I've heard quite a few people look to the Moon's Nodes when trying to ferret out clues to their "soul mates" and their karmic ties to those special people. An interesting thing to do if you've got some time on your hands: Look at your family's Nodes and how they relate to the charts of one another.
A quick overview from my fam:
My Husband's NN is at 3d Cancer.
It's conj. both his Mom and Dad's Sun by sign (more closely aspecting his Mom's Sun); his South Node's conj. his Dad's Moon by sign.
His Dad's NN is conj. my Husband's Venus and my South Node; his Dad's South Node is his wife's Venus and Pluto and conj. my North Node.
His Mom's NN is loosely conj. his Dad's (her husband's) Moon and her SN is conj. her husband's Sun. Her NN and SN are almost exactly opposed to my husband's NN and SN (she has NN in Cappie in the 2nd and SN in Cancer in the 8th; he's NN in Cancer in the 8th and SN in Cappie in the 2nd).
My Dad's NN is conj. my Husband's Sun and my Moon; his SN is conj. my brother's Mars.
My Mom's NN is almost exactly conj. my MIL's NN and loosely conj. my FIL's and Brother's Moon. Her SN is loosely conj. my Brother's Sun, my Dad's Moon, and the Sun's of both of my husband's parents.
My North Node is Conj. my Mother-in-Law's Venus, my sister's Venus, and my brother's Mars; my SN is conj. my FIL's North Node, my sister's Asc, my Mom's Merc and (loosely) her Venus, and my Husband's Venus.
My NN is also conj. all our parents' Pluto (they were all born around the same time).
Our Daughter's NN is @ 11d Taurus.
That's conj. my Husband's Moon, and my Venus and Chiron. Her Scorp SN is conj. my Asc and my FIL's (her grandfather's) Mars.
The Moral of the Story:
Be nice to your family members.
You've been with them before, and most likely will again.
