How many of you have been unable to get on to astro.com or other websites because it's listed as "Occult/New Age"? I am sick to death of this crap. Do you think these idiots know that astrology has actually been going on longer than Christianity?? They don't ban religious websites. I mean, how the f*** is astrology going to harm anyone? Sorry, but I am almost at bursting point because of this... so many people have astrlogical predjudice... it's ridiculous how they put down something so many people strongly believe in but if it were a religion in question, they'd get done for racism or something. Especially one teacher who used to work at our school.... she is absurd. She made my wicca friend take off her pentacle because she doesn't view it as a proper religion. Is there anything we can do about this? Like email these web security people about why the hell they think they have the right to ban astrology. I can't think of any logical reason right now to justify this. IP: Logged |

I'm not having any problems with the sites i frequent. Is it settings within your system? Have you recently added updates which may have changed your security settings (mine changes everytime with updates)? What web browser do you use? Could it maybe be that?seems strange. you cant get into them at all? It kinda seems like parental control sorta setting. Have you tried any sites say related to paranormal? I wonder if that sorta site is blocked as well? ima go look around some more and get back to ya on what/if i find anything. what about Norton Internet Security? I jsut found an article about restricting sites based on catagories. Occult/New Age is one of them. IP: Logged |

mnf i dont think it has to do with prejudices, just stupid antivirus settings, when mine updated my antivirus stuff, it blocked out hotmail.com (insecure connection) and Bank of FRIGGIN america ok, ('finance') i was so ****** i couldnt check my online account activity for days becoz obviously 'finance' was a risky category. in any case i think its the settings and not the intentional prejudice. It sounds to me as if she's referring to the internet on school computers, which probably do have some protections like parental control.I wonder if it matters how she tries to access the site, or whether it blocks the site no matter how she gets to it. IP: Logged |
