Anyone else? Have sudden infatuations, and how do they work out for you? Is it the faster you fall the more you trust, the better the relationship? I can never figure it out, it's as if I'm too close to see, when I trust too quickly I create love, when I pull back I make my partner hate me.

Do you have love/hate relationships and do they ever even out?

Of course there are other factors
Venus in Aries 4th and 5th houses
Mars in Sag/1st house
Venus trine Mars
Mars square Pluto
Pluto/10th house
Pluto semi sextile Ascendant
Neptune conjunct Ascendant

Hi sthenri, I have Mars/1st in Libra.
How have things been for you lately?
I think you are right about 'the faster you fall the more you trust', but I don't think it makes it a better relationship. At least not in my experience.

I have Mars/1st in Leo. For me, the faster I fall, the more I trust, the relationship ends. Cuz when I fall, the relationship becomes my whole world and I fail to see the person for who he really is. I've been having a love/hate relationship with this guy for 3 years now. Even though it's not working out I can't seem to get rid of him..

Yes, I think that's true for me too, but I can't stand lukewarm relationships either, would you want one of those??

Things for me are up and down, still living with the fact that my house isn't selling and I am getting more and more stressed about it since our area has had the freak weather pattern in years, but for that reason I have been spending more time with friends talking over wine.

So maybe that's good,

Natasha

Hmmm... I am also a Scorpio Mars in 1st, and I have never thought about this, but it is true that the faster and harder I fall for someone, the more I trust them and the relationship. If I develop feelings later, i always wonder why i didn't fall initially...

me too!!!

wait... but I have never fallen for a person after a long time of knowing them. It's a matter of days or nothing.

The more I delve into astrology, the better I know myself, and the less impressed I am with myself because that just sounds so shallow.

Mars 1st/Scorpio here too, as well as Venus Aries. I attribute the "love" at first sight to my Venus Aries, but I think more of my Mars in Scorpio as wanting what I want now combined with the ability to draw things/people. I believe that's Pluto's magic trick. The people that I've known who have sun conjunct Pluto really operate from the inside out. They decide what they want and draw it to them through sheer will power.

Unmoved, I agree with you! I'm the same way. (We have a lot of similarities and connections in our charts!) But, I have dated those who I wasn't attracted to at first and it has NEVER worked out. As a matter of fact, the handful that I have dated without feeling that initial "deeper" connection to have been my only regrets. Even after many years, I've felt that the only thing I've learned from those relationships is not to do it again!

I think that Scorpio demands/intuits/uncovers truth about the relationship right off the bat. (It's my Venus Aries that has allowed me to act against my better judgement.) So, I think it's something to listen to. Instead of thinking it's shallow, think of it as a built in radar! There's nothing shallow when it comes to Pluto!

I have mars in 1st in cancer. I dont like lukewarm ANYTHING when it comes to the romance department. I've had a couple instances where I felt things much later in the friendship (I say friendship because I treated every guy I ever went out with as a friend first) but in the end, I just didnt give the effort to do anything, probably because I got bored and didn't see it as a long term thing. If I was to start something serious with someone, it HAS to start with a big BANG, as if I've been hit by a truck. That will definitely make me walk, talk, act around in a daze as if I'm on cloud nine. And I love, love, love that feeling. But also, and I dont know where this attitude on romance comes from my natal chart; but if I was starting a relationship that seemed like it was going somewhere...I need a distraction (someone else) from not making me fall too hard too fast. I mostly have love/hate relationships with the way I am in relationships, not a particular person. One day I am on fire and the next, I need to pull back.

You see 8th... this quoted phrase above is the kinda talk I'd like to hear from people. I generally love being around people who have this type of mentality, because it means we have something in common.

seveneieghtorange - agreed!

I have had people say that I must give "us" a chance and the love will develop with time... and I didn't quite understand the concept. It's either I love you (romantically) or I don't, and it really doesn't take me decades to find out. I think that's why I have relied on my intuition when it comes to romance, and I have disregarded everything else, including astrology. I know it's kinda rich saying that in an astrology forum, but it's the truth.

and that pulling back thing, from what I have been reading on these boards, with the cancer complaints running high, I read that Cancers do that.

