I HATE my rising sign, I just HATE it. Honestly, it puts me in a mood to kill. I HATE the way I ALWAYS end up seeming to people- of course because of the stupid way I end up ACTING. Do I care what people think? Yup, I guess I sure do.
I hate that the first words people would use to describe me are "silly" "funny" "cute" "flaky"
"unthreatening" "sweet" makes me want to throw some of my mars in scorpio venom at them....grrr..and at myself...the stupid "myself" that I am when in pretty much any company. Does anyone else hate their rising sign this much?

Hey Whiterabbit I can sympathise. I'm also a Libra rising along with venus libra in the 1st, so I know! Although I'm mostly an introverted person this aspect has made me feel obligated to be very social. Alot of people, before getting to know me, have assumed I was a little silly or flakey. Then of course at other times I'm more true to my Scorpion ways and can be very quiet, shy, and cautious. I welcome both these facets of myself now. The Libra rising used to frustrate me a lot and it still does now and then. I feel like I talk too much or flirt too much and sometimes come across as wishy washy. I really beat myself up about it because I'd wished I hadn't been so extroverted(Libra) when I feel more safe being an introvert(Scorpio). It's all about finding a balance and that's where the Libran influence is most useful! Just give yourself a break... we are all still evolving into our best self!  IP: Logged |

know what you mean whiterabbit! actually thats how people describe me and I'm a Virgo rising(at least I think so long story)  Combine all of that shy and reserved and you have the way I come off to people. Then I'm a Leo..a total and complete Leo with people who know me well and thats the way I feel most like myself. Passionate, exuberant, warm, dramatic, and yea proud sometimes too. So I curse my Virgo rising sign for working against me. Ugh let me know if you think of a way to overcome the rising sign influence.
If it makes you feel any better, I actually wanted to be Libra rising because everyone usually loves you and your so sociable.What do you want people to see you as? Mysterious, exotic, smooth? IP: Logged |

archer I didn't mean that having virgo rising made me stubborn, I meant its influence over me is stubborn..persistant. i was refering to everyone's rising sign. So you don't mind having Virgo rising as a Sag? Do you ever find it hard to assert yourself and be a sociable Sag??IP: Logged |

I also have Libra rising and Venus in the first house (and Im a Scorp lol) and I completely agree with what you just posted!!!
I sometimes (in uncomfortable social situations) act all silly and sociable and sometimes say really dumb stuff, and then after it Im thinking "Wtf!! Why the hell didnt I just stay quiet!!!"
Definatly feel safer being an introvert in those situations, and its best when you have a good balance between the two.
Im kind of the opposite to you in how I come across at first, I feel really shy and quiet at first, and then when I feel safe Ill be myself!! A lot like LeoSweetHeart!
And hey, dont you find people will be like "Wow! I didnt know your so mad/funny ect" when you let your real side come out!! But yeah! I know what both of you mean!! I also hate the way some people take advantage of the giving tolerant Libra side, and are nasty or rude to you, and you (or me anyway) feels that I cant be rude back or put them in their place ect!!! Its so frustrating!!! Its like even if they've been nasty, I still find it really hard to create more disharmony and hurt their feelings back, or adress whats upset me.
Its a tough one!

 I'm a Libra Sun, Venus in Leo. People would probably say most of those things about me as well. I don't know about the unthreatening part though... not that I'm threatening. I'm forward. Straight up... shoot from the hip. I don't avoid conflict. I prefer to deal with it head on and get it over with. Some people (womanizing men particularly) tend to be threatened by it, but it seems mostly to gain me respect. As far as silly, funny, cute, and sweet... I like to be all those things. That's what makes me happy.... silly fun  Which brings us to flaky...  Guilty as charged. I'm pretty flaky. The only place I'm ever on time is work. I drive my friends nuts sometimes. But... eh. Hi SunScorp! Yea I'm mostly shy at first too with aquaintances... unless I've consumed a few drinks then I'm just a little social butterfly lol
when I get too out of control with my socializing, sometimes I think "I'm about to slap this girl if she doesnt shut up soon"
I also have Pluto in the 1st (Scorp) so it's really a tug of war between being introvert and extrovert. I feel like I'm always trying to pull off some balancing act, sometimes I'm actually succesful. Us scorps can be so critical though, so maybe no one even notices this minor trait we get so disgusted with! It's just a little quirk afterall!IP: Logged |

