I just wanted to say that Jane Fonda rocks....not just because shes my bday twin, and shares my rising sign (dec 21st cap rising), but shes such an amazingly open women. I saw her on Jay Leno last night, and shes incredibly articulate and expressive. She made a great comment about how people can be strong and weak at the same time, and theres not necessarily one trait you can alwasy pin on people. I think I will buy her book.

Well I suppose you can like her, as for me, not a big fan. I guess I still hold a bit of a grudge for the way she acted all those years ago when my father and brother were fighting in Vietnam.

Jane Fonda is a LEO!!! Her Sun is 29 degrees Leo--therefore anorectic. No wonder she has image problems. I appreciate her talent, love a lot of her movies, and I give her a lot of credit for just keepin on keepin on. Hey! We've all made mistakes in our younger days.

Yeah she really blew it with those comments, but shes a fire sign and she realizes she made a mistake. My sun is 29 degrees, and I have no image problems, so there :P

BY the way shes not a leo, do some research!!! Dec 21st!

I saw her on the show too and was stunned by her comments. Also she walked in so elegantly. I wonder why was she wearing a scorpio brooch on her dress?

BTW if she is born on dec 21, I very much understand why she was involved in Orgies I doubt if it was her husband who pushed her in to it.

I'm just curious, why are the Fondas so famous? I'm only sixteen, so I've heard of them, and I've seen a couple of pictures of Jane in this book that I love called the Best of Life (best of Life magazine's photography), but I really have no idea except for the fact that they act.

I think she's great!
I saw her recently on the Bravo channel, "Inside the Actors Studio."
Being that Jane Fonda's a Sag, she's refreshingly honest about everything she says kinda of like the sign of Aries I think.
Anyway that doesn't surprise me that she talked about being involved in orgies. Most Sagittarius' are very uninhibited about there bodies and sex in general especially if they have heavy Scorpio. Being that Jane wore a Scorpio brooch makes me think that she could have some Scorp there?
Anybody know her chart info?

Her most recent husband, Ted Turner is a Scorpio.

I like her honesty too. (she shares my sun sign, Sag as well)

Just wanted to comment - not everyone is comfortable with Sagitarius honesty...not sure why that is.

The Fondas are famous because they've all been in watershed movies, movies you may call ahead-of-their-time, or even avant-garde, as Barbarella was (Jane), or Easy Rider (Peter).
It's disappointing that people still vilify Jane for what she said and did 35 years ago. You would think she would have been able to live down youthful (although very public, and very Sagittarian!) indiscretion by now.....
Their dad Henry Fonda made gobs of movies -- The Grapes of Wrath and Mr. Roberts are my favorites......

She's a traitor. She can never be forgiven for what she did to my former comrades-in-arms.

I think it's a good thing Sags are blunt. Yes, there are ppl that might have a problem with hearing the truth. Actually that's probably all of us at some point in our lives, but I think they usually NEED to hear it anyways..

Wow.. attention issues perhaps?
I had a friend ( she is still my friend, actually) who would lie about the silliest things, and turn them in to dramafests.
I didn't hold it against her, as sometimes it was entertaining, even though I knew I was entring a world of make believe.
ONe day I simply said to her.. :you, know, I am your friend, I like you for your spirit and personality.. not your stories.. why do you lie all the time? You don't have to.."
She didn't take it poorly at all.. just said she didn't know why, and left it at that. I think she appreciated my honesty, and I wasn't judgemental with her, just curious. Still, she seeks me out when she needs advice on bigger things.. She tends to lie to herself even...
Just a story, nothing about Jane Fonda.

Other sources have sited her as having her Sun at 29 degrees Leo. Which would be quite a bit different than 29 degrees Sagitarius or Capricorn as far as image issues. Stars don't always give their right birth information. Kathryn Hepburn claimed to be a Taurus but she was often sited as a Scorpio.

I like her conviction and strength, but not the way in which she has gone about getting her point across. she is an idealist~ i cannot down her for that, but she's not balanced in her approach. I just can't support anyone this opinionated and lopsided. So i'm not a fan.

a celebrity involved in politics is a joke. The celebrities lead priveledged lives. Whats an extra 10% tax hike when you've already accumulated your own wealth ya know? I believe in earning your own living not disempowering others by throwing money thier way.

Anyway, her heart seems to be in the right place. I guess.

WildFlowrs.....what sources cite her as a leo? I can't find any.....I'd like to know the truth, because I've always felt like I identified with her as a person, and if shes a leo that would confuse me.

