Western astrology is no science, in fact only Vedic astrology can claim to that fact, using the sidereal calculations. So if Astrology is not a science, what is it, and how does it work?

Western astrology works on the principle of intuition and working with the higher self. The house systems have always been and argument between astrologers in the past, which house syste to use. If you look at your own natal chart without looking at the house positions you can let the energies reveal themselves much more clearly. Example if your sun under the placidus system comes in the sixth house but under the equal house system it is in the fifth house, then the suns rays will take the energy of both houses. By using this system it will create a much broader way of looking at your own natal chart. This can be applied to the other house systems as well. However western astrology is more like a mystic art form, think of the Tarot cards, their are each card meanings that you learn but the basic principle is tuning in yourself and picking up the symbols that filter through your mind and higher self. By applying this to your own chart will help you to move and learn quickly the lessons in life. Not one interpreation is correct, example Pluto transits the first house, that is an indvidual experience that you alone must discover how you deal with that aspect and what lessons you will learn. Now a western astrology will give you guidelines as to what might happen, an astrologer is like a person holding the map to your future, you can maybe take this road and encounter this, or maybe this road and see this, but an astrologer cannot see a crash, because that would take the fun out of life, change, which once embraced takes a different tone.
For astrology to move foward, it needs to take a much more down to earth attitude, astrology for far to long has been caught up in theory and intellect, making tangiable ideas seem lost and confused. By making astrology more in tune with your body and soul you will see the difference in the way you percieve your planets and the signs and aspects that they fall in.

That is why astrology is not a science and should not claim to be, are western calculations are wrong.

As an pro astrologer myself i would like to point out that i have been reading this message board for some time now, and have even posted a few times to see your reactions and on ost cases, people seem to be caught up in the theory of astrology.

However i must stress that anybody who has an interest in astrology or practice should continue down this road, but lets get practical about it and tune into your own chart that will reveal itself through your higher self.

The best site for getting free charts is www.astro.com. You will get a free chart and a little rundown of your basic personality by Robert Hand a very good astrologer. You can also check out your partners chart and combine the two ans also find out which places in the world where you would find greater oppotunities based on your birth chart.

Put in your details and go to extended chart selection, when you get to that page, on the drop down for house systems it gives you the option for Vedic, click and that will give you the house postions for a vedic chart.

Thanks.

I'm trying to figure out how to get just an individual chart.
Though, I was able to do a synastry chart.

I'd be curious as to your thoughts if your in the mood to do so of this chart. http://www.astro.com/cgi/showgif.cgi?lang=e&gif=achart_1jqfile0SZCZv-u1098328489.59888.15028.gif&res=100&va=

would looking up these be basically the same as looking up western astrology?

*goes to try to figure how to do just one*

i'm so confused about both the systems. the placement of the planets seems to be much like what western astrology claims and from the area of my life where is see it effecting i feel the house system of sideral is better.

eg.. i have sun in sag in 3rd house in western
and i have sun in scorpio in 4th house.

most of the time i feel like a sag (sun in sad- west astro_ but when tansiting pluto was on my sun i felt the change in my house and my family (sun in 4th house- western astro).

isn't all this really strange? is there a system which considers the signs of western astro and the house of indian astro?

Whoa!
that says I'm an Aquarius, and that doesn't 'fit' me at all.
Are the natural tendencies of the Verdic Aquarius the same as the Western Pisces?

Now, I am confused...
