I'm gonna have to go with Frederic Chopin....although I'm biased because I love classical music. But in my mind he beats out greats like bob dylan, the beatles, thelonious monk, bach or beethoven, simply because his style is so unique and pure and divine. If you've never listened to any chopin, you better before you die. Some of his best stuff:
Etudes
Ballades
Nocturnes
Waltzes

Chopin was a pisces. March 1st 1810.

I pick Jimmy Page, Capricorn. If I knew much about classical music I might change my mind, but I don't so.... Jimmy Page.
Oh yeah, and Randy Rhoads too can't forget him!
Also Roger Waters (Virgo), and Kurt Kobain (Pisces). Kurt's music was simple but memorable, and original. That's hard to pull off.

hey Blue Roamer,
I just saw a Polish movie about Chopin, called "Desire for Love". It was pretty interesting. Maybe you've seen it?

I don't know enough about classical music to give an opinion on who I think is the greatest musical genius of all time- but I do know enough about music made in the past fourty years . So if I were to choose from that era, it would be Jimmy Page or Jimi Hendrix for musical genius, Bob Dylan or Roger Waters for lyrical genius.

Page- Capricorn
Hendrix- Sagittarius
Dylan- Gemini
Waters- Virgo- huh, I always thought he was a Pisces.

Lots of mutableness.

Oo, yeah Everlong, Hendrix, that's a good one too. I'm just in love with Roger Waters coz he shares my birthday, and of course coz he wrote "Is There Anybody Out There". That's freakin' brilliant. Simple, catchy, ya know. The music not the lyrics of course, lol

Oh, what about Jim Morrison?
You've all named some really great ones. Keep um comming.

Beethoven was heavy on earth..... he had a taurus rising and sun moon and merc in sagittarius, but all three in the eigth house (theres the scorpio)....

Beethoven had NO water in his chart....one might hypothesize that all the emotion in his music was his effort to get in touch with his emotional side.

Kurt Kobain DEFINITELY a genius....john lennon too, prehaps much greater than paul...john was known to be the creative mastermind behind many songs/lyrics

blue roamer,
scoot your but over
I considered adding John Lennon to Paul MCCartney but didn't because he didn't have the natural ability to pick up an instrument at random and play it.
I don't think they make an instrument that Paul doesn't play (my deciding factor)

cg: Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's sign was libra..13th october.

I think Bono is a very good singer..cappy.

Rob Zombie(I just love Dragula & Feel so numb:P, but not the stuff of genius hehe)...again cappy..

Abhijeet - Leo

Sonu Nigham - Leo

I think the music industry is dominated by cappies..seems like that when looking at this thread.

Ok so Randy Rhoads is.. err was a Pisces. I love Randy! Crazy Train is brilliant! Another one of those simple, but catchy things. Nobody has mentioned Eddie Van Halen? Not my personal favorite, but some would beg to differ. Eddie's a Taurus.
