Hi there!I never understood very well the effect of retrograde planets in a chart, especially because all my planets are in direct motion... What is the effect of Venus, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto retrograde in the natal chart of the same person? Thanks!

Good question, steelrose. My friend has five planets in retrograde as well. Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto, and Chiron. I'm quite curious what this means... perhaps I'll go dig around for some info. Any clues anyone? AJ? Natasha? Thanks, y'all. Ghani IP: Logged |

Great thread! I have Mercury, Uranus, Neptune and, Pluto retro. I have a book by Rev. Alice, (she pops in here on occasion), it' is titled, ' Retrograde Planets and Consciousness'. In it she writes:" Any retrograde planet is involved in raising awareness of it's function." also: " Retrograde planets often require a repetition of learning experiences." It is a great book and, gives detailed insight of each planet, the effects in both direct and, retro motion, as well as, how each may be related to past lives. Maybe she'll ' pop ' in. She does have a unique and, new perspective with regard to astrology, in general. I love it. ~ geminstone IP: Logged |

I too have four planets in ret. - Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto. There's a really good string on this over at the free astrology course. Alot of info. Also have Uranus stationary, anyone know what that means? Seems I remember that the further out the planet the more it stays in retrograde, (like half the time?) so its fairly common and that Saturn is a planet that is comfortable in that state. Thanks all!Sun_Scorp, that web site looks really good... I´m going to have a deep look to it! What is that about repeating learning experiences? In this lifetime or carried over from past lifetimes? Geministone, can you explain it, please? Proxie? Thanks!!

steelrose - I wish that I could be of help, but I guess that having 6 retrograde planets hasn't much helped me to understand the phenomenon of retrogradation in the natal chart any more than I understand...most stuff, really Their energies have always been there - their eccentricities always such a part of me - that the weird is the norm. That being said, most who've known me've said that I'm an incredibly odd person (which doesn't hurt my 1st House Uranus' feelings at all ), though it's not the kind of oddness that's there because it's out and screaming for attention. I just yam what I yam - Yar, yar, yar. My natural way of seeing, processing, and assimilating information has been...distinct...when compared to that of those around me all of my life. I can try to think and speak and be as it seems do others around me, but such action quickly drives me to mild neurosis and depression. Then to not so mild forms. Further, one may say that for members of the uber-retro club any amount of introspection must be a good thing - and it very well may be for you - but my 4th House SN in Aqua and Leo NN in the 10th could be saying something else regarding my case. Too much introspective philosphical musing and pondering quickly bogs me down. That is, look to your own chart for themes. Believe it or not, they'll jump out and grab you. IP: Logged |

Well my 2 cents, my b/f has 6 planets in reto. When his g-grandmother first saw him after birth, she looked right into his eyes and said he was a little old man in that little bitty body. She them drew up his chart by hand and said it comfirmed what she saw when she looked at him for the first time. His mother recalls, g-grandmother telling her that the more planets one has in retro at birth details the age of their souls, or proves they are an old soul. But i dont know the number of retros one has to have in order to be consider old soul? or if u just have to have em period? not sure ... I remember seeing something somewhere else as well regarding this, but it was very brief. And now I cant recall where. I only have one in retro and thats Jupiter, well and Chiron ... ang- IP: Logged |

Hi All, ~ delerious, Stationary is the point, at which, the planet appears to have stopped. (Sd), means ' Stationary Direct ', this is when, the planet, is at that point and, upon it's ' re-start ', will be in direct motion. I found or, was brought to a site (through another thread here), that went into great detail about Mercury's recent retro. These points, stationary to retro and, stationary direct, were given much emphasis. I'll check my bookmarks in a bit to see if I saved it, if you would like it....?~ steelrose, If you will give me a bit, I'll try to give an example of one of the planets that you listed. I have'nt read through this book, only browsed, as I have several others too and, currently, have only been able to browse any Rev. Alice does have a web site as well http://www.lifeprints-for-living.com/ I'm not sure that much will be found in regard to interps on this, as she has her book, which, with the others, is a fair part of her livelihood. I have met her, personally and, her web site is definitely worth a look anyway. I will try to write something soon though. I have to go for now... ~ geminstone IP: Logged |

Thanks so much, Geministone! And to all of you! This 5 retros belong to a guy I´m interested in... I wonder how it will affect a possible relationship considering that all my planets are direct... If I´m getting this right, retros would point areas where lessons have to be re-learnt... So maybe, just retro point to karmic failures? Lessons that you didn´t learn and need to experience again... Just guessing... I always thought I was an old soul... I have had strange dreams that appear to be past lifes memories that arise to my memory that way... But I don´t have any retrograde in my chart... IP: Logged |

Retrograde planets may indicate Karmic things from the past, but it's just one of many things that does, and doesn't tell the whole story. Actually the whole chart holds clues to our past lives, with some things a little bit more obvious than others, such as Retrogrades, the Moon, Saturn, the Nodes, & the 12th House. But really every planet, aspect, & house placement reveals a piece of the puzzle of our soul's collective Karma. IP: Logged |

angel_of_hope that is very interesting: "the more planets one has in retro at birth details the age of their souls, or proves they are an old soul."My ex-boyfriend has 6 planets in retrograde...he seemed like a very old man to me, even though he's only 22. He held a lot of wisdom about the world in general (too bad he didn't hold any in how to treat ladies right ). IP: Logged |

VTT You know.....I feel bad for people with Venus retro. That's gotta be a tough one, I would think. Especially if it's making hard aspects. IP: Logged |

Hey guysI have Saturn and Pluto retro. I also have Uranus Stationary (R) - which I take to mean stationary and about to go retro..I'm curious about stationary as well so it'd be good if you find that link Geministone . I also have my North Node retrogade and its conjunct my Venus..what would that mean? Any past life connection to the North Node..or is past life only to do with the South Node. If my North Node is retro does that mean South Node is retro as well? Soz too many questions lol Hi Steelrose My bf also has all his planets direct. How does that feel? Its got to be better than having retros..I dont really like it, I get the feeling it changes the energies of the planets in a not so positive way. IP: Logged |

Hm...Astrolabe doesn't have its little retrograde symbol beneath my NN in its generated chart...nor for my husband's. Astro-software.com doesn't list ours as retro, either. Nor for my husband (I just used "Panama" since they wouldn't give his specific birth city there, though). IP: Logged | |
