Hi all

I’ve thought about this for a little while - I think I understand the concept of elements…but do you sometimes think there’s an odd one out??

Look at the water sign - Cancer and Scorpio both seem like very driven, strong signs - be it in their careers, home life…whatever.

But Pisces just seems to be very…well bland at least in comparison.
Could it be because, they’re both ruled by powerful planets? And Neptune isn’t as strong? What about the other elements?

NeptunesNympe, Neptune is really far away. I think Pieces has a quite strength. You are so deep and intuitive.

lol actually nymph i kind of agree with u

pisces in water
libra in air
cappy in earth
aries in fire

i think

dont mean to offend any of the above signs

i always thot for ex. that the gems and aquas seem to band together and the libras are too mellow and nice and just not weird , eccentric and strange enough to understand most of the time. heheh theyre too sweet huh.

rest is just observation

Love
SG

BlueMoon: BM
TranquilPoet: TP
BlueRoamer: BR (for Bath Room, i guess i'm the head honcho of grossness)

Any others?
Yes this is waaaaay off topic

Hey come take a BM in my BR but don't forget the TP!

Yeah, I noticed that, but what about poor Future Uncertain when they call her FU?
Sorry Future, but it cracks me up when they do that.

ahh, u guyz are too much, poor Future..

I don't really think pisces is really an "outcast", I mean I think all three water signs happen to be very emotional, almost like sponges, pisces even more so. Pisces is just less volatile to me. That's the ONLY difference between them and the other two.

SG, Im curious to know how you think Aries are the "third wheel" of the fire signs, and capricorn of the earth signs
but I do agree about the libras and the air signs.

Hmm....I would've said it more like...

Cancer in Water
Libra in Air
Taurus in Earth
Sagittarius in Fire

Hah. As far as sticking out.

Scorpio and Pisces are more occult-y than Cancer. More probing, I guess. I don't really think of Cancer as all that mysterious or anything.

Libra seems more about aesthetics than communication (in the tangible forms, I mean). It seems to be more about beauty than communication. The whole marriage/one-on-one partnership aspect aside.

Taurus is more...I guess, self-serving than Virgo or Capricorn. Being ruled by Venus, it's naturally more artsy, I guess, too. I've read that Taurus can be kind of lazy, too, and I've never heard of Capricorn or Virgo being described as such.

Sagittarius just seems drawn in two directions at once, while Leo and Aries are more straight forward in what they want...Even though Leo can be manipulative...but still. Hah, Sagittarius seems more on a quest, while the others are out to conquer. If you get what I mean. :-P

I don't think this quite works as everyone has their own version of the truth. For instance, I'd make Virgo the Earth oddball, because I get along so well with Taurus...but then Taurus gets along so well with Virgo, so it's a circle. Like between a Taurus and a Cap it's a sweet, quiet communication. Between a Taurus and a Virgo it's a louder, flashier communication.

Oh, and Future_Uncertain doesn't mind her initials. She thought about changing her name, but then decided to keep it.

Oh, and Caps are as much or more artistic than Taurus', so that doesn't work (I'm being sensitive because I'm a strongly Libra influenced Cap who's very into art and beauty.).

Lets face it....everyones an odd ball and each sign stands out strangely in their own way.

I think sag stands out as weird for fire, saggies are so much more scattered than leo and aries, and can actually see past their noses when they need to

Cancer stands out weird for water, cancer is actually cut off from their emotions in many respects

Cap stands out weird for earth, cap can be absolutely rediculous and unconventional at times, they really can shock you with how inconsistent, capricious, and self centered they are, even more scattered than virgo at times

and Aqua stands out weird for air...libra and gemini are both obsessed with relationships, so is aquarius, but aquarians are ultimately loners and can't really relate to people in an emotional way..

personally on the surface, i've never really felt connected to pisceans. theyre so like far from any plane scheme or neighborhood id ever picture myself wandering down...

however, in reality, its deeper than that. i envy them so much. sometimes i wish i was a pisces, i wish i was so very strong with my compassion and just like a more spiritual person.

any pisceans wanna switch places? lol

I don't think there is an odd one out. It's all subjective and personal, really. Those signs we cannot personally identify with will most likely seem like the "odd one", don't you think?

I agree with AcousticGod, that in the long run, this is just a matter of opinion. I've had this discussion with others before about which earth sign is the least "earthy" and so on...

to me it's:

Virgo
Scorpio (kinda fiery, actually)
Sagittarius
Libra

But others would clearly disagree...

Nove- hmmm...
Just thought it was interesting to see someone else in my neck of the woods here on LindaLand. Nashville's not so bad.

well if you look at the sign rulership it would sort of make sense that;

virgo (ruled by airy mercury),
libra (ruled by earthy venus),
scorpio (originally ruled by firey mars)
and sag (originally shared jupiter w/ pisces)

would be the odd ones out~

Haha, not much to do around here, though, if you're under 21, and older than 12. :-P Well...except church anyway. Haha

I spent 3 years there while I was 18-21 yrs old. I think you're right! Was the most depressing time of my life.

nove- Well, okay, yeah if you mean nothing to do under 21 (the only thing I can imagine you to mean would be to go to clubs and drink alcohol...) then I suppose so.

I have always had a pretty nonchalant attitude about the town, but ironically I always hear people that have moved from other areas of the country say they love it here. (go figure)

In the past 10 years there has been a lot of growth as far as spiritual openess. There are many new age stores, more types of churches other than christian (unitarian, scientology, unity, etc), and there is a lot of interest in natural health around here. I know it's no big city, but it is kind of cool that you have all of that, but still can get around town relatively easy and the people are nice. (although traffic is getting to be a b****)

nove- did you grow up around here, or are you from somewhere else... most people that are from the area tend to not like it as opposed to those that are used to something else... My experience anyway.

sounds like i am doing an ad for nashville. I guess I am just defending it's positives

I don't have anything against Nashville for those that like it.

When I was there it was between 1991 and 1994. I had come from southern California. It was total culture shock. There's not a lot of diversity. There is noticable racism. The music I like(d) wasn't being played on the radio. It was tough to establish rapport with people who'd never been out of the area. The kids didn't have a whole lot of things to do, so they resorted to drinking and drugs. In the Brentwood area, all the kids conformed to some area idea of how they should be (that may be the result of wealth in the area).

My parents are very happy with their decision to live there, so it may have just been my age at the time. Still, in subsequent visits while in the Navy I've always told myself, "This will be my last trip here." Amazing the emotion you can attach to a place.

Pisces are mutable like Geminis, Virgos, and Saggies. Mutables are flexable/adaptable/wishy-washy and generally don't know what they want.
