Venus (11th Taurus) opposite Saturn (5th Scorpio)
Venus trine Jupiter (7th Cap)
Jupiter sextile Saturn

This is one of the most significant aspects in my chart, even though it doesn't have an actual name to it (ie: kite, T square). How can Jupiter help with the opposition??? I really want to deal with this, because it seems like the opposition aspect is the cause of most of the relationship issues I have and want to really understand it. I pull away and sometimes express myself as cold and strict, but I'm not really like that. I don't know how to put them all together though....please please help...any of your thoughts are fine.

Venus opposed Saturn
The opposition between Venus and Saturn shows emotional frustrations. Indeed, this is a depressing aspect as the harshness of Saturn weighs heavily on the affairs of Venus such as happiness, harmonious relationships, artistic endeavors, and financial security. You may look at your accomplishments with continuous dissatisfaction, underestimating your self-worth. You may not have received the encouragement that you needed when you were younger, and you tend to shy away from competition because of a resulting lack of confidence. You may have to make concessions to others to maintain normal relations. Often you wonder if it's really worth the effort. Avoid a tendency to undervalue yourself and your ability to make a worthwhile contribution. The development of a positive attitude can be your most valuable asset. http://www.astrology-numerology.com/astrology.html

Venus Trine Jupiter
The trine formed between Venus and Jupiter shows that inner poise enables you to view people and circumstances with optimism. Negative elements don't disturb you much because you're so sure everything will turn out right. It's hard to be depressed around you. It's rare for you to share your difficulties with anyone, preferring to work them out on your own, with little or no fanfare. You have an outstanding talent for handling people, and you will no doubt succeed in fields where this can be put to use. Your sense of ethics and social decorum is also strong as you strive to be your best. You reach out to people with sincerity and honesty. Vulgar and ill-mannered individuals really turn you off.

Jupiter sextile Saturn
The sextile formed between Jupiter and Saturn shows the good business attributes of caution, prudence, and good organization, combined with optimism, enthusiasm, and expansion. You are thus able to carry through plans and fulfill your obligations, earning respect in your business or profession. You are respected for your honesty and integrity.

Thanks pixelpixie!!

"You may not have received the encouragement that you needed when you were younger, and you tend to shy away from competition because of a resulting lack of confidence"

That's so true. I was in competitions when I was little, but after a while never really liked it. Though I have a competive streak in me a bit, I tend to shy away from competitions because I don't like being in the spotlight that much, which mostly results from a lack of confidence. Interesting.

"Often you wonder if it's really worth the effort. Avoid a tendency to undervalue yourself and your ability to make a worthwhile contribution. The development of a positive attitude can be your most valuable asset."

This is soo true. It really plays out in my relationships. I automatically think "why bother?" as soon as I feel the guy isn't as enthusiatic about spending time with me as I am with him. I just figure I did something wrong and it's just too much effort..which is not good at all if you want a lasting relationship. Then I tend to feel like if I put myself out there, I'll embarrass myself because I said or did something stupid. Guess it's the whole self-confidence thing, which I am having major trouble with when it comes to relationships. Kind of sucks to have Saturn in the 5th as well. My self expression comes off as guarded sometimes.

But I guess Jupiter will save my butt if I expand on this planet's qualities right? Like if I make the effort to be more optimistic and aware of how I come off in my self expression, the opposition might just make sure I don't get toooo optimistic.

lol, writing this out I just realized that all this time, I was focusing more on the opposition and letting it take lead. If I do the reverse, I can maybe get Jupiter to take charge.

I dunno...is that the way to interpret it? I'm not that good at interpreting a combination of linked planets..:/

Moonstar,

You said in your chart you have:

"Venus (11th Taurus) opposite Saturn (5th Scorpio)

Venus trine Jupiter (7th Cap)

Jupiter sextile Saturn"

Breaking this down using the "astro-sentence" of SIGN modifies PLANET focused on HOUSE you have:

Taurus modifying Venus focused in the 11th house opposite Scorpio modifying Saturn focused in the fifth house

Venus trine Capricorn modifying Jupiter focused in the seventh house

Jupiter focused in the seventh house sextile Scorpio modifying Saturn focused in the fifth house

Using "keywords" you have:

Taurus (physical) modifying Venus (physical) focused in the 11th house (friends) opposite (energy is over-excited by) Scorpio (transformation, also control) modifying Saturn (structure) focused in the fifth house (dating)

Taurus (physical) modifying Venus (physical) focused in the 11th house (friends) trine (energy goes very easily with) Capricorn (structure) modifying Jupiter (expansion) focused in the seventh house (relationships)

Jupiter (expansion) focused in the seventh house (relationships) sextile (energy goes easily with) Scorpio (transformation, also control) modifying Saturn (structure) focused in the fifth house (dating)

Which indicates:

physical energy focused on friends is over-excited by structured control in dating

physical energy focused on friends is goes very easily with structured expansion in relationships

structured expansion in relationships goes easily with structured control in dating

Exactly what this means is up to you (since only you know how you use your energy), but possibilities is having a desire for some sort of physical, materialistic friendship leads to great expectations in relationships and a need to control the dating process.

Since you have a strong desire for friendships (Taurus/Venus is also "desire"), perhaps you could let your relationships begin as friendships and see where they take you! And if things become too "cold and strict" perhaps it is because the relationship is not being structured in a way to your liking...then maybe it is time to make a new friend!

If you are interested in learning basic chart interpretation, learning to use the "astro-sentence" and astrological keywords will help simplify the task of astrological chart interpretation. More information is available here: http://www.geocities.com/wilsontctc

Trying to help,

Tim

Tim,

Thank you for that wonderful interpretation! It was so logical. Makes sense too.

"Since you have a strong desire for friendships (Taurus/Venus is also "desire"), perhaps you could let your relationships begin as friendships and see where they take you! And if things become too "cold and strict" perhaps it is because the relationship is not being structured in a way to your liking...then maybe it is time to make a new friend!"

Very true. I'm not a control freak or anything, but I seem to come off a bit cold when I don't see things going in a way that I like. Guess I need to temper that. I need to know where I stand, I guess is my point. I was never good at casual relationships. I take them all seriously, which is the essence of a Venus-Saturn contact. But this works against me where I am perceived as not being as open as I could be I guess. But then I feel that I don't need to, since I have a good idea of what I am looking for, so why waste time? It just comes off the wrong way I think.

Your interp gave me food for thought.
