...it's got a nice atmosphere; everyone's real friendly and understanding of each other. My name's Margo and I haven't posted anything on here except for once a while ago, basically because I still don't understand astrology all that well (the houses, postions on charts, ascending signs....and the like), and I feel like if I want to say something, I should know what I'm talking about first. Anyhow, I know this'll be a boring post to read, but to those who do read it, I sure hope you know it's a very good site you've got here, and reading about people's relationships and experiences with other signs has done a great deal in guiding me through my life lately. I hope in the near future I can contribute some stuff to this site and make friends with you guys! -Margo the Virgo PS: perhaps if somebody has some time on their hands, they'd be able to kinda help me out with understanding nodes,...and, and, that kind of stuff? Man, i sounded like such a ditz just then, but seriously, I'd really be interested in knowing more than just my darned sun sign. I've gone to a few websites to try to understand how to read charts, etc, but I'm still not getting it very well. (i should try reading some of Linda's work). Hi Margola!
I couldn't help but notice how critical you are of yourelf through the whole post. Relax, no one is thinking badly of you. From what I've seen, most of everone here is amazingly warm and non- judgemental. Anyway, not everyone here is an astrology buff!
I'm not sure how complicated you are talking as far as casting charts, but if you are really just starting out, then you should get the book I got, The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need, it taught me all the basics when I first started learning. Then you can go anywhere from there.
There are also a ton of great sites posted in archives by cool people here (like astro.com) where you can get your own chart and interpretation.
Or you could probably post your birthdate, time and place, and someone will whip one up.

Hi Margola3 and welcomeI'm no expert and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I have learnt about the nodes, especially in karmic astrology, I think it goes something like this. The south node represents your past. Past attitudes, behaviour etc.. it is indicative of what you have learnt or how you used to be. Depending in which house or sign it is placed would offer you some insight into what this previous attitude, behaviour would be. For example, if it were in the second house or in Taurus in your natal chart in would indicate that in a previous life/lives you may have had quite fixed/stubborn attitudes towards things/people. You may have collected things - usually money or some form of possesion indicative of wealth or security. (This is a very brief and broad outline, by the way) you may have expressed this toward people, not just possesions or property. And as such you may show signs of this behaviour/attitude or trait in your current life. It is basically what or how you were. The north node, is the opposite, it is suggestive of what/how you could be. For example, if it were in Leo or the fifth house, it is implying that in this lifetime you should aim to express yourself, have fun or perhaps signify the importance of children in your life. it is a marker to the individual, offering them some guidance as to how they should best develop themselves in the present lifetime. Wow everybody! I really appreciate all that feedback! Thank you all for your suggestions and especially Viper for your synopsis there! I'll be checking out that astro.com and that book too! Yeah, I've just been bumping into all these sites that are really only after my money, and I wasn't feeling inclined to "order" a birth chart online and all that crap. Anyhoo, when one of you suggested that I post birth info, I wasn't quite sure what you meant by location. Does that mean what city or state I was born in? Welp, I'll post what I know of myself here anyways. Hope I'm not making myself too familiar- I don't think much negativity could come of me spilling my info though...
DOB: September 3rd, approx. 10:30pm
Location: Ithaca, NYI think I read a chart somewhere that indicated that since I was born the hour I was born in, my rising something or other was Gemini (?), in the 1st house I believe? Sheesh, I hope you haven't given up on me yet, this is really pathetic, but yeah, I think I read that somewhere. I'd appreciate anyone's help! You guys are so great! thanks for the warm welcomes and support!! PS: Hey Ayumi! I can't say that I'm any blackbelt, but I did take karate classes a few years ago, though I never got past white belt, even after 2 years of killing myself in that doujo. hot_ice gave you the three best links to start exploring yourself. Please go to www.astro.com. Right under the blue astro.com title bar is a section called "Free Horoscopes", click on that. Under "Please select your free horoscope" choose the section headed in gray called "Horoscope Chart Drawings" and pick "Extended Chart Selection". Click on "Add a New Person" and set yourself up. Then under "please select the type of chart you want" drop-down box, choose "natal chart wheel" and click on "click here to show the chart".
Once you've run that you'll have all your planetary positions.
At the "Horoscope Home" page, you can now click on "Portrait" under Astrodienst Free Horoscopes" in red. Down at the bottom of your "Short Report - Personal Portrait" is the text listing of all your planetary and house positions. Copy and paste that into here and we can begin our conversations!

Hi Margola,Viper gave you a good interp on the Nodes! Because the South Node is one we've kind of "mastered" along the way, it can also trip us up. It's kind of the easy way out or what we fall back on because it's so familiar. It usually takes some effort to become acquainted with our North Node energy, but well worth it. And then the idea is to balance the two. You forgot to put the year you were born  but maybe you're going to go to astro.com now and post your chart from there I love Virgos IP: Logged |

Why thankyou Azalaksh, I'll take that your nice words as a big fat compliment ha ha Have to add, doublevenus added a valuable bit of info too, I had missed that bit but, is very true, so thanks for the reviewed input. Thats what this site is all about, everybody adding bits of the jigsaw to get a better picture of the whole thing
Ha ha ha - just had a thought, if were all adding bits of a jigsaw - dont we end up with a puzzle????
