I seem to be a breed apart, other women of my age, come across as "resigned" somehow, like they are saying "well thats the way it is - kids, husband, home etc etc" and heres me, as passionate, enthusiastic, and at times as intense as I was as a young woman. I dont wanna lose this feeling of intense joy and sadness all mixed up together, it feeds me and keeps me ALIVE!! I think the Scorpio women (and perhaps men) out there understand what I am saying - I always felt there was a sort of tragic feel to the sign, especially when Neptune is strong. I met a Scorpio woman in the playground today and I am sure she thinks me mad. She admitted she has never been away for a weekend on her own, her life for the past 20 years has been as a mother and wife (she also mothers her husband - yuk)! Is it just me or do people give up on the joy of life too soon - me NEVER, I shall be the mad old woman who still sings, dances and chases young men (LOL)? What do you guys think, I find this is another thing in my life, which can ibe very isolating to be surrounded by ordinary, joyless people - sorry guys dont mean to sound negative, just being my usual reflective self . For you guys out there who have posted stuff about friends not being there, I am slowly coming to the decision that I am becoming my own best friend !!! Love to all

Sue, I am with you..
When gals of my age settle down to a family life, i still seek for love of my life.
mostly i find wrong guys, cries a lot and then moves on
Ofcourse friends ask me when'll i mature/grow up.
I have no doubt that i'll be the same passionate, mischievous self till i die
its natural for me

Sueg- Be happy Be joyfull Be enthusiastic and if you feel young ACT young.. there's nothing freaky about it. I'm pretty young so I can't really put myself in your position but I don't like the idea of giving up on 'having fun' and reaching a point where all you have is being a wife and a mother (not that it isn't a nice, important part of life) but when you get into a daily routine like that.. it's very time consuming and your life passes you by I think.. I like your attitude.. Try not to let other people's negativity get to you.. negative ppl tend to get to me as well, but they shouldn't lol ..

How bout a change of scenery or a holiday some place? could you do that? I think it'd help..

Sue, if you are a Freak, then I am one too! I am 45 1/2 and very immature for my age! We will always have joy in our lives if we create it!

SueG: I know how you feel, even though I'm *only* 30. Live your inner child. You can be a "responsible" woman and still have fun, and you know it. It's not like your son is suffering any from your direction in life. I'm very sure your enhancing his for the better. There's joy to experience! Why live how "society" wants you to live? Dragged down into the doldrums of "woe is me... I'm a wife, mother, provider, and I just *can't* make time for myself". Now, isn't that a load of crap? You can still be EVERYTHING you wanna be, and that does not rule out having FUN while you're doing it.

My maternal Grandma always tells me not to grow up. I try to buck the trend of most of my friends and follow's G's advice.

Btw, on the Scorpio side: I would go insane without relief of the "dark side" of Scorpio. You need playtime. *Darth Vadar imitation* "Fly like the eagle you are... it's your freedom from the Dark Side of Scorpio."

hi sue g,

i relate with what you're feeling too. in so many ways. a lot of my old friends from growing up are "settling" down. not that there is anything wrong with that. to each their own, and i came to terms with one friend that i would let our friendship go where ever life turns and let time and experience set the pace. because i too had wondered if i was growing apart and transforming into something she couldn't relate with. but i have come to terms with it and am happy where i arrived at in our friendship. there is so much in the material and spritual worlds to explore, so much inside of me that still tends a thriving garden of passionate visions and pursuing things like growth, experience, relating, etc. i know the feeling of being aware of the mystical fires inside of the soul, communicating with it, meditating, and breathing out into the universe to gather strength, to let die if something must die, to undergo illness if something must go under illness in order to capture a special message, and re-create anew again. a natural trust in all that mother nature has always known since the beginning.

like a very dear friend once said to me, "eagles don't travel in packs. you have to find them one by one." it's a special thing sue g.

ciao,

aphrodite

Hi Sue,

I think people find joy in different things. One person may find the complete euphoria in settling down, raising a family and doting on their spouse. Other's find unlimited happiness in pursuing their dream, their careers..etc...

The trick is to find what makes your heart sing and follow that, regardless of the people that may come in and out of your life.

There is a saying...about a reason, a season, a lifetime.. people come in and out all the time, we teach them, we learn from them, then we move on.

