virgotaurustaurus unregistered	posted March 25, 2005 01:20 AM So, I have found the simple explanation of ascendant as appearance alone rather disturbing in astrology, due to my experimental nature of guessing people's signs by first meeting them and the few moments I have with them. 9 times out of 10 I can guess at least one of their signs in their top 3 (Sun/Moon/Asc), rather than the Sun alone. I've also found that sometimes, one of the top 3 will not be apparent at all, or one of them will be much stronger than the others, rather than the Ascendant being all about the appearance. I've also noticed some patterns in appearance due to Sun sign alone. I have gotten really good at pointing out Aquarius men based on certain features, no matter what their moon or Asc is. Also, I have seemingly been a pro at picking up on certain Sag men lately as well, and this seems to stem back to my Taurus ex having a Sag Rising, which he had a lot of the features of one. I found a guy that certainly looked like him yet was twice his size so I assumed that his SUN must be Sag. also, with my Scorpio friend, I think it's very obvious of the combo of her Sun and her Virgo Rising. I'm just wondering if anyone else notices that appearances aren't as exact a science as just one planet in a sign, and not always one planet or the ascendant all the time with everyone. I've also definitely seen patterns, which is how I can find aquarian (look at the nose and for faraway look in their big, glazed over eyes haha) and sag men, and even Scorpios and Libras. Of course I have a lot of learning to do appearance-wise, as I wouldn't really know a Gemini if I saw one, and Cappy's are a difficult one as well (unless i'm hanging around the Goth scene haha). I also definitely failed at figuring out this dude I just met the other day, at least at his Sun sign. I haven't figured out his other signs, but he came across as a Sag/Aqua hybrid, and wound up being a Leo Sun. Weird, huh? IP: Logged

And I'd have to agree with your assessments, particularly the "faraway look in [Aqua's] glazed over eyes" (lol!). We wouldn't have them any other way, right? I've been known to spot Gems by their fondness for the color blue, the fact that they never shut up (lol), and tend to "talk" with their hands. Also, they like to "regard" you, if you catch my drift. And Caps will tend to exude a natural air of competence, if that makes sense. Many astrologers are unsatisfied with the "superficial" interpretations of the Ascendant. According to one branch of study, Esoteric Astrology, the Ascendant and its ruler indicate the life purpose of the individual! Capricorns I am always surrounded by. Alot of people get intimidated by them. They feel it when they are around them. Not me though. But I know what they mean. I study people alot. Geminis I always know immediately. Cancers I can always tlel by the sweet looks on there face.........when they aren't moody and they have a great sense of humor. I just want to cuddle up with them! Sagis I always notice because they are conceited, bossy, and are kind of easy(sorry). but I get along with them anyways. Taurus I usually bump into have a dreamy look to them. IP: Logged

(The duality keeps me looking different every day if possible). My Scorp rising gives my green eyes intensity so I am not sure someone would guess my sign off the top. My Cancer moon doesn't dampen my sunny nature....HOWEVER, my talkative self mixed with the 'talking hands thing' possible will give me away! LOL! Forget about looking like a Gem...you only have to notice how much we LOVE to talk (actions)!! Ha,ha.... IP: Logged

I read that somewhere and I've found it too be true. I find the Virgos eyes I know to have even the Scorpion eyes beat. IP: Logged

Sweet Blue Moon unregistered	posted March 25, 2005 05:10 PM I straighten my hair sometimes I am lazy. It takes 2 hours to straighten my hair or less if you are an expert. My curls are very small. Gem star do you ever see yourself as different. For example I have noticed that the right side of my face looks more different than my left side. Sometimes like a different person. Personally, I have a lot of different looks...depends on the day and event/situation I am involved in at that moment. My Neptune is in my 1st house and I sometimes wonder if that is why I can pulloff so many looks...hmmmm. I also have the 'Adonis' asteroid and Pars Fort. there in the 1st as well. (And even my name Kathleen asteroid is located in the 1st!) As far as straightening the hair thing...yes, I have it down to a science and it takes me about an hour. A royal pain but so worth the soft silky feel...so many of you straight-haired people are lucky to have it so easy! (So we curly-heads say!!LOL!) IP: Logged

I have dark brown, almost black, straight hair and, up until 2 days ago, it was quite long. It's all gone now, .... the length anyway Like GemStar, I also have Scorpio Rising. My Moon is Pisces, however. HSC, I posted, in the thread about the photo shop, to you. My husband and I, were both doing double takes, as you look like his brother. What's more, is that bro's birthday is Nov. 6, 76... I have to agree with 26T, my Son's eyes... without a doubt, beat out mine! He is, also, a Pisces Moon so, I would guess it's his Virgo Ascendent..... the picture, that is posted, is not doing the greatest justice but, he has big, beautiful, welcoming, blue peepers. Then, there is our daughter and, her eyes are much the same. I love her smiling eyes! Must be her Sagittarius Ascendent... but, could be her Libra Sun...? ~ geminstone IP: Logged

Wow you guys can read gems pretty well,I use my hands when I talk,I'm known for that in college....I really use them a lot,and i love blue....my wadrobe is dominated by blues of all shades,my watch,cell phone,shoes,sox,coffee cup,guitar and playstation are all blue.....wow didnt even notice all the blue around me....I suck at guessing peoples asrto identity's,need more training... My skin is very fair, chisled features=aquarius,large soulfol brown eyes= taurus and innocent look overall to face=virgo. Does that sound right. That's the way i figure it anyway.