Yep, Mars in virgo, first house

Hmm I dunno about the sudden infatuations, can decide I like someone on first impressions.......

I see what you mean about being almost too close to see. But I find it hard to trust though..

Interesting topic.

Mars in Virgo in the 1st
Mars conj ASC
Mars conj Venus
Mars conj Mercury
Mars trine Uranus
Mars trine Neptune
Mars square MC

My infatuations aren't necessarily with people but other things. I use to be really into dance, I started when I was 3 and I've gone through so many different types. I'll get very obsessive with one type, and then move on to another.

As for relationships I don't trust easily at all. I think it's more like I attract people that want to attach themselves to me all the time. Very rarely do I get infatuated/fall fast. I'm very picky/analytical overall.

LOL Unmoved. yes, the concept that passion and desire will eventually develop in time in a relationship is lost on me. Either I want you now or never. Im not fickle in love though, I usually stick to my first decision, sometimes blindly so. If I want it, Im going to have it and no one and nothing can stop me from having it. Although the question also lies as to: Do I want it now that I have it? But thats another issue...

That's the thing. It sounds fickle but I am not fickle at all. Once I have locked my cross-hairs on you, you (the target) are locked on me and I won't deviate from you until I hit "the target", or fall out of love (after a long time) ...so to speak.

It might seem that falling quick and hard is fickle but people must understand that it doesn't happen all the time. It rarely happens but when it does, it is powerful, real and true. just because it can happen in a split second doesn't mean it's not true.

"just because it can happen in a split second doesn't mean it's not true."

Amen, sister! I tend to think that these are built on some kind of spiritual connection that, like you mentioned earlier, transcends astrology. There can be thousands of people with the same birthdate and only one of them hits you with a lightning bolt. That definitely goes beyond the planets!

i know a guy with mars in 1st in capricorn. very explosive nature and yes, if sth does not start with a big bang, it doesn't start at all. but he also has neptune in 1st, and moon in 8th, i don't know how to interpret it, but there is this huge contrast between his macho nature and being hopeless romantic...
oh yes, he has hard time trusting someone....

This definition of Mars in first was hilarious!

quote:
Mars: If the lord of the 1st is Mars, or Mars is in the 1st house, out of sect, you may tend toward haste, are subject to cuts and bruises and may be accident prone. Physically you will tend to be thinner and more wirey (because the ancients thought the excessively hot and dry nature burns fat off more easily). If Mars is in sect, this makes the actions more moderate, controlled or measured, less violent, but will not be able to keep off the weight as easily. You will generally have a rugged, take charge disposition, and are feared, often because of a menacing appearance. Athletes, those who work in metal or iron, or more modern, the public utilities like trash removal, the military and police, and criminals are some of the common activities of these natives.

Speaking of obsession... I know that for me to achieve something, I have to be obsessed about it, so obsession has a good connotation to me.

It is how I get things done in short amounts of time. Obsession makes me go further than I thought I was capable - because it keeps one fanatically focussed on the prize - whatever that is. I have to breathe it, eat it, sleep it, talk it, and be totally consumed by it, to have/be it. That's how I achieve things.

I've done good things due to obsession, by working myself into a berserker frenzy. So, to me, obsession is good. It is useful for me.

I think this attitude of mine is due to my 1st house Mars, in Scorpio, which is dignified three times over I think because:

1. Scorpio's former Ruler is Mars
2. Mars is the Ruler of the 1st house
3. I have Mars in the 1st House

4. although we are speaking of Mars, my Jupiter is also in Scorpio in the 1st house, which expands...

6. Pluto- Scorpio's Ruler intensifies everything I've listed.

Unmoved - I know what you mean, I get so much more done if I'm totally into/obsessed by something, like it drives me on.

This topic is good
