Razz ... hi ...

this article has connections to Neptune and a psychotherapist/psychologist/consellor's chart.

Hi,
I've had counselors over the years
A Leo and 2 Sag. The last was the absolute best. I think we had compatible moon signs, though our suns were square (I'm a Cancer)
I think that perhaps this was good, we were compatible on a emotional level yet she offered a great new perspective.

I have a book on Chiron by Barbara Hand-Crow and she mentions the majority of therapists she's studied has Chiron in the 11th house~ or Aries. I have both, but i still don't understand Chiron adn what it means. I will have to look again.

I do know 2 Aries who are therapists, neither of which "got me" if you know what I mean, but were very well-meaning and sincere. I also knew an Aries who is a Psych professor at UC here in my town.

it's more difficult a response than you think!

there are many forms of therapy, and so there r many sorts of being 'good' at it..

just to give u an example, there is a behaviourist therapy with an Aries flavour,
there's hypnosis - a pisces thing, Psychoanalysis - a pluto/scorpio thing, rational-emotional and somato therapy, where emotions=Cancer, and touching=Taurus are the main idea, transactional analysis - probably an Libra-Uranus (groups) thing, drama-therapy = Leo, of course,
and the list goes on...

there's group-therapy - where an 11th load would help,
relationship therapy - probably Libra and the 7th, having to mediate between the parties/spouses,

so... it depends!

there r a few qualities that I think r a must:

Tyl says that a 8th house Moon is the "natural counsellor" - that being the house of other people's self-esteem and all, I agree... a therapist should be supportive in gaining self-esteem and self-worth.

than, there is "tolerance" - a therapist is to accept and tolerate ANY beliefs and values of clients, not be judgemental or critical... so an Aquarious/Uranus load for tolerance of 'weird', plus RX Jupiter for perspective and acceptance and a "nice" Saturn to let others breathe...

and, of course, they musy care for others, be able to put someone else's needs FIRST - and this is the tricky one some people become therapists in order to satisfy their own need for being important and needed. such people encourage dependance and weakness...

someothers are naturaly sparkling and need to be in the light and can't take the back seat...

and afterall, it IS a matter of compatibility - a helpful sinastry, where the therapist's planets make just the contacts you need to help you grow and find the resources inside... people bring out stuff in another... for good or bad

and one more, VERY imp thing...
when someone in need comes to you for help, you should resist the urge to take advantage of their (temporary) weakness... so it's also about power-games and Pluto.

a natal Pluto-Moon square (and other stressfull aspects between Moon and Saturn and Pluto) I find to be particulary adverse to a genuine position in someelse's advantage....
having been manipulated and controlled emotionaly as a child by ur mum makes it natural for one to do the same with others, to protect themselves... but that may not always be helpful for the others....

THANKS everybody for your response.

Cristiname, what do you mean by 'nice' saturn. What would you make of moon conjunct pluto in 11th house in libra with north node in the same house; an empty 8th house in cancer; Rx chiron in 5th house in taurus; uranus in 12th house in scorpio in this regard?

LOL, Cristiname, you pretty much layed out my chart. But then again I have been told over and over again that I am a natural counsellor and my mind definitely tends towards an emphasis on the psychological. Being a Libra with a 12th house Sun, Gemini Moon in the 8th conjunct Chiron "the Wounded Healer," coupled with having Mercury, Venus and Pluto in Scorpio in my first house. PLUS Rx Jupiter in Pisces. Also my Mars in Aquarius hehe I'll stop now you get the point

Onwards towards my Astrology/Psychology goals... at least I know what I'm good at

look, raaz999...this is the best answer I have for you:

once there lived a very wise man...the powerful king heard about him and sent his astrologers, and palm readers, etc. to study him and come back with a confirmation that the legendary man was indeed as wise as the legend said...

time went by, and the readers return. very puzzled by what they had found. the man had every sin/flaw/bad sing they knew.

the king didn't know what to make of it, so he went to the Wise Man and asked him directly: My astrologers/palmreaders/magicians say you are a very mean spirit, and you have every flaw possible in the human soul... how come everyone thinks so highly of you, how come they consider you a Saint when you have the spirit of the worst Sinner.

and the Wise Man replied: your astrologers speak the truth. I am all that. I am imperfect in every way, and my nature is indeed evil. But I chose to fight it and everyday I resist the urge to do evil, and fight on the side of Good.

so... it doesn't matter really... if your motives are good, so will you!

it's not an easy job...good luck!

My sister is a social worker, and she's working on her MSW in children's theraphy. She's an Aries and has the moon in Cap in the 8th house. She loves kids and is a natural listener, everyone always goes to her for advice or a shoulder to cry on.

Hey Raaz ...this is an interesting question... not too certain myself...maybe a well placed Pluto, Chiron, Moon, etc... (not precisley sure what "well placed" would be). Some nice Pisces influence with other more grounded aspects in the chart. I would also add some Virgo in there!

