Hiya Knowflakes,

Have you ever felt like someone has a very negative influence on you just by being there. Like their presence is so strong in such a negative way it completely throws you off balance and you feel kinda scared by them?

Or is that weird? Because I'm starting to think I'm being stupid thinking that or feeling that way when the person isn't doing something as such..it's just their whole aura, attitude..not what they say but the "way" they say it. I used to think this guy was nice years ago..Now he has a very cutting attitude and treats ppl like crap basically..like everyone's beneath him or something. Everyone sucks up to him..it makes me sick..somehow he sets things up in a way that makes other ppl scared of him and as a consequence they act like they worship him BUT bit*ch a lot behind his back..

All this wouldn't bother me(because it's towards other ppl) as much as the way he acts with me personally. He acts patronising, critical..acts like he's my dad basically - I know - WEIRD ..He's my age, well a yr older. I really don't think he has the right to do that. He loves putting me down to make himself feel better.. and he does that to other ppl also. He just has a very sharp, cutting attitude that completely rubs me the wrong way..

I feel restless, odd, scared around him..he seems like a bully to me. I try to stay away from him, but I'll always bump into him. It's like the more I don't wanna see him, the more I bump into him..

I also made a conscious decision to not be nice to him anymore and give him a piece of his own medicine..but that's going to be very hard because like I said he scares me.

I think the fact that I've always been very nice..in his mind that gives him a licence to act a certain way because he underestimates me..He thinks I'm not "strong" or something because I'm actually nice to people while he's a total prick..but you don't need to be abrasive and abusive to be "strong"..real strength is inner strength, it comes from the inside..and it involves being a good person..not strong in a bad/negative way (that just brings bad karma)..I really hope he learns his lesson somehow..

he is- Sun:Leo/Asc Libra..... me- Aries/Asc Gem
Moon: Scorpio....... moon - Capricorn
Mercury: Leo...... merc - pisces
Venus: Cancer...... venus - taurus (late aries but more like taurus)
Mars: Leo ...... mars - capricorn

So basically I'm just ranting..but I'd really apreciate some comments..I don't really know how to deal with him

His Cancer Venus makes him a bit domineering and parental, even controlling, plus that Moon and sun! I know a very similar chart, and he is either negative or positive, no in between.

Cancer Venus sees things in black and white I have found regarding themselves and everything is very personal. Just remember he is super sensitive and remembers every little thing. That is how he is powerful, he absorbs knowledge about you. Just keep your life to yourself and listen.

Being Aries that's tough and I have lots of Aries too so I know. It's necessary to be wired tight, keep it to yourself when you want to talk, and just smile and be agreeable. Do not let on what you are thinking so he can overreact.

Example I had a headache once when I was talking to this man, and instantly he thought it was about him and was very negative and sarcastic.

So now I never mention my problems except to go do something about them, in other words, I leave him alone, and help myself to some alone time which I need.

Good luck,
Natasha

Thank you Natasha.. I'd like to not give him any importance and like you said keep things to myself..and just keep acting nice (like I have) ..but I can't begin to tell you how frustrating he is to me..it's just hard to keep being nice to him.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some misunderstanding in the past where he thought something was about him and it wasn't..and acts the way he does because of it..that's possible

Either way I just hope I wont see much of him.. because he really bothers me

Thx again

hey yes. i do feel overpowered by someone eles auro a lot of times. especially if they are extroverts be it engatively or positively.

i feel my self overpowered by my mom's presence. she desires to dominate the scene. and when she doesnot get to do that directly she tries other tricks. she is very tricky in general. the first thing she does is try to break other focus and irritate them so that they quickly answer her stupid and suspious questions about situations or people.

for eg. i was talking to an aunt in my building and my mom was watching us from the balcony like a cat (leo sun) peeping out of the window out of selfish curiosity. then when i was home and thinking intensely about something she woul interupt endlessly and then ask her question. if unanswered she would ask again pretending she never ask it at th first place!

i completely loose balance and focus over my subject my mind was focusing on. i hate personal information diggers. they eventually try to get control over the scene and theu overpower us with the negative energies.

hehe lol Archer.. boycott him lol Well, I'll definetly change something in the way I act. I'll just give him less attention and not talk to him much and give him the occasional critical look/cold shoulder.. but I wont be outright mean. I'll see if that changes anything. I'd rather just not see him at all.

The reason that bothered me (what he said) is that for one I'm NOT an idiot..I know what grade I have to get at the end of the year..I have plenty of time till then..and I know what I'm doing. That particular test meant nothing and I barely even studied for it. When crunch time comes, when something's important ..even if I leave it till last min I still do my best and study all night if I have to and usually I nail it. I felt very patronised by him..and like he judges me and thinks he does it WELL..but REALLY he has no idea who I am or what I'm like..and it's sooo silly of him to understimate like that.

But that's just something little..if that was all he did I'd forget that no probs..but he's constantly doing/saying something with a mean overtone.

aries-chick, while i was reading this thread, i was thinking about my leo friend who treated me this way.
and this guy is also a leo..!
my leo friend first got my sympathy by telling her childhood stories - how uncaring her parents were and c**p like that. Then she started belittling me infront of her boyfriend(out of insecurity i guess). it went on unless i started giving her apt replies(eg, if she comments on my figure (infront of her bf) i would say, i dont care dieting since i wanted myself to have atleast some flaws )
finally i ignored her completely. before that i used to get goosebumps anticipating insults or melodrama.
I think ignoring will be a good idea to get rid of this guy

hi .. just been reading thru yer post .. there are ways to bring bullies to their knees ..
do you have his birth data .. i.e. for the full picture .. e.g saturn aspects etc etc ...
big egos are fairly easy to deflate .. also some ppl rely on other ppl being afraid of them ..
bullies are by nature cowards .. its a matter of finding the chink in the armour .. so to speak ..
and twisting a bit ..
post his d.o.b. etc if possible

I sympathise. Those thoughtless comments can really sting sometimes, can't they?

