Where would one think to look for this in a chart? I read all sorts of sexual desire stuff with astrology all the time...but there's never anything about lacking it, natally or through transits, so I'm definitely wondering...I was thinking, maybe Uranus aspects to Venus or Mars? Or maybe Saturn to those in the sense that Saturn creates restrictions. Or how about Venus making hard aspects to Mars?

It really depends on the chart. Would you like for me to look at something?

Been wondering this also.

All I could find for now:

Venus and Pluto

Conjunction
sexual repression, obsessions in love, and financial ability.

Gemini sun, Cancer rising, Taurus moon

Neat TP! I didn't even think about slow Pluto with Venus...hmmm!

I also just found this:
Mars conjunct Uranus: You have unconventional sexual attitudes.

Venus square Uranus: You are attracted to people of the same sex or have an unconventional sex life.

I mean that doesn't come right out and say "low/no sex drive" but the small but growing community of those considering themselves asexual is in a sense unconventional, at least from societal norms.

Aphrodite, you are welcome to have a gander at my chart . I posted about this because I was getting so irritated at people asking to look at it (not here) and then interpreting my Mars in Scorpio in 7th, or my Jupiter in Scorpio in 7th, completely by itself, and absolutely insisting I have this massive libido...it just doesn't correlate with real life me!

You could consider the possibility that none of us are born with a low sex drive, that that condition is more a product of environment.

I don't think that having Scorpio placements in your chart makes you any kind of sexual deviant at all. I've got Scorpio in Mars as well, and I was pretty old before I learned how to enjoy sex. I think that perhaps Scorpio placements mean that you'll be able to really enjoy sex at some point, and not that you're going to be seeking it in an inappropriate manner inconsistent with your personality.

I've considered that possibility but also considered the other possibility as well, and even the possbility that human sexuality runs more along a bell curve.

No, I don't think Scorpio placements are any sort of sexual deviance. I don't really know how I implied anything you're talking about at all.

But really, all I was asking was what would potentially show low or no sexual drive in a chart, as things in astrology do show a high one, and energies in astrology can run either high OR LOW or balanced, and well seems like sexual desire is the one energy that's neglected to show the low side.

virgotaurustaurus,

Venus in Virgo is its fall in this placement. And with it in the 5th house of self-expression, pleasure and sex, it is a possible answer to your question. Venus is about desire, attraction, partnerships, and sharing. In this chart, it is stressed with 2 T-squares and will probably be a deep issue that you will think about for the rest of your life here on Earth. Chiron in Taurus conjunct your Taurus Moon and creating one of the T-squares indicates that this is a deeply sensitive issue for you and is one of several causes of secret pain inside in your heart. It affects your self-image (1st house) and how you wish to relate with others. Perhaps bringing this topic up will draw people who share this as well? Have you read Venus Trines at Midnight by Linda Goodman? She has a poem in there about Venus in Virgo that is insightful. Venus squaring Uranus indicates that your personal nature is erratic and that you're highly independent. How you feel about sexuality will have a deviance from how the rest of society feels about it. Naturally, this causes stresses indicated by the square with Mars in Scorpio, and it's opposition the Moon. Because these placements are in the more extroverted houses, you are open to talking about them with people. There are many people who ask this question too and I am sure you will be able to connect to their thoughts and have interesting discussions.

Hope this helps

Aphrodite

Come over here, VTT... I'll get ya fired up!

Seriously, though. Do you feel that you have a lower than average sex drive? Or are you simply wondering why your chart seems to indicate a monstrous libido that you don't feel you possess?

future_uncertain ! Actually, both! I have a very very lower than avg sex drive, pretty much non-existent and always has been. I tried so hard in this thread to not bring it up here, at least in a personal manner, because I have been on boards that are for that subject alone and have seen the massive flamethrowing that goes on...and as you can see it definitely is a sensitive subject (pats Chiron on the back)!

But yeah I was mostly wondering why all I saw in my chart was that I was pretty much supposed to have this incredibly huge libido the size of the universe and wondering what I personally wasn't seeing as my level of astrology knowledge is kind of moderate...I still can't put everything together yet. The huge discrepancy between the things I can read in my chart, and what I feel in real life, has pushed me to want to stop studying astrology altogether, it has caused that much frustration, so I finally threw it out here.

Aphrodite, I'm amazed!! Your interpretation is so AMAZING, and it all makes sense to me, I just never was able to put it all together like that! I totally forgot about my t-squares, and keep forgetting how important Chiron is in my chart. Doh! I'm gonna have to print that out and pin it to my wall, I'm so impressed.

I would always correlate lack of sexual desire with
- weak Pluto
- weak scorpio
- weak ruler of 8th house
- empty 8th house
- weak ruler of 5th house
- empty 5th house
- strong Virgo

Venus in Virgo or Venus in Aries
(Never Mind the Sun Sign)

by Linda Goodman
Venus Trines at Midnight

People who learn passion from a book
the kind they mail in a plain wrapper
promising to teach you
where the erogenous zones are hidden
and all that other jazz

can develop cardboard hearts and
paper emotions
which fool some of the people all of the time
and all of the people some of the time
but not anyone real

Did you ever meet a champion
who learned the perfect timing of golf
from looking at pictures of Arnold Palmer
swinging a club?

Did you ever know a man
who learned the flowing motion of football
by reading about how Joe Namath does his thing
or even watching him pass the pigskin?

