Hi everyone,
I wondered if someone wouldn't mind helping me out. For the past 7 months or so i've had major family turmoil (an absent dad after 10 years gets in touch and sets off a chain of events/arguments that has caused pain and breakdown of communication between me and my mother.) I wondered if there was something transiting my chart indicating this? i know it will work itself out somehow but its hard to deal with.

my details:
26/11/1983 Melbourne Australia, 9am

I'd appreciate any insight :-)

Hi SparklingSag,

I don't know enough to help you out with this, but I just dropped by to say hi and offer some support ; that is a tough situation. How're you dealing?

I have a Sag ascendant, and also going thru a really rough patch myself; maybe it's a tough phase for Sags! Well, hang in there!!

Never mind your chart, Sparkles. As someone who has been dealing with these issues long before I knew what transits in the heavens were indicating it, all I can say use your intiution when it counts towards understanding what to take emotional responsibility for.

I faught with my mother all the time about my father, and vice versa. Make sure you let BOTH of them know you won't have it. They should know better than to burden you with that. Let them know that if they each want to work on a relationship with you, they have to shift focus towards that and that alone.

I'm sympathise with your sucky situation.

HY SPARKLE,
WAS ur dad the one who left u and the family ,if thats so the only thing that i can think of is - who is he to dictate anything ,even if that is lack or absence of communication. may be it sounds a bit hard but it wont be that hard , if i can think of it in our conservative and joint fmaily system , i believe it wud be less hard to u there .
good luck . always wish u the best.

I have been in an eerily similar expeirence. Father left and Mother was bitter about his lack of participation in my and my brother's lives. When I did start to open the lines of communication with my father, my mother would make negative comments and speak very poorly of him, thus causing me to feel uncomfortable in talking to her about it, and often sparking arguments.

Personally, I am very wounded by my father's inactivity in my younger days.

I am a firm believer that we are all here to work through a series of life lessons. Holding grudges does not promote self growth, and I have decided in my heart to forgive my father for not being there, and to understand my mother's anger.

We often seem to forget that our parents have their own life lessons, and will stumble from time to time.

Look up your forcast at astro.com, perhaps there are some transits passing. I would assume there probably are, and If you want to post what you find there, I'm sure we can help you piece it together.

Be well, and remember you chose your parents. In understanding, these days will pass. And make you wiser.

Enjoy your day

Dear all,
Thank you for your comments....as I get older (i'm still young, 21) I am realising that my parents are humans too....and they make mistakes. Hopefully, things will work out. I should meet my father again,he left when i was 10 so i remember him well. Perhaps when I do it'll help heal some of the past hurt. Either way,i'll discover whether I would want a relationship with him. And yes, I agree totally that we choose our parents...so bring on the lessons. :-)

Its certainly felt at times to be a slow struggle! I'm not sure what it was though. From summer 2004- till now, its certainly been family/relationship orientated

Hi AJ,
How do I do that? Look on astro.com?
The family situation gets worse each time I speak to my mum.

Hi again,
Just looked on astro and this is what it said and it was accurate for the day I had with my family today.

Intense encounters
This influence indicates rather intense encounters with other persons and circumstances, which will reveal many aspects of your life that you may not have understood or may have chosen to ignore. In particular, it signifies that you may have power struggles with others, especially persons in authority, in which you will be forced to stand up for your position. On the other hand, you must avoid being overweening and domineering, because such an attitude will only create conflicts that you will probably lose, one way or another. Be careful not to place yourself in situations where you could be subjected to force or violence. Avoid places with high crime rates, or take precautions if you must go into such areas. Sometimes you can inadvertently draw violence into your life without knowing why.

The interpretation above is for your transit selected for today:
Sun Opposition Pluto exact at 04:15
activity period from 19 April 2005 to 21 April 2005.

OK - that's one good indication and example. Thank you for that. The most important lesson, I think, in that forecast is :::

quote:
which you will be forced to stand up for your position

This indicates to me that the "communication breakdowns" you speak of may be due to your struggle with doing just that. It can be really humbling.