Yea Sun Scorpio thats exactly what happens when people get to know me! They're like whoa where have you been hiding your funny, chirpy energetic side??! Seriously I always get that.Libra Sparkle  You sound like you have a good balance between sweet, silly, and outgoing and assertive at the same time. Thats awesome I guess its good if you have a fire or air sun to have a fire or air asc, but maybe water or earth signs would feel more uncomfortable attracting people like that. IP: Logged |

I hate the astonished look on people's faces when I suddenly say something intelligent. I hate when people say this (I get it ALL the time) "Do you ever get angry/sad?" "Is it possible that you dislike ANYONE?" What the??? lol..YES YES YES..of course. Hello. I am a human being. I experience anger. I experience hurt. I dislike some people. I live here on this planet Earth, along with you (most of the time).
I definitely know what the two scorps mean about being more comfortable as introverts, even though you have that other side too. It's just SAFER sometimes, no?
Archer-- haha, thanks..but I don't know if I buy it (is ANY sign the BEST? probably not...alhough I'd love Sag for some reason..or Aries...something fiery)
LeoSweetHeart- in my experience a Leo can't hide behind a rising sign or pretty much anything else, for that matter.. 
Libra Sparkle- yes you sound very *balanced*

You know, I don't mind being a Libra rising, I figured it was chucked in there to keep all of my scorp (sun, merc, neptune, venus) and my fiery Aries moon under control - well, hey at least balanced, right???I find that it is in my work environment where I am often misjudged. I remember a couple of years ago at a work party - a work colleague suggested that a friend drive me home (because they thought I'd had too much to drink). At that stage, I'd only had 1/2 a glass of wine. He'd not seen me in a social situation before. How interesting that the scorps in this thread have defined themsElves as introverts. I definitely get my energy from solitude. Is it a scorp thing, do you think? Because we are so secretive? quote:

Yes, that makes sense because life is a journey. We are here to learn lessons. We know we will always be there for oursElves. So it is natural that we would finetune oursElf and make adjustments along the way. It has been written that all qualities (the ones we admire or dislike in others) are within oursElves. However, we don't recognise it in oursElf because we repress the ones that we don't like and don't acknowledge the ones we do. So, whiterabbit, I'm guessing that there is something about being a libran asc that you haven't accepted about yoursElf yet. Sag rising is pretty bad at being wishy washy too, worse than Pisces. I mean if you want to talk doormat...Socially I am always under the gun to be the socialite but the brassy one, not the sophisticated one. I know a lot of Libra risings and especially the men have it bad, because it's hard to act tough when you smell sweet!I sympathize, but i hope you find more sympathy and empathy on your side soon, people can say the rudest most hurtful things in the world and can't even see the concept of love. It's a selfish world to you, but you are unselfish and that's wonderful. My first love was a Libra rising, you probably touch a lot of people much more deeply than you know, Natasha

Yeah, I'm a Scorp with Libra rising too. I think Libra is a lovely sign, don't get me wrong. But for a Scorp to hear, time and again, that they come off as "sweet" and "innocence" and (this was my favorite) like a "kindergarten teacher" is HELL ON EARTH in a way that maybe only another scorpio could truly understand.5 planets in scorpio and I look "innocent" ??!! A close second is when you're in that Scorpio-like transcedental state, perfectly at piece, I mean, peace - all your Chakras are open -... and then some azz you don't even know gets into your face and tells you to smile. Wow alot of people have the same problem!! We have our very own support group thread hehe!!  Thankyou Whiterabbit!!
Seems to be Earth or Water with Air risings, and Fire with Earth risings!!
(And quite a few Scorps w/ Libra rising troubles!!)
Hey Scorpbaby!! I have Pluto in Scorp 1st too!! Thats weird hey!! And I definatly sympathise with the over-critical side, especially on ourselves, and its true often other people dont notice (hehe we hide it so well) when we say we have a problem w/ something its like "You DO!! I had no idea..." Lol!!
