Not sure...According to it, I'm a Metal Rat. From what little I've read, it makes sense, and I can relate to some of it. IP: Logged |

I find Chinese Astrology to be extremely accurate. I'm a Fire horse born in 66 which coincides with the sign of Gemini and even though I'm a Taurus I find I have a lot of Gemini traits. Also my mom is a Gem so I'm sure I've inherited a lot of quirks from her, too!Peace and Love

I find the Chinese astrology to be much too broad for me. It's like looking only at one's Pluto placement, and that's it!But I do see some truth to their interpretations of generational seasons. IP: Logged |

I am a metal dog. From what I have read it has been pretty accurate also. I never knew what a chinease sign was until I was about 8 years old. My chinease friend told me about it and said I was a dog. This link gives some info:

Wow, it's spelled "Chinease"???? No wonder my Google searches have come up lacking... thanks for setting me straight. Or, should I say, "strait?"IP: Logged |

Having worked with a Chinese scientist, I can assure you that the proper spelling is "Chinese". IP: Logged |

I think it could be fairly accurate. It doesn't seem to be as in depth as western astrology, but there doesn't seem to be as many resources to learn about it either. I guess I am.....
White Sheep, born in the year of Red Dragon. The first character in DAY represents me. So I am equivalent to Metal. I guess it would make sense since I have sun conjunct mars conjunct mercury and also Moon square Neptune and Moon trine Venus and Venus conjunct Descendant as well as a few other aspects Here's a cool site..... http://www.fortuneangel.com/TDB/leChart.asp Here's another cool website. http://www.travelchinaguide.com/intro/social_customs/zodiac/ ------------------ "The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart” `Helen Keller quotes

I've read that western astrology is good for determining initial attraction/compatibility & an easy compatibility in chinese astrology is for the long term potential.Right now I have both but I wonder if anyone experienced better compatibility in one or the other and do you think it affected you? Metal pig here...maybe from what I read about my chinese sign works well with my 8th house stuff. A Pig/Boar relates to the western sign os Scorpio.I also have Snake rising - opposite from the Boar and it equates to Taurus. I have Saturn and Mercury in Taurus. Then to top it off I have a Dragon Moon - which really relates to Aries. IP: Logged |

Yes as far as I know people have 4 Chinese signs. One for the Year, one for the Month, one for the day and one for the hour. For me I am born in the year of the Metal Horse. Month of the Metal Dragon Day of the Fire Lamb/Sheep/Goat/Ram Hour of the Wood Snake Here is a link for those who want to know theirs http://chinesehoroscopeonline.com/Chinesehoroscope.htm And here is a link where you can learn about the personality traits that go along http://www.usbridalguide.com/special/chinesehoroscopes/Sheep.htm (to find out your animal and element you just have to scroll down a bit when you click on the animal you want) Here is a brief example of mine... Metal Horse: The Metal Horse loves to roam. Horses change jobs and partners frequently because of their need for adventure and their desire to tap into the unknown. The Metal Horse will make a better friend than partner because a friendship doesn’t tie him down the way a relationship does. Metal Dragon: Truthful but extreme, courageous but unyielding, Metal Dragons have a strength similar to the Dragon fire. Metal Dragons can often calm others through their forceful personalities. Yet even if they attract no support they will fight alone. Fire Sheep: Fire Sheep are not as likely to get their feelings hurt nor are they as likely to desire the approval of others as typical Sheep are. They are vivacious and charismatic, preferring theater to any of the other arts. Fire Sheep generally enjoy a tight circle of friends and family and enjoy the social limelight. Wood Snake: The element of Wood, like in most Animal Signs, gives the Snake a bit of solidity and foundation. These Snakes have a stable group of friends and family to hang out with and love each of these people quite deeply. Kindness and genuity are two of this Snake’s greatest characteristics. IP: Logged |

Yeah.. I usually believe in the Chinese Zodiac. Also, I notice I get along really great with people who not only aspects my Western Astro signs well, but also my Eastern. The 3 I get along famously with is the Rat, Oxen, and Rooster. I don't know many Snakes but they're the other sign Oxens get on well with.
quote: THE WOOD OX 1925 AND 1985Understanding and fair, these are the least unyielding of the Oxen and the most apt to change and accept new ideas. A more liberal attitude gives them the ability to appreciate the value of being a part of a team, and other members of the team respect the high principles of the Wood Ox. They are particularly self-confident giving them an air of unspoken authority. This characteristic means that Wood Oxen are often chosen as leaders or spokespeople. They also have a shorter fuse than other Ox people, and are more likely to be outspoken or to stand up in a crowd to be heard. These Oxen are quite devoted to those they love and make strong and affectionate friends and relations. Oxen are not the most sociable people and tend not to mix easily in social gatherings. Instead, they would rather be at home, enjoying their privacy and anonymity. Unlike the Rat, the Monkey, or the Rooster, the Oxen tend not to have a little black book, preferring a few very loyal friends to a large network of acquaintances. Oxen do know how to shine at social occasions, but more often than not they dislike small talk. These are wary people, unlikely to ignite friendships on the spur of the moment. They like to take their time and get to know people before disclosing themselves fully. A happy, solid relationship with their partner and children is the most satisfying goal they could accomplish.

Here is another link about chinese signs. http://www.tuvy.com/entertainment/chinese_horoscope.htm And here are some breif examples again Earth Rabbit Feb 19, 1939 to Feb 7, 1940 Feb 16, 1999 to Feb 4, 2000 In the middle of the night, the Earth Rabbit has light bulbs flashing, ideas and lots of them. Only thing is, as hardworking and serious about their work as they certainly are, they get bored easily - the grass is always greener somewhere else. As a result, love is always bubbling over with the afterglow of warmth and affection. Wood Dragon Feb 16, 1904 to Feb 3, 1905 Feb 13, 1964 to Feb 1, 1965 These Dragons are the chivalrous knights and guardian angels of life, generous with their friendship, compassionate, even heroic, in their deeds. Now, as you know, the chances of winning the lottery are pretty slim, but Wood Dragons just might do it. The Wood Dragon partner is loving and supportive of the loved one's needs and love is never taken for granted. Metal Snake Jan 27, 1941 to Feb 14, 1942 Jan 24, 2001 to Feb 11, 2002 Sleeves rolled up, Metal Snakes get down to this business of living with a courageous will to risk everything for the greater good to come. Not afraid of having their noses to the grindstone, they've had their share of long weary days and tidal wave exhaustion. Metal Snakes have no trouble attracting the opposite sex who are generous with their love, gifts, and spoiling kindnesses. IP: Logged |