These sites say shes born on dec 21st... http://www.nndb.com/people/637/000022571/ http://www.rotten.com/library/bio/entertainers/actors/jane-fonda/ http://www.factmonster.com/ipka/A0750249.html http://celebrities.adoption.com/famous/jane-fonda.html

http://www.snopes.com/military/fonda.asp

The actions detailed there (and, to snopes.com's credit, the ones debunked) have earned her the ire of quite a few people; the following in particular provoked anger:

The most prominent example of a clash between private citizen protest and governmental military policy in recent history occurred in July 1972, when actress Jane Fonda arrived in Hanoi, North Vietnam, and began a two-week tour of the country conducted by uniformed military hosts. Aside from visiting villages, hospitals, schools, and factories, Fonda also posed for pictures in which she was shown applauding North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gunners, was photographed peering into the sights of an NVA anti-aircraft artillery launcher, and made ten propagandistic Tokyo Rose-like radio broadcasts in which she denounced American political and military leaders as "war criminals." She also spoke with eight American POWs at a carefully arranged "press conference," POWS who had been tortured by their North Vietnamese captors to force them to meet with Fonda, deny they had been tortured, and decry the American war effort. Fonda apparently didn't notice (or care) that the POWs were delivering their lines under duress or find it unusual the she was not allowed to visit the prisoner-of-war camp (commonly known as the "Hanoi Hilton") itself. She merely went home and told the world that "[the POWs] assured me they were in good health. When I asked them if they were brainwashed, they all laughed. Without exception, they expressed shame at what they had done." She did, however, charge that North Vietnamese POWs were systematically tortured in American prison-of-war camps.
To add insult to injury, when American POWs finally began to return home (some of them having been held captive for up to nine years) and describe the tortures they had endured at the hands of the North Vietnamese, Jane Fonda quickly told the country that they should "not hail the POWs as heroes, because they are hypocrites and liars." Fonda said the idea that the POWs she had met in Vietnam had been tortured was "laughable," claiming: "These were not men who had been tortured. These were not men who had been starved. These were not men who had been brainwashed." The POWs who said they had been tortured were "exaggerating, probably for their own self-interest," she asserted. She told audiences that "Never in the history of the United States have POWs come home looking like football players. These football players are no more heroes than Custer was. They're military careerists and professional killers" who are "trying to make themselves look self-righteous, but they are war criminals according to law."

There's some other stuff, but it's detailed in the link and at a few other places on the net.
Alot of Vietnam Vets and their families (and, apparently, the good folks at snopes.com ) have never quite forgiven her.

----
For the record, I don't really feel one way or the other about her. I think she's lived her life, made mistakes, has learned from them, has let people use her, and has worked her way out of those relationships - nothing more or less.

I guess I hold a bit of a grudge against her. My Father and my brother each spent 2 years in Viet Nam. My Brother was injured there.

But it is not black or white, only grey!!!

Live your life Jane.

I understand, Bluemoon.
I mean, I can't say, "I feel ya," because I wasn't even alive during Vietnam, but I don't think that my Mom has any warm n' fuzzies for Jane Fonda (her brother was a Marine Engineer in Vietnam - and he came back fairly messed up from his experiences).
She has said that while she opposed the war, she never participated in the protests - she grew up right outside of DC, so she had ample opportunity - because of the disrespect shown to servicemen by some of those protesting.

I saw her chart a long time ago....that showed 29 degrees Leo....and I believe it was in Horoscope Magazine. That's the only astrology periodical that I buy....and that's because it has the month's ephemeris in the back, the daily aspects forming, and even the planetary hour guide. Well, Mountain Astrologer has better quality articles--that's for sure! I don't read many of the articles in Horoscope--that isn't it's strength. Mountain Astrologer is rather expensive...but I can read it at a local cafe for free sometimes.
Those sources may be right....I've gone all of my life thinking she was a Leo. Way back when she had that shag haircut I was told that I looked like her. I don't resemble her now...wish I had that bod though. I don't know why there would be discrepancy between sources of her birth data....but that is rather common with celebs. I still like her though. She has been a huge talent. And as far as the statement that what she did is unforgiveable....there is nothing unforgiveable. We all have to forgive--it our responsibility. And we have to forgive ourselves. If you don't forgive Jane Fonda, you won't be forgiven!!!

I would have to say I don't think Jane Fonda rocks. I think she is a great example of rich hypocritical Hollywood elitist. (I have no problem with people being wealthy, it's the last three adjectives I have a problem with).

I don't think very much of Jane Fonda - mostly because the whole Vietnam thing.

What I don't like about celebrities in general, including Ms. Fonda, is that they, IMO, abuse their celebrity status when they spout their political ideologies as fact - but I should probably be angrier at people who will take a celebrity's word as fact merely because they're a celebrity (because of celebrity worship, etc).

The only movie I can recall seeing her in, off the top of my head, is Barbarella, and if I had to judge her acting based on that, I would be forced to say she sucks. But I've heard she's a good actress, and that she won an Oscar?
