I'm Touchstone. I have been into Astrology since I was sixteen when I stumbled across a book at my Gran's house: Sun Signs by Linda Goodman. That book blew me away and I read it from cover to cover and had to rush out and buy my own copy! That's what started me off on a hobby that has given me much joy for sixteen years. I now have a 'small library' of Astrology reference books! Love reading!

My chart is as follows:

Sun- Gemini 20 degrees 5th house
Moon- Gemini 12 degrees 4th house
Mercury- Gemini 27 degrees 5th house
Venus- Cancer 1 degree 5th house
Mars- Cancer 18 degrees 6th house
Jupiter- Capricorn 5 degrees 12th house
Saturn- Gemini 11 degrees 4th house
Uranus- Libra 14 degrees 8th house
Neptune- Sagittarius 3 degrees 10th house
Pluto- Virgo 29 degrees 8th house

Ascendant- Capricorn 22 degrees
Midheaven- Scorpio 29 degrees

I hope that I will soon feel at home here!

...makes me think of viking runes ... a special person once gave a book on the runes ...
... took a trip out by Whitby and went pebble collecting ... then made some runestones
from yonder beach stones ( including a bit 'o Whitby Black ) ... but the runes have always
told the truth ( to my amazement ) ... but ..according to the author .. there be something in the
physical touching of the stones that gets the communication a' going

anyways .. i be new here as well .. seem to be a fair few folk with a Gemini influence on this forum
... reading Linda Goodmans' books got my interest in astrology sparked in '80 ... but it wasn't till
a major relationship bust up 10 yrs later that the spark of interest turned to fire ... from then on
it was observation and research .. and collecting relevant info

maybe shouldn't do this ... but as i've bought umpteen copies of this book and given them away to friends
maybe the author will forgive me ... so .... this one is excellent reading ( intro only )

To HappyDragon - Whitby: I love the place! I see you are from Yorkshire also. Whitby is like my spiritual home, especially the old East side, being on the cliff at sunset watching the sun slipping into the sea. Dreamy!

As for my user name, I have a collection of crystals and tumble stones that I like to meditate with. Touching and holding them sooths my jumpy Gemini nerves and I refer to them as my touchstones.

will post some more info about viking runes to you ... can understand Whitby being your spiritual home .. wish i had a gaff in the old part of town !! and a boat to get me up to the Faroe Islands once in a while ( my spiritual home ) .. have always fancied the idea of spending time on the waves

.. for now .. this is a good book ... "The Book of Runes" by Dr Martin D. Rayner ... am going to type out the preface and post it here at some stage... the pebble beach i was on about be just north o' Whitby (mile long sands .. or similar )
