everything I ever read about the 6th is somewhere around WORK, SERVICE, HEALTH.

the 'natural' sign for the 6th is VIRGO, which is hardly passionate, but rather HARD-WORKING, TRUSTWORTHY, CRITICAL and DETAL oriented, ANALITYCAL and CALM.

how has passion come into the story about the 6th house?

I can't speak for Natasha nor do I know her reasoning on this (but I have an inkling), but I think it's always good to use KEYWORDS as a STARTING POINT and not a "be all, end all" for interpretation. Furthermore, to really do astrology well, you need to learn how to synthesize the different facets of the signs, planets and house and understand how they work cooperatively, which I think is what Natasha is striving to do.

But the 6th house alone isn't devoid of passion - it is associated with Virgo and Mercury, which are passionate, albeit in a more cerebral and analytical way. Whatever the Mercurial signs do, either Virgo or Gemini, they tend to do intensely and energetically, and even if that doesn't necessarily inculde an overflowing of fuzzy, demonstrtative emotion, it still can be called "passion."

This certainly translates in how the respective houses - 3rd and 6th - influence planets. I know, since my Aqua Mars is in the 6th - and I assure you that all things my Aqua Mars gets involves with, it does so very, very passionately, and it's not all because of the Martain energy. The 6th house adds focus, logic, dedication, principles and a sense of duty to that energy that not only encourages and fuels passion, but makes it more constructive and long-lasting. Hence why it wouldn't be surprising if there was a definite connection between the 6th house and what line of work we would be attracted to and would excell the most in.

You're right cristiname. There may be passion in the 6th house, but that's not what that house is noted for.

Passion would more likely be found through mars or pluto. Your sun and moon would also tell what you feel passionately about

Gemini Nymph -

I liked your interpretation on that very much. I have my Moon in the 3rd, and three Planets in my 6th. If anything, it makes the passion MORE EXACTING. Virgo's not only love sex, but are REALLY GOOD AT IT once they learn the ropes. Buyer beware.

yes, doublevenus, that's how I see it too...

"dedication" is a very nice try!

but i still don't feel the 'passion' about the 6th; and I have a LEO Mars in the 6th!

must be my Scorpio Moon, eh?

My Moon is in Cancer, so we probably have some similar energies.

cristiname, your passion in life and your work are connected, some people like to manage people, some manage things, some are into art, and others like working with their hands, but one thing is for sure, the passion in life has to be connected to what we feel best at.

he 6th is what you do best, not just your work. So it's less about work and service, and more about what you like to do. A nurse for example is not born to serve, she likes nursing because of many things, people, the hours, the money, maybe she likes hospitals, it's not as simple as sixth house=service.

So since everyone is looking for meaning and passion in their day to day life, the sixth house ruler shows long lasting interest. It's not a love interest, it's a life long passion.

A sixth house cusp in Leo, shows a strong need to socialize with others for work, and to be number one. Leo on the sixth house cusp will not sit still or work at a desk, and I have met people who are trying. So that's why the need for this kind of analysis. Some try to project on to others, and get a partner who does what they want to do. That doesn't work either.

There are many unhappy people in fields that they are unsuited for, and they start looking for passion elsewhere. If you try to squeeze yourself into a mold, you will find yourself angry, or emotional. So when someone I know is angry or emotional I look at the sixth house ruler and figure out if that person's work is suited to his or her nature. I think of the sixth house as a place people do not work on enough.

The sixth is about how to find a passion TO serve. So your sixth house is what you serve best and where you feel most comfortable. It's an awkward subject for most,

The sixth house is often ignored and usually it's the place where one needs to do the most work. If you own those qualities you are happiest.

Muhammed Ali, is one who really worked his sixth house, his Aquarius Sun is in the 6th. This guy was not calm. If you look at his life, he knew the only chance he had to make it was to get people to love him, to be in the public eye, by fighting.

The 6th is about work, and he did work in public, and he also had no other prospects for money or fame. He worked that sixth house to the limit. He had to teach others, but he owned that house, and didn't pass it on to others, for that reason he was a very well rounded individual who lived his dream.

The 6th is about not letting go, so it's not like Pluto or Mars passion which burns out, it never burns out, it's steady and determined. For that reason I encourage others to study their sixth house and push it to to the limit.

Astro junkie..

And I just saw you have a moon/saturn opposition. I have the conjunction..lol

Someone once said to me, "it's the gift that keeps on giving" and boy that's been true

HOw have you been doing with transit Saturn in Cancer?? I've been okay, but have been having bouts of low moods.

