Got a question to start. I know Linda wasn't a believer in being born on the cusp. But personal experience with people has shown me that people do exhibit traits of both signs when they born are within a few days of the sun sign changeover. I have two Aquarian brothers, yet one is born just a day before Pisces and he exhibits such Piscean traits, despite not actually having much water in his chart.

But most of all, there is the case of the amazon goddess I call my girlfriend. Born July 21 she is by Sun a Cancer with quite a few important plants in Cancer also, but my baby so fits the profile of a Lioness, that I can't explain. I read and read our compatibility in Love Signs, and I can't relate her to Cancer, which annoyingly enough puts astrological doubt in my mind. She is the strongest, smartest, funniest, sexiest, most commanding and talented creature I've come across, and unlike any of my many ex's, she doesn't take any **** from me (regrettably I've been a tad chauvanist in the past, no doubt thanks to my Venus in Taurus).

See if any of you experienced folk out there can lend me a hand in further astrologically understanding the love of my life (I can't recall all the house placements):

Sun in Cancer (1st house)
Moon in Sagittarius (6th House I think)
Mercury in Leo (2nd House)
Venus in Virgo (can't remember)
Mars in Cancer (1st House)
Ascendant in Cancer

Me: (can't recall my houses)
Sun in Gemini
Moon in Aries
Mercury in Cancer
Venus in Taurus
Mars in Leo
Ascendant in Gemini

I believe that you ARE whatever sun you have, but your sun is touched by the next sign, depending on proximity. People are going to say that there's no such thing as cusps, and say that these people usually have mercury, or a rising in the cusped sign, or other such factors, but the bottom line is, I've seen cusp charts with NO placements of the cusped sign and they are strongly influenced by that sign.

The first houses natural ruler is Aries (fire sign), and having her sun there would indicate a bit more fire than Cancers usually posess... Also, do you know the degree of her sun/mercury? Mercury being the planet of expression and communication in Leo is another indication... especially in the 2nd house, the house that shows the value we place on things, including sense of self-worth. (Leo here: Queen of the Jungle ) I think that ppl with their moons and venus in the same element are usually a pretty good team. (Just personal experience, not wisdom I'm afraid). Another thing that stands out is her merc is in Leo, mars in Cancer, your merc is in Cancer, mars in Leo... kind of like a working with each other thing.

Make sense?

Anyways, if you put up birthtimes, we can get a more accurate idea of things.

DOUBLE VENUS AND GHANI - now we're getting somewhere. To answer your question, Mars is conjunct Ascendant in her chart. What does that mean? As for degrees, the sun is 27.47 degrees Cancer, and Mercury is 10.19 Leo.

Her full birth details are 21 July 1983 3:55am in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Equal House chart seemed like the go when I've done this on the web.

HOT ICE - gotcha. It's hard for the Gem's ain't it? Have you read the attrocities on this board? We are the devil incarnate.

BATTLE - It's cause I'm looney bout my moon maiden/lioness.

BLUE ROAMER - ditto! I think cusps definitely are legit.

I have to agree with what has been said here - you are what you are- meaning, I don't believe in Cusps. If Cusps were true, then I would try VERY hard to be more of an Aqua Mars instead of Mars in Pisces (which is only at 1 degree..LOL).

Anyway, my guy is a Taurus Sun / Taurus rising and has a very Leo presence. I attribute that to being a First house Sun (like your girlfriend). That position does lend some MAJOR Leonine characteristics. ANY tight conjunction to the Ascendant and planets in the 1st house (close to the Ascendant) or the Sun in the 1st house will give characteristics of that planet to the personality.

I have a Virgo rising- but I have a tight Pluto / Ascendant conjunction in the first house. I am often asked if I am a Scorpio and I am told that I give a pretty penetrating stare.

The other influence you may be seeing is her Mercury in Leo, like a Merc in Virgo or Gemini- Merc in a Fire sign will also pull alot of energy. I have known people with Merc in Sag (even more subdued Scorp types) come across as chatty and blunt, therefore seeming like a Sag..but they just have a strong Merc placement.

First house Suns can be very "king of the Castle" like. My dad is a Cappy with a first house Sun and is also pretty Leonine in his approach. He can be very "on" and charming - just like my taurus LOL..

PIDAUA - Moon in Aries, well well. Any advice on how to curb the animal inside? I'll settle for the female perspective, yes, it usually hits the mark.

Thanks for your perspective, it does make sense to me. I must say though, just as a student of astrology, cusps are a fascinating concept. It seems to me it's really what makes everyone just that much more different, and the combinations as endless as the number of souls on this planet. Just imagine the psychological variety - You could be a Sun Sag/Scorp cusp, with Virgo/Libra cusp rising, and somebody studying your personality astrologically would have that much more a clearer picture of all the complex influences over you.

I personally think it's legitimate, as I've personally experienced not only with my girlfriend, but with my Aqua-pisces brother, whose chart contains nothing to indicated a Pisces or Neptune influence. How can the majestic sun just switch signs in a short period of time? Does is not shine into both signs for a few days?

Indulge me. Look forward to learning more.