Find where you feel you can make the biggest difference in life and that is where you belong.

I am a Sag, what you speak of is inherent in most of us Archer ladies. Sure, we may settle down, but we never give up. I am always in pursuit of my dreams, traveling, loving, crying...life if a passionate quest for me.

I am also in a relationship and one day we will have kids - does that mean I will be the conventional mom- staying at home, never going out on my own? Heck no!!! LOl...my Taurus already knows this about me - he only asks that I not put my wanderlust before him or the family easy enough...as long as he lets me dream and travel

I have been in your position (and in a way I still am) because I have said goodbye to many friends that chose different paths. I still care about them, but I know that we all grow apart and take different directions in life.

Sue G, I think that is very kool. Pretty much how I see myself in my 30's, and 40's and all the way on up there. I know this girl who's goal in life is to get married, and have kids. I swear to God I don't understand her. She's only like 24, and that's all ahe wants. I, on the other hand, would like to live my life before tieing it to down to obligations, and keep on living even if I do. Enjoy yourself. That's just my opinion.

So rock on girl! I think you are an awesome roll model rather than any sort of "freak" as you say.

Well, I'm 24 and have dreamed my whole life of getting married and having children.
I've had my time of chasing, catching and drama. I thought the purpose of doing all that was to find your soulmate?

With you all the way hon. I too am an 'older' woman - had a lot of sadness as well as happiness in my life - my kids are grown up and almost independent - me I'm growing old 'disgracefuly' and trying my best to embarass them but cant seem to do that - they just think its great I'm enjoying life at 'my age'.

Leoelf~ congrats to you for knowing what you want and having it in you to state your feelings. I only have one concern, and it was when you said
quote:
I've had my time of chasing, catching and drama. I thought the purpose of doing all that was to find your soulmate?

As Aphrodite and Pidaua said, to each his own. I don't think that settling down and finding joy and excitement in life are mutually exclusive.

You used the word "drama" and that has different connotations for different people. For some, drama means anything that rocks the boat. Some people, couples even, enjoy making some waves. For them, it keeps life fresh.

Others find a comforting security in placid waters, and there is nothing wrong with this either. The important thing is to know what it is you really need, and to find someone (if that is your wish) who can accomodate that.

For me, drama is something that results when one or both people have no idea what it is they want and everything is chaotic and counterproductive. Learning and changing throughout one's life, as a self and as a couple, does not, for me, constitute drama.

*I realize that you didn't force your views on drama upon anyone. I just wanted to make the point that one person's "drama" is another's paradise!

sooz ~

If you are "a breed apart" then I want to travel in your pack! Or, share your eyrie.....
I couldn't possibly say it any better than the other bright and expressive ladies ahead of me in this topic, so I'll just say 'don't let go of that inner child!' When I grow up I wanna be just like you -- never mind that I'm "several" years older than you! You are certainly not alone and you are not a freak! I'm going to copy in the lyrics of a song I like that kinda applies here....

quote:
Some of them knew pleasure
Some of them knew pain
And for some of them it was only the moment that mattered
And on the brave and crazy wings of youth
They went flying around in the rain
And their feathers once so fine grew torn and tattered
And in the end they traded their tired wings
For the resignation that living brings
And exchanged love's bright and fragile glow
For the glitter and the rouge
And in a moment they were swept before the deluge
--Jackson Browne

You keep on keepin' on, girleen!!
Loves & Hugs,
'zala

I have the same attitude for the most part Sue. Mars in aquarius, asc Gemini, and Leo moon definetly help.
I constantly challenge the conventional whether it be marriage, etc..saying "well what if I want to move to egypt and become a nomad". I think it's more of a state of mind/mood that you are regarding to, atleast that's the way I see it. I just don't like to feel boxed in sometimes and like to dream/contemplate...because life is too short and there is so much to see/do/etc. I think the joy/adventurousness/youthful attitude in which we pursue/handle things isn't limiting in that we don't want to grow old or be responsible/accountable, instead it's the way that we deal with things (when I get married I'll go probably go about it with that same earnest youthful curious joyful attitude..), and I personally carry that attitude in whatever it be I deal with for the most part. Some probably could view it as immaturity, being unrealistic, etc..but it helps me cope and take a load off to better deal with the tasks at hand. I think it's great that you are that way, you are probably a fun person and very positive.
