Hi all .. thought some of you may like this .. evidently penned by a 14th century SamuraiI have no parents: I make the heavens and earth my parents ..

yeah i got a chuckle out of same .. was tempted to add ring thru nose .. or something to that effect :-) .. was reading an article about Uranian influences in the charts of people who practise marshall arts .. wonder if the above will appeal to uranian types it's been on my wall for ages .. still trying to figure it
some of seems to relate to the signs .. e.g the eyes ..scorpio ?? IP: Logged |

HD ~Yeah, I could see the "eyes" one relating to Scorpio. Also the Magic Secrets! Others?

Means - Aquarius How so, "the Uranian influences in the charts of people who practice martial arts?" I know a Pisces at work who has just gotten deeply involved in karate, and he's started talking to me about meridians and auras and the other more metaphysical sides of the martial arts. He showed me a photo of the lights projecting out of the figure of his sensei and asked me if I knew what it was and I floored him by answering Kirlian photography. So he let me do up his chart and he's got Uranus in Leo. What houses or aspects did the article describe? Can you link me to it or tell me where I can find it? Thanks & looking forward to more of your writing! I would guess you have Uranus in Cancer (with the wonderful square to Neptune in Libra!) -- are you involved in martial arts? I want to get my son into classes this summer.....

Re: New Brighton, happy to tickle the chords that sent you down Memory Lane! I've only been here for 8 years, I'm a transplant from Seattle. If it weren't for all the water, I would have had a much harder time adapting to my exile. Chinese astro book .. do a search for Suzanne White by author (goin' by memory) ... about MN?? .. the people and variety of easy to reach restraunts .. the lakes .. thanks Loads for book links .. would Love to see a copy of the Neptune in 3rd .. YES PLEASE 'n thanx !! ... did i play on that trak?? .. i plead guilty ( kareoke trak for Train ' Commin' :-)) .. the Band? .. ) ... hey Merc in Scorp and WtrSnake ... would love to hear your playing .. is there a hypnotic quality to it .. with Plutonian depth ?? ... yeah evidently the chinese elements have a 60 yr cycle per sign .. had your year figured when you mentioned water .. although in this one small book on Le Snake .. for water it has "Snake on Grass" .. Good idea! It would be interesting to see if there are any common denominators for an affinity to music. I've read about my Pisces Moon that "music is a natural language for you" but I'm certain there's more to it (astrologically) than that. Hey Simon, don't want to mislead you -- I don't play very much. I bought the Martin myself because I missed having an acoustic (gave my D28 away when I moved here since I couldn't fit it in the car), but I was given the Tele by an old friend who only wanted to have one guitar when he moved onto a small houseboat -- he kept the Gibson ES-175, boy that had a mellow sound....and I only just got a practice amp for it last year.
Off to dig out Liz's Neptune & see if I can get the chapter copied tonite.

Some of those old sayings were used at times when the power of the people-at-large needed to be reigned in, controlled, etc. I've been into the I-Ching forever, and some of that stuff is very poetic and can be applied to modern life. However, I've noticed that many of those "codes" of life cannot be obtained or mastered at the drop of a hat. Some you can. Some are simply a matter of attitude. But some are truths which befall one after much trial & error in life. In other words, some can seem quite elusive, perhaps, only maintained for short spurts, then lost again only to be searched for (elusively) again ... ... some are even learned at completely unexpected Ah-Ha moments, during the most inopportune times.