Do you have any particular chart in mind?

So if you are still interested, I can give you my details. (looks in anticipation )

Nice to meet you Aries Chick,

My little sister is very much an Aries. She goes after what she wants, and usually gets it. I'm very proud of her, she just turned 22 this past April and she's doing so good in life. Recently, she took a pay cut and switched jobs. She was working for an Accounting firm and accepted a job at a preschool, because she loves helping kids.

This is what I found for you from one of my books~

Neptune in the 7th: Marriage and partnerships are your blind spot. Your idealism in this area may lead to a marriage or partnerships that are either apiritual and psychic in nature or which will disappoint and hurt you.

Mars Conj. Neptune: Astrologer Grant Lewis called this the most "powerful magnetic aspect in the horoscope". In self aware people, itmay well be exactly that becasue it unites physical and spiritual energy. In practical terms, this means the psychic healign ability may be evident and that you may have the innate capacity to manifest what you desire. On the darker side, this aspect may result in impractical goals, scattered energy, and peculiar romantic involvements.

Hey Raaz,

Here's some things that may help you decide that...

For your Cap Sun/Libra Moon:

10-7 Capricorn/Libra
The combination of your Sun sign and your Moon sign produces a personality that is drawn in two opposite directions. The nature of Capricorn is highly disciplined and cautious, while Libra is rash and impulsive. What tends to result is a rather positive persona, with a sort of inspirational faith in your own infallibility, a bit the eccentric at times, but generally a very amiable individual. You like people, but the driving force in your nature may be more material than humanitarian. You are not very romantic, and there is a detachment about you that belies your real need for people. You are extremely social, and like to have people around you, but at the same time, you do not warm up to them very quickly; you are somewhat proud, a bit suspicious, and as a result, you remain aloof. You have a talent for mixing socially, however, and for getting along well with your superiors using a tact and diplomacy that assures progress in business interests. You capitalize in business, or in a profession, on persuasiveness and a friendly attitude of diplomacy. You very much dislike direct conflict or hostile situations, and your instinct to do the right thing to preserve peace and order is generally appreciated by all. Your talents also feature the ability to exercise sound and impartial judgment, especially in a business environment; the ability to mentally balance things, criticize and compare. There is a certain mental foresight that lets you see the flaws in plans before they become reality and cause problems. This well-balanced mentality is well backed by serious purpose and thoughtfulness, a desire to get ahead and assume responsibility. Maintaining balance and equilibrium can prove to be the key to your success and happiness. Your interests in business are enhanced by your ability to win others to your point of view by persuasiveness and utter charm.

For your NN in Libra/11th HS:

1. North Node in Libra (or 7th house)

With North Node in Libra, our South Node is in Aries. With North Node in the seventh house, our South Node is in the first house.

A tendency to rely on the self so much as to alienate important others in our lives, to be excessively competitive to the point of a me-first attitude, to take things personally, and to be impatient, rash, and impulsive at the expense of personal happiness are some of the issues this position suggests. With this position, we need to work on sensitizing ourselves to the needs of others, to learn tact and cooperation, to put ourselves in another's shoes, and to let go of an overwhelming self-consciousness that is blocking our desire to win. We are often afraid of the demands that a partner might put on us, and we don't naturally look for feedback, preferring to act on the moment—on our own hunches and impulses. But for however hard we push ourselves, our plans will be blocked until we stop to consider the other side. We tend to go it alone, often passing up opportunities for growth because we are too focused on our own personal survival. Our impulses and instincts are overloaded, lacking in perspective, and acting upon them will often bring us strife—that is, until we learn to look at the other side, perhaps through the eyes of another. Through partnership, and through cooperation with others, we will attain the inner balance necessary for us to achieve our goals.

2. With North Node in the eleventh house, our South Node is in the fifth house. (or With North Node in Aquarius, our South Node is in Leo)

A tendency to become overly attached to the drama of romance and personal relationships, to be willful and overly focused on getting what we want, and to resist being "one of the crowd" in an effort to stand out as unique and special, are some of the issues this position suggests. With this position, we need to let go of our fears in relationships by offering freedom to our partners instead of expecting our partners to act as we want them to act, to accept that we are all equal and that we can still be special if we belong to a community, to move towards greater impartiality, and to cultivate sensitivity to the needs of others. By letting go of the strong desire of getting what we want in the here and now, satisfaction will come more easily as we find that we get what we need. Our personal relationships and romances will suffer when we take things too personally, and expect others to follow a certain script that we have unconsciously written for them. Learning to let go of the need for drama and attention, and moving towards a more objective approach to our lives, as well as cultivating true friendships, will help us to achieve a greater sense of balance. Our relationships with others—as well as our relationship with ourselves—will benefit.
