Yes, Earth sign can definitely be brooders as well! But I suppose we are taking "brooding" to mean more intoverted as opposed to more extroverted

Great topic!

Growing up, I was told many times that I was moody and to stop brooding. The thing is, I'd be completely unaware as to what others were seeing in me, since it was just so NORMAL to me. It made me very self-conscious because (apparently) brooding only looks good if your James Dean or Johnny Depp. I'd be thinking to myself "this is how I am - GET USED TO IT" ...

Brooding is probably a place one goes for privacy, you know? It's a step back from the world, and at times what we see looks bleak. However, a brooding person does not necessarily think of themselves as being negative or sad since many thoughts are NOT negative or sad. It could be our style of reverence for life.

But from what I know of my Chart, I'll tell you what I've learned has contributed to my brooding :::

* Moon in Cancer, which to top it off, is Opposing my Jupiter in Capricorn.

* Venus in Virgo in my 4th House.

* Mercury, Mars & Neptune in Scorpio in the 6th House.

* Venus, Uranus & Pluto in my 4th House.

* Mercury, Mars & Neptune in my 6th House.

* Chiron in Pisces in my 10th House

I suppose having my Sun in Libra in the 5th, my Moon in the 3rd, and Saturn in Capricorn in my 9th makes me even more self-conscious because on the one hand, I'm thinking "get used to it", but on the other I'm like, "I don't want to be a killjoy either!"

By the way, let's take a look at James Dean - he's got :::

* Moon in Scorpio

* Jupiter in Cancer (sucks optimism) as well as Pluto in Cancer.

* Mercury, Venus & Saturn in Capricorn, which is Opposing his Jupiter & Pluto in Cancer by Sign.

* Mars, Jupiter & Pluto are in his 8th House.

Johnny Depp

* Moon in Capricorn

* Mars, Uranus & Pluto in Virgo in his 2nd House.

* North Node in Cancer Opposing his Moon by Sign.

* Mercury & Venus in his 10th House (he married a Capricorn).

* Chiron in Pisces in the 8th House.

(PS: I've never known a Virgo who didn't brood - so I'd say that 6th House is an indicator as well).

Hmm...interesting post AJ...

The subject(let's just call the subject B) I'm talking abt here has moon in 4th house. Would that make the person a brooder?

Other potential brooding contributions in the persons chart:

Moon(Taurus) Square Saturn(Aquarius)

Saturn(Aquarius) Square Neptune(Scorpio)

Moon(Taurus) Opposition Neptune(Scorpio)

Oh and the person here also has Chiron in Pisces...in 2nd house.

B often broods, says he/she'll get over it etc, stops brooding for one or two days, starts brooding again, says he/she is just going through a small phase, but sometimes B is very pessimistic and has suicidal thoughts...other times B will just stay quiet, but u can see in his/her eyes that B is not feeling good, u ask what's wrong, and B won't answer, and will just go somewhere where he/she can be alone...it's like a circle...brooding-happy-brooding-happy...very difficult to make this person feel better, because the happiness that this person displays is most of time, superficial.

thosa -

Yeah, I'd say that 4th House can contribute to brooding unless one comes from very positive & optimistic family surroundings.

As for the Moon Square Saturn, I'd venture to say that too, since I know what a harsh Moon/Saturn Aspect is like.
