which is easily attainable throo many green foods etc). whew! did i answer your questions IP: Logged |
