As some of you may have read, Laguna Beach, CA is making national headlines this morning, when several homes began to slide. http://www.ocregister.com/

I live on the next hill over, less than a mile~ and our town has been overrun by the media. Evacuees are being sent to a children's park nearby, where I often take my four year old to play. Needless to say this has been a very surreal & incredibly devastating morning.

I went ahead and created an event chart for Laguna today with the time at 7:30 AM (which is when slippage was first reported.) Since I have very little experience in event astrology, I thought maybe we could talk about this. Here is what I have come up with:

The Sun was at 11:11 degrees Gemini, in the 12th house.
Moon was in Aries SQ Cancer Asc making a square/opp to Jupiter in Libra.
Venus& Mars are SQ~
Pluto & Venus OPP
Sun, Uranus, SQ
Pluto & Mars SQ

That is sad. Laguna Beach is such a beautiful place.

Good to hear you are ok!

So sorry to hear it's hit so close to home with you. As you'll remember, I was in the crosshairs of the famous quadruple Florida hurricane hits last year. It takes a long time to sort of catch up on one's rest, and such. I mean MONTHS! Especially when you watch the local news cuz that's all they're talking about 24/7. There is no way I'd live in a house built on some potential mud on the side of a hill. NO WAY!

I'd say GET OUT NOW! But you'll understand, I'm very afraid of earthquakes and would take a hurricane over them. Know people who have a house in Cali in similar mud/hill form, and over the years, the earth under the house has deteriorated. I don't get it ...

Nevertheless, I know the views are spectacular, and the weather is nice. No argument there. Home sweet home.

I'm glad you brought up this interesting topic. The first thing that popped into my head before reading the end of your post was, Mars Square Pluto, and it IS there! Combined with an energetic Aries Moon Squaring a Cancer (of all things) Asc, AND harsh aspect to Jupiter. Those are the ones which stuck out at me the most.

All my best wishes go to you and everyone struggling with the unexpected/unrehearsed/unpredictable, and especially to you.

aww thanks TP and AJ,

AJ, AstroCartography is something I would like to study. I must do some research into good books~ Is there a section/class here in LL?

Anyway, our home is on solid bedrock..we had a soils/geo report before we bought...and we don't have any houses above us, so we are relatively safe. This particular slide is believed to be an ancient slide dating back several hundred years. The most recent was in 1978 in nearly the exact location. Lagunatics are like sparrows, they just keep coming back and building in the same place..safe or not.

Thanks again for your well-wishes.

lovely...I saw this in one of our local (Toronto, Canada) papers. Good to hear your home is safe. I live in somewhat of a valley, and have thought about what would happen if there was a great flood...also near some nuclear reactors too. Hard to a find "safe" place to live.
