That's right. March 21st is International Astrology Day. How are you going to celebrate?

And for all you single parents out there it is also Single Parents Day!

Get ready because tomorrow is "International Goof Off Day!" (I swear to God. These are true. Look it up if you dont believe me.)

On the 24th we can look forward to "National Chocolate covered raisin Day."

The 26th brings "Make up your own Holiday Day."

28th, "Something on a stick day."

The 29th is "Love your Children Day." (only on that day now. dont get carried away)

The 30th? "I Am In Control Day."

And finally to cap off the month, on the 31st we have "Bunsen Burner Day."

WTF???

Hey 26T ~
Where can I find a list of April's events? Doggone it, I'm really upset about missing National Pig Day, National Banana Cream Pie Day, National Cheese Doodle Day, Everything You Do Is Right Day, and Submarine Day. I still have a chance at National Snowman Burning Day (and here in Minnesota we can really have fun with that!).

Oh dear, did I panic on Panic Day like I was supposed to?

Azalkash, I cant find that link for the life of me. Or a list of all the holidays that is as good as that one. I'll keep looking though.

Sassy, I stumbled upon this:

quote:
Ode to the Bunsen Burner Oh! Bunsen Burner! Oh! Bunsen Burner! You glow so bright! Your flame takes flight! Oh! Bunsen Burner you make science experiments work just right!

This week Learning Resources pays tribute to one of the greatest and most widely used pieces of science laboratory equipment, the Bunsen Burner. If you have ever done any experimenting in a science lab, you are familiar with the Bunsen Burner. You already know that the Bunsen Burner is a heating device. It is commonly used in laboratories because it provides a hot, steady, smokeless flame that disappears completely and immediately when you turn it off. But what you might not know about the Bunsen Burner is that it was named after a German chemist named Robert Wilhelm Eberhard von Bunsen (1811-1899). In 1855 Mr. Bunsen adapted the concept of a gas-air burner and popularized the use of what we know today as the Bunsen Burner. Mr. Bunsen was born in Gottingen, Germany on 31 March 1811. He studied chemistry in Gottingen, Paris, Berlin, and Vienna. When he grew up he became a chemistry professor at several different German universities. His work in many different chemistry labs led to his eventual invention of the Bunsen Burner. His assistant, C. Desaga, actually built the first Bunsen Burner for him. Because Mr. Bunsen's invention, the Bunsen Burner, has had such a profound impact on the way science experiments are conducted, 31 March has been designated Bunsen Burner Day, in honor of Mr. Bunsen and his fabulous invention!

lol thanks for that info 26t

My science lab back in high school actually used to have bunsen burners. But the funny thing is, my class never got an opportunity to use them. I guess the teachers thought the combo of teens & bunsen burners was too potentially dangerous.

...And how does one actually celebrate Bunsen Burner Day anyway? By roasting hot dogs over the flames, perhaps? lol

26T,
We share a lot of the same thought/logic patterns it must be my Taures/Capricorn planets relating to your T/C placements (or vice versa )

I've been very aware of the end of our astrological year, when we get to 29 29' 59" Pisces (the end) and then go to 0 00' 00" Aries (the beginning)or the Vernal Equinox

For those of you who are curious

The point at which the ecliptic intersects the celestial equator, the sun having a northerly motion.
The moment at which the sun passes through the vernal equinox, about March 21, marking the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere.
