I have Sun, Moon and Merc in Virgo, but do not fit the description as far as hardworking goes. I am rather lazy and have trouble getting motivated. What other planets play a part in this?

None of the Virgo's I've ever known were 'lazy', if anything, they bent over backwards doing things for other's...

I'm a Virgo with my Mercury, Uranus & Pluto also in Virgo and I am also lazy and hate working too. Although I get fatigued very easily which causes me to lose my motivation for working. I don't know what astrological aspects causes laziness, although I wish I knew. Perhaps a retrograde planet in the chart may be the culprit as retrogrades supposedly have weird effects on the planets. I have a retrograde Chiron & Saturn in the 1st House, with both of them opposing my Virgo planets of Uranus & Pluto. And as Saturn is supposed to be the planet that represents hard work, maybe it being retrograde gives it the opposite effect.
...But of course I'm just guessing.

LOL all the virgos I know are lazy. They also have a problem stacking things.

Check the aspects.

I'm a Scorpio with Cap rising. I'm supposed to be motivated as hell, but, with Venus closely conjunct my Sun, and both squaring Jupiter, the profound laziness and apathy I exhibit begins to make a lot of sense.

Sun in Virgo.... Merc in Virgo......

I AM A LAZY VIRGO. Very lazy actually. Or maybe its more that I procrastionate- which is quite Virgoan. Doesn't help haven't the Capricorn ascendent with both Sun and Merc in Virgo, it made me worry so much and become completely stressed out. As a result I've become a work-a-phobe. Right now, I'm on the internet when I should be doing piano practise or sleeping.

Sleep depravation- it's a bad thing......

I have a Virgo Ascendant, and I'm lazy as hell. There are just some things about my ascendant, that I don't identify with at all. Hard work and health being two of them. I'd rather laze around with friends, and be comfortable than go out by myself to a gym or a health food store. Ick. But then again, Libra takes up 23.48 of the 27.36 degrees of my first house. :-P

ha...I'm a virgo...I work 4 jobs..teach dance...take classes everyday...im doing a play and also producing and doing other small projects on the side...but at the same I'm very lazy...dosnt make much sense..but actors are known to be lazy anyways. well film actors are known to be lazy....In theatre you cant. but I can go on forever about that..unless anyone wants to know..i'll stop typing now.
one thing to add...I'm very hard working but never ever show my lazy side to ppl..so u only see my hard working side and everyone wonders why im not burned out yet from the working..but i can be so lazy.....but i think thats after im burned out..than i get lazy...
so maybe thats why u see lazy virgo..they overworked themselves so much that there just burned out...even if u didnt see them working that much..they probably worked themselves out in there head..and tired themselves out.
