Cutting off one's nose to spite one's face? Depends on how you look at it.

I got thinking about this through the Destiny Card thread; the website link suggested I would tend to make sacrifices for others. Consciously, I don't do that, in fact most people on the surface would tend to suggest it was the other way round.

However, I have had problems, as I guess most of us do, with relations, SOs, etc. and undergone several types of complementary therapy to try and alleviate some of the psychosomatic symptoms. Overall I find homeopathy more effective than counselling, particularly the single-dose remedies.

Yet still unwanted thoughts reappear occasionally in the back of your mind, and you want to get rid of them, and can't figure out why they won't leave for good. And it creates unnecessary pain. Then, one day, you read something, and think, "Now, why didn't I think of that before - that it might help if the solution was possibly REWORDED??"

The Destiny Card thread did it for me. I am not aware of consciously making sacrifices. Every time an unwanted thought about an unwanted person pops into my head, however, I am unconsciously SACRIFICING MYSELF (underlined) for their benefit. I am giving them MY time. Why should I even consider this? Why should I make myself feel bad because of them?

Do certain people care if you mentally sacrifice yourself? No, unless they are enlightened, usually not. Also, self-sacrifice can (need not in healthy cases) presume a certain acceptance of victimhood. Victimhood is tragic, and implies a degree of helplessness. Now, as an Aries, I would be loth to be seen as helpless - it being far more beneficial to take a leaf out of the book of the better Scorpios, and rise above whatever is bugging me - or annihilate it - or put it in a place where it can't irritate me. But on no account to allow it to taunt me for ever and a day, Amen.

(With Thanks to LL for expediting this revelation).