As for finding what's Transiting your Houses, yes, go to astro.com. Once you've got your info in there, go to FREE CHARTS > EXTENDED CHARTS. On the dropdown menu you'll see on next link, where it says "Please select the type of chart you want." - choose NATAL CHART & TRANSITS. And there you go! Holla back.

Hugs sparkling sag

I think I have an understanding for your feelings. My mum left my birth dad before I was even born, and I haven't ever spoken to him. I was raised by mum and to who me is my dad. Anyhow, my mom still has a lot of anger and resent for whatever happened, and gets mad and bad mouths my birth dad when I ask her questions. I think that maybe you also have some questions, and its too bad that maybe your mom doesn't understand. You are really brave for riding out the storm, it will get better and hopefully you will receive closure from the events of the past.

Deira,
Thanks for your sympathy. Its always nice to discover that you are not alone:-) The situation goes up and down. I have suggested family counselling with my mum as I see no way out.

hello Sparkles

I stuck the data thru my humble astro app.
used Placidius house ... did not take into
account of maybe daylight saving ... Dec.
in aus be summer i be thinking of

came up with asc 23 Leo
MC 8 Gem
moon Leo 12th house ??

so .. a quick look at some transits over the past
7 months or so ...

Sat has been .. by transit .. squaring your natal Venus
as it went retro 'n direct .. so 3 hits .. but now past
... i understand there may be connection between
Sat and the father in astrology ...

Uranus has been squaring your natal Sun .. now
just past your natal Uranus ( just past your IC
into your 4th house )

transiting Chiron has been squaring your natal Pluto
and Lillith by transit is just about square to your natal
Pluto

.. in my own experience Sat to natal Venus transits
have been some of the most difficult on an emmotional level
... hang on in there .. i'm sure your Sag faith will get you thru it

trivial note : Kookaburras have been seen arround these parts
.. i grew up in sydney .. find their appearance in europe rather
odd .. am hoping one will fly up to yorkshire 'n start laughing

i'd post the chart image with transits but have yet to figure how
to add an image pic. to these postings

all the best
si@HD

ps .. most folks here seem to know of this useful site
.. but in case u don't ... it's http://www.astro.com/h/index_e.htm

Thanks Happy Dragon,
That makes a lot of sense! I am glad I do have my Saggie faith...somehow it gets me through. And also I am never alone, even if i think I am, someone will come through for me:-)

hi Sparklz

[ ..also I am never alone, even if i think I am, someone will come through for me } .. i think that be one of the positive lessons that Sat tries to teach when it comes arround and touches Venus .. i have Sat sqr Ven in my natal .. and those times i've felt alone and unloved have been bolstered by the knowledge of having made solid long term friendships .. even though Ven sqr to Uranus seems to dictate some sort of separation from close ones ...

... have been told that Sags have an inner voice that tells the truth .. your inner voice will guide you ..

yeah a comp.programme would let you see your transits back over time as well .. so you would pick up on planets that have been going retrograde .. actually looking back at past major transits can be quite revealing

ps .. may have allready suggeted this .. but in understanding Sat in your life .. search arround for Liz Greene's book on the subject
Saturn making freinds with an old devil .. prob listed here http://www.astro.com/people/greene_pub_e.htm

here be an intro to one of her books http://www.happydragon.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/A.F.L.G.html

Hey again,
Thats really spooky about Saggie and the inner voice. My intuition is strong and i've learnt to listen to it over the last few years and I have had angelic experiences when i'm going off track in my life. The family situation is easing slightly right now. I have decided not to see my father this summer. I am going away to America for a year and don't want a huge emotional upset before I go....I may start a writing relationship with him through letters....i am little worried that I wont get closure from it all...and that'll hold me back? To be honest, he only wrote me a birthday card which was last november so...he hasn't made up for 10 years really.