I mean, love has a rhythm too

To look at pictures
of people reaching for the miracle of sex
is like learning grief
from watching Corretta King's face on television
or Ethel Kennedy's expression
as her youngest child moves restlessly
among the shadows of the lawn

I look the other way
I already know

My heart learned grief by diving naked
into anguish
long ago
(though I've forgotten the exact day)

Maybe I've never dived so deeply
into that other urgent ocean of the soul
but I know this
People teach each other sex
and all those zones
if love was meant to be between them

to learn the words and music
of their own, alone and private song
together

So you read

One hundred and Sixty-Nine New Ways
To Arouse Passion

and I'll read

Lady Chatterley's Lover

What's wrong?

Did you think I was going to say Little Women?

I was going to say that I do not have desire some of the time, but that description of Venus in Aries is not correct at all for me. I would much rather read Lady Chatterly's Lover than anything else, but I can have control and usually am the more controlled person in the relationship. That has come from experience though, as it is expected of me, not something that I am.

My ex was a Venus in Virgo and we got along very well, but with me too, it was expected that he was controlled, he never wanted to be, only he would meet women who need to be fixed, or had sexual issues. He was warm and caring and healing, but not lacking in sex drive.

My 5th is ruled by Aries and Taurus, so maybe that is why, I am more romantic, but I can see the difference between romance and sex, and some treat sex like it's abuse, not love.
If a man wants sex, and treats it like a game or a sport and doesn't take it seriously it's abusive to me emotionally.

Being a Taurus I have strong emotional needs, so I get very swept away by emotions and senses, but I can stop myself from getting out of control if the person I am with is overly crude or ugly to me in some way.

For that reason Venus in Aries is not in detriment, it's the perfect counterpart to a strong Venus Sun, just as Venus in Virgo is the perfect foil for Sun in Libra, which would otherwise be somewhat vain and superficial for my tastes.

The Venus in Aries and Virgo are there for a reason and I don't believe in detriments or falls.

The sun in Virgo is not in detriment either, as Virgos are not humble and are actually strong and beautiful people. And very, very sexy.

My biggest crush was on a Virgo!

I think lack of sex drive is simply a plutonian problem of healing, there is an emotional or physical wound that needs healing;

Once I had a urinary tract infection and I didn't know it, I had an operation and they gave me antibiotics which they told me cleared it up as well as prevented infection after the operation. In the following weeks, my body felt incredibly alive for the first time in months! It was amazing. These low grade fevers and infections can really drain you.

Check your urinary tract to make sure it's healthy, drink plenty of water and take grapefruit seed extract. If you have a low grade infection or fever you will not know it and your body will not feel alive. Get outside and hike, explore the outdoors and feel alive. Once your body starts to heal, your skin will tingle and you will feel better and better about nourishing yourself with sex, which is just another kind of food, not something meant to drain you.

If you feel drained after sex there is something wrong, it should feed you, and make you feel more alive.

It doesn't have to be beautiful and romantic, but it ought to be beautiful for you. Whether that means watching porn together, or making love in a meadow, it's your life.

you know, I'm not sure how many times I'm going to have to write this, if I have to say it 100 times I will but:

-this is long term
-it has nothing to do with any of my partners (in fact the more sexual they are the more likely I am to dump them eventually, not out of fear, but out of incompatibility)
-it is not something I feel needs to be fixed, I was not looking for that here
-it has nothing to do with turn-offs
-it is not being caused by a transit
-it has nothing to do with a lack of emotional connection between me and someone else, i found that once, he was not sexual either and it was awesome
-my libido does not vary, it is nonexistent
-i was not looking for explanations outside of astrology, as i do not even see it as a problem that needs fixing.

I'm not even touching this thread again, I really wish I didn't even post it. If someone would like to delete it, I'd be absolutely more than happy to see it go.

Hi,

I really have no idea if Linda's poem offended you, virgotaurustaurus. It wasn't intended for malice or saying anything was "wrong" with you. It's just material to read and because one rarely comes across anything artistically written about astrology in the modern era.

I am glad you found the interpretation helpful. If you have questions, just let me know.

Take care

Aphrodite

Ahhh I just had to look! Aphrodite nooo it wasn't Linda's poem, that one made me giggle, I think she has a neat witty humor that shows through that poem and I understood that as being simply for Venus in Virgo...after seeing the interpretation I know that not just one planterary position will have to do with what I was talking about, so I can totally appreciate the Venus in Virgo/Aries poem.

I am also just rather touche lately. I might just have to come back to this whole thread at a later time (like when Moon is not squaring my sensitive biatch Chiron!)!

I found this at www.bobmarksastrologer.com

Vesta Aspecting Saturn:

Both of these have to do with the ability to focus. The harmonious aspects (sextile and trine) can increase the discipline, organization, and dedication that you devote to work. The stressful aspects (conjunction, sextile and trine) can make for a workaholic drudge or someone who has difficulties (Saturn) focusing on work at all. Needless to say, stressful aspects between Saturn and Vesta increase the chance of sexual hang-ups, especially repression and denial.

Check your Vesta..

How do you define sexual desire...hot, raw, steamy and passionate?? You do have Neptune in the 8th house, and a Sag 8th house cusp. Maybe you need more of an emotional, spiritual transcendental connection first?? Don't be too concerned with getting a high sex drive...maybe it's just not you. I guess if you find the right person things will be just right.

Plus I noticed you have Uranus in the 8th house....via your mind, creativity.

Also, back to 8th house cusp in Sag...once you get your desires running...it should get pretty expansive and all encompassing!?!

Cheers, VTT... I'm sorry that you feel offended.

I think it's great that you are self-aware enough to understand your drives... I liked what you said about the guy you dated with a similar drive and it was awesome. Good for you for paying attention to yourself!

I hope you got some of the astrological info you were looking for.
