So- what is everyone's personal experience with trying to guess people's signs?

I now realise I am absolutely CRAP at trying to guess people's signs from their appearance OR personality!!

Can anyone give me any pointers what to look for out for?

+ Recently, I've been trying to guess my teacher's signs. One has been bugging me for ages... if I describe him, can anyone else have a guess?
Rightio, he's very quiet, quite self-contained yet sometimes very witty and charming. Most of the time he'll look sort of serious or thoughtful but occaisionally has a moment where he'll say something completely random or pull a strange face. I'd say he's a Beta male but, still, no one *really* messes with him, he's a good teacher. He teaches science (if that helps)! Oh, and sometimes he cross-dresses. Ok, well usually for school things as a joke but he did once mention his passion ( in a moment of madness ).

I once had a Pisces teacher who was similar.
I think I've ruled out him being a Masculine positive sign, in general, but nothing's completely crossed off in my mind. Ideas????