Archer, I also have a Leo mother who agitates me to the point where I avoid her, even though I love her, for the sake of my sanity. I get so tense just anticipating getting pummelled by her questions and remarks. Yes, I'm very sensitive, but she's very insensitive - nothing seems to affect her much! I guess she expects others to let everything just roll off their shoulders the way she does?

That sounds alot like father who is cancer like me. My whole life all he's been is critical and negative towards me. (not even constructive)It's weird because we have alot of the same placements in both our charts. But when I compared them we have venus square saturn both ways, which would explain alot. I don't talk to him that much but a psychic said I needed to get closer to him or I'll lose myself, but I feel suffocated around him so I don't know. My capricorn brother also feels the same way about him.

Yep...it sounds Very Leo Sun and Venus in Cancer.

I am with a Taurus with Venus in Cancer (which is also conjuncted by his Saturn). He can be very critical, over-bearing and downright nit-picking. He tries to put me in my place at times and lecture me... There are times I want to snap back "Look, I am not a moron -I have a solid education, two degrees, managed a large product launch, ran two labs and now I am in public health- give me a freaking break with your conscending attitude".

Some of it boils down to the on-going Leonine lectures of all those that he regards as minions in his Kingdom (My Taurus is also a First House sun...so can be very Leo at times).

Some of it boils down to a desire to "look out for you" As though the above lectures will ever save an Aries (or Saggie like me) from leaping before we look if we have already made up our minds.

The last part... well, just male insecurity. They seem to think that by acting like a father / brother / mentor they will be doing us some kind of favor..LOL....fire girls don't respond well to that now do we?

Have you ever confronted him? Tell him "Hey, I know you are trying to help, but I have made it this far without you guiding me in my life and I think I can do a great job without it. If you want to be my friend, then quit with the patronizing crap"

Say to him: "Ah, come off your high horse! Who do you think you are?!"
He will probably respond by saying that you are being very rude, and demanding an apology. Clam up and walk away. If he complains later, mention that two can play at being immature.

AC: The less power he has over you, the better. No personal information exchanged between you and him about YOU is a great thing. Probably would be VERY easy for all attention to be focused on him.

Thx everyone

hehee lols @ Pidaua and AT..Pid, I haven't confronted him..I wanted to, on at least 2 occasions where I was at boilling point but he left before I could get a word out..which was even more annoying..says his beef, doesn't wait for me to say anything and leaves

I want to confront him..but I don't think he'll react well to that. I think whatever he does or says when confronted will leave me feeling worse than I feel now..just a hunch

He isn't really the type to be straightforward unless it suits him. If he was being (or felt he was being) attacked he's nooooot gona like that. He *acts* like he can be lighthearted and take a joke and stuff but NO he can't at all.

I remember last year, this Aqua guy (who hated him) put him in an awkward situation..so he (leo guy) pretended it was all cool, no probs and laughed it off at the time..but it was such an act, you could tell he was fuming on the inside. And suprise surprise, who ends up completely beaten up in the next few days? YES u guessed it..

He's a backstabber..that's the prob.. If I thought by confronting him, I'd get a reaction then and there..I'd do it.. But I'm pretty sure he'll pretend it doesn't bother him at the time and say something like "ya that's you opinion"..BUT then I'm sure he'll do something to me, something negative behind my back..obviously he wont bash me with 10 of his friends like the Aqua guy..but he'd do something..

So I don't wanna make it look like I'm completely *against* him either. I'll try to put it 'nicely' somehow or not tell him..just act colder and if he asked why then I could tell him..

True that ScotScorp

I know people like that, but I'm not scared of them, they just make me very angry.
Leo stellium temper I guess.
I really can't help you, but if you ignore them completely(even if you do bump into them, just say as little as possible), it makes you feel so much better. If confrontation is nescessary, acting like what they say is not so important as they think it is, is the key. Take some lessons from a Virgo, and point out to him, every flaw he makes.

Thank you HD ..but can I just ask how come he's Virgo/Sag on there..that surprised me because Astro.com shows him as Leo/Scorp that whole day..and he really doesn't seem Virgo like..

his chart at astro..

for Leo (male)
born on 22 Aug 1985 local time 09:00 am
in Brisbane, AUSTL U.T. 23-00
153e02, 27s28 sid. time 07:12:57

Sun Leo 28°48'42 11 direct
Moon Scorpio 12°34'02 01 direct
Mercury Leo 13°16'42 11 direct
Venus Cancer 22°41'30 10 direct
Mars Leo 17°50'43 11 direct
Jupiter Aquarius 09°50'20 04 retrograde
Saturn Scorpio 22°03'32 01 direct
Uranus Sagittarius 13°57'46 02 stationary (D)
Neptune Capricorn 00°58'07 03 retrograde
Pluto Scorpio 02°23'13 01 direct

He has a few squares there in the transits..what would be a bully transit lol?

BoE, I know what you mean, I shouldn't be 'scared' of him..But I get bad vibes and it feels like he's unsettling I guess in a bad way..

One thing I noticed is he only has 1 mutable and a lot of fixed (on astro anyways) ..and I only have 1 fixed, a lot of cardinal/mutable.. anyone think that could add to him acting all disapproving of me (in that parental kinda way).. maybe I'm too easy going compared to him when it comes to well everything, uni, friends etc..whereas he's very fixed in his ways and pretty uptight.