I have Pluto, SAturn, Moon and Mars in Leo, so don't know that transit Saturn moving on in July is going to be any more fun

cristiname, I have Uranus trine Sun too, and it gives you an edge in psychology, do you study or work in psychology, law or medicine? Your pluto is a singleton so you must get pretty emotional or attract emotional partners.

Your sixth house cusp is ruled by Virgo which is ruled by Mercury. Look to Mercury and it's in Cancer in the 4th. So your passions would be about communication, but specifically the home, or the water. I would say you like to be near the ocean for one thing.

I haven't met anyone with Cancer/4th house, do you like films? writing?

Stay grounded

hold on, now...who're u talking about?
I don't get it!

my pluto isn't a "singleton" it conj NN,on the 8th cusp, squares the sun and venus, sextiles neptune, mercury and the MC, to mention just the ptolemtatic aspects...

my 4th cusp is in gemini, Mercury is in sag, conj neptune and the MC, in the 10th

and my 6th cusp is in Cancer, like the 5th, although most of my 6th is Leo... Virgo is intyercepted in my 7th - the whole sign...

my Scorpio Moon conj Uranus (chart ruler) on the 9th cusp; with Pluto in Libra and 8th - I guess it'd be easy to 'read' me as a therapist; relationships were my fav subject, but I excelled at group sessions (11th Sun-Venus in cap, mutual recep with the Leo saturn in my 7th - the public)

anyways....

the Uranus conj to my cusp got activated when tUranus conj my Asc and I left the field... I work in sales now, for a telecommunications company (Sagg MC, conj Merc opp Gem Jupi, in mutual recep);

the neptune in the picture is more of a hobby for now.... not sure how it will play it self out... I worked in the fashion industry for a while, organizing fashion shows and beauty-pageants. enjoyed myself the most, really.... but it only loked preatty on the screen so I kinda had enough after a while...

so... I take it you elaborated a bit on the 'work' subject and came up with the passion thing... I guess it helps a great deal when one does something they enjoy and even r passionate about... but that's like the 'lucky version... wouldn't u say?

I used to see it as Tyl said - job requirements... what u're expected of at work... and I figured it 'should' be about all those things my parents worn me about" life isn't about doing what you like, but about a million things you must do and DON't like"... the duty, boring, demanding part of a job - not the 'fun' part... I figured the 6th symbolises just that!

but I could've been too fast to judge (as I seldom am, with my Uranus square Mars, conj Moon impatiency and impulsivity).

you're probably right this much: the 6th could be seen as what one would ENJOY doing on a daily basis...

I see things from a Saturn perspective, you see... life is a LESSON ... it's less about enjoying yourself but more about learning stuff you NEED to in order to better yourself...

'm so NOT the 9 to 5 type that words like 'work' and 'job' are so NOT about passion but about all those nagging details one MUST go tru in order to express or fulfill their passions.... my passions are where my heart(Moon/Venus) lies...not my mind (mercury)...

my Merc-Nept conj opp Jup on the Gem-Sag make me a great story teller and photographer... but I'm not passionate about it, u know? I feel sorry sometimes, cos that talent is going down the drain...

but when I read a 'stupid' Agatha Christie mistery novel I feel ALIVE!

u know what I mean???

That Transit of Saturn in Cancer was horrible. It makes me wonder about people who have lots of Planets sort of jumbled in one Sign. I only had my Moon in Cancer to contend with.

I was reading cancergirl's chart in another post, and I got it mixed up with this one,

I don't know where my brain is lately

Yes AJ that was the worst transit ever, now Saturn is going into Leo, and I will have Saturn square Saturn in August. Luckily Saturn will not square my Sun or Neptune yet since they are in the late degrees.

The 6th house is about dedication and obligation much like the 10th, but it's right after the 5th, so it's the continuation, the obligation of your dream.
The 6th is ruled by Mercury, so it goes out, and communicates, passion has to be expressed and the 5th house is about the dream not the expression. The 6th is not very understood, but it's the bridge from the 5th to the 7th.
It's the physical expression of the 5th, which is usually the location of dreams.

The sixth is the house of communication, but not airy light ideas, it's the house of communication regarding urgent matters. Once you start communicating what's significant to you, then you are in touch with the sixth house. It's a very energetic house.

Whoah Nelly!

I've never heard these theories on the 6th. I'm wanting to believe since I have all my Scorpio planets in the 6th. Very EXTREMELY difficult energy to handle. But if what you say is true, I might focus my 5th House Sun's hope into my 6th House functions.

I'm almost getting it. It's not quite sinking in though. I think what tripped me is when you said the 5th was a dream and not expression - when to me, the 5th IS expression in an innocent creative way.
