Technically, I am supposed to be a sane, practical Taurus, with a Virgo rising that would not settle for anything but perfection. I have all the traits of earthy, reasonable, materialistic bulls - hard-working, sensuous and comfort seeking. But most of the time, my Pisces moon foils a lot of my sane plans to work and focus - it sneaks up on me and makes me day dream at the oddest times. I also get very emotional skittish and get all the mess that goes with a mutable watery moon. Is that possible - the Moon getting heavy on the Sun and redefining personalities?IP: Logged |

Some people believe that your Moon sign is in fact more important than your Sun and, as such is your true "Astrological Sign"... but of course both play a part, regardless of which you believe is the true sign or whatever.Have a look at the placement of your moon and it's aspects. Is it heavily aspected? What house is it in? Do you have any otherwater or mutuable planets? Your Pisces moon may be a singleton and so more powerful. IP: Logged |

I believe it...I've been told repeatedly that I am not your typical Virgo, in fact some people ask me later on, "Are you SURE you're a Virgo?" My Sun isn't really that significant in my chart once you start looking at what else is going on. I believe my Moon really, truly is the focal point in my chart. My Moon is exalted in my chart (in Taurus), it's in the first house, it's the apex of a yod, it's conjunct my Chiron...and after reading about the other aspects it makes (1 square and 2 very strong oppositions) it brings out those things in me bigtime too. Also the same sign the moon is in happens to rule my chart. I also have a Libra stellium that seems to fight with my moon and overrules my sun. IP: Logged |

My moon(Taurus) is a Singleton also and I've always strongly identified with it but my Sun is also in the 1st house. So I don't know which has the more influence...IP: Logged |

As the Moon sign & House its in is past life related, it feels more stronger because it's where we're coming from. It's our past life Comfort Zone, so therefore we can relate to it better. IP: Logged |

maya-v -As an Air Sign with a Water Moon, I DO understand what you are saying. It reminds me of a new topic I wanted to start here and forgot about, which is a little similar to what you bring up here. I was going to actually post regarding my Sun & Asc's struggle with each other up until just a few years ago. But in reference to my Sun & Moon, I've also learned to deal with seemingly contradictory intentions. My Sun in a Air Sign wanted to continue along it's natural logical path, and then my Moon would take me on a tangent worthy of the Aspects they make - Square! Not only is it frustrating to have to take time to babysit your Moon's needs at the most inconvenient times, but it's frustrating to others who only know of one word to describe the confusion - moodiness. I'll start the thread on the similar battle between my Sun & Asc. ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

Hey Maya! I believe what Aqua Girl said. I do feel that it all depends where that particular planet is placed. For instance I'm a Taurus too but most people think I'm a Pisces. I have Venus in Pisces and Saturn as well so maybe their placed in a more intense part of your chart? My moon is in Libra and because of that I feel I relate to Libras fairly well. I feel a sort of kinship towards them? I don't know if that makes any sense.Have a great day everyone! IP: Logged |

We’re the opposite maya, I’m a water Sun, earth Moon. I think a water sign can dominate your chart like no other. Especially if it’s in your Sun, Moon or ascendant. It can drown you other strong aspects and make you very watery . Linda did say water was the most powerful element

Interesting topic, Maya. I'm an Air Sun Water Moon like A.J., but there are times I feel more Pisces than Libra (like now, with those 4 planets in Pisces!). My Moon is in the 8th, a singleton, and it's also the apex of what I was told was the "Bucket configuration" where one planet is the handle and all the rest are the bucket. It's also the base of a kite and one of the points of a grand trine. My Pisces Moon does the same underhanded gig yours does: foiling my best-laid calculated Airy plans!------------------ "Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter." ~Yoda IP: Logged |

I totally agree with Mya ... I am Virgo sun and Sag rising and Leo moon. Many people often ask me if I'm really a Virgo ... My Leo moon just overides evrything often ... Most Virgos I know irritate the heck out of me: real negative, slow to act, cheap, cheap cheap (did I say cheap ...lol) and something about them being to scretive ets to me ... I'm very impulsive, love change, love spending money, open with disussion about me to a fault and generally more upbeat, outgoing and idealistic than the Virgos I know. My fire rising and moon keep me from being too much of a Virgo (and many times I thank God for that)IP: Logged |

This is interesting (if not kind of worrying [there goes my cappy rising!]).I admit sometimes my Aries Moon does get very prominant... it depends.... when I'm with people I don't know, I'm very shy and retiring (a Virgo/Cappy combo there, with unfortunate placing of Saturn in my 1st house) but when I'm with friends, I'm totally nuts, very friendly, maybe a little self-centered? Ha! I suppose when you know your chart you can think to yourself sometimes, "Yeah, I really remind myself of an Aries there".... creepy... BUT surely the sun sign must be more important?? Afterall, it is the one people have been picking up on for years. Surely the Sun must be more powerful than a luminary?? A reflection? Hmmm.... but then it IS annoying when people say "Oh, but I'm nothing like my sun sign so I don't believe in astrology" and you try and explain it to them and they look like you're crazy. "A con- what in my 2nd what?? What's in my anus??!" *sigh*...... It's sometimes thought that your Ascendent is more important than both of these. Sometimes I have to remind myself I'm not a Capricorn or I get carried away.... IP: Logged |
