Hi everybody, I'm new here - this site was recommended to me and I'm looking forward to hearing your views. Great site by the way. I do have a question if you don't mind. I was reading a book on soulmates the other day and the pages opened to a chapter regarding astrology. It said that Saturn was either in conjunction or in opposition in soulmates charts. I hadn't heard this before so would like to hear your views on the subject. Blessings to you all, Deb IP: Logged |

Hi, Fairygardens Cute name...welcome aboard! Saturn is usually associated with unfinished Karmic business, and a strong sense of obligation in relationships. If Saturn aspects are not present in a relationship, chances are, you won't know each other long enough to have much effect on each other. Saturn is relationship crazy-glue. Or contact cement may be more appropriate. AS for the whole "soul-mate" theory, I think it's best to not take that so literally. Everybody who comes into your life is a soul mate. Anybody who you've ever been effected by, on a soul level, is a soul mate. This could be someone who comes and goes in a flash, or someone you've known all your life. They don't have to be a romantic interest - heck, your little snot-nosed brother is a soul mate. It's said that every person who we come in contact with in life is someone who we "scripted" into our life experience before we came here. Reason's, Season's, and Lifetimes... My fear is, if people truly believe that there is only one person for them in the world, one soul-mate who makes them complete and gives them their reason for living, well... you're setting yourself up for monumental disappointments and unconsolable heartbreak - a) if you never do find said "soul-mate, or b) you believe you have found them, and then the relationship ends (as relationships will in many cases). It's ok to believe in soul-mates, but allow for the possibly that you will have several of them throughout your life, not just one. In fact, maybe I'M one of your soul mates! And my job is done now! Karma indeed.. I know someone with My Saturn conjunct his Sun and Moon, His Saturn opposed my Sun/Uranus/Mars/TNode Stellium. We also share Venus/Mars exact conjunction. We are friends working through our Karma. My knowledge of Astrology proves this.IP: Logged |

Oh, and btw, with the Saturn/crazy glue analogy...A very special someone to me has his Saturn sitting on my Sun. Now, you all who know me, know that I am not one to enjoy being repressed in any way. And I do sometimes feel restricted by him...but I also can't get enough of him. Which is not to say that totally should be attributed to Saturn... IP: Logged |

Thanks for your replies everybody. I totally agree with you about the whole waiting around for your soulmate thing. I believe the term "soulmates" relates more to soul connection rather than the whole one special love of your life theory. I think there are lessons to be learned from everyone we come into contact with. It's just that this book was specifically talking about the romantic soulmates aspect - it was the first time I'd ever heard of Saturn playing such a big part in identifying them so to speak. So thankyou for explaining everything to me - I understand how Saturn works a lot better now. Very eloquently put let me add. Thanks again and blessings to you all.

Seems to me that depending on only a Conjunct or an Opposition to Saturn for soul mate material is rather LIMITING! ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |
