I am curious as to what would denote good friendships in a chart- like what aspects would you look for in synastry to determine your compatability?

Mercury/Moon/Sun....
11th house, third house, even sixth house, oddly enough....
Probably Venus and Jupiter.. trines sextile, quintiles, and a few squares and opposition thrown in for spice.

Just my guess.

If someone's Mercury falls in your third house for instance, it would be regarded as communication.. if your Sun was also in your third house, even better.
Depends on the contact between planets...
Eleventh house is friendships/groups.. so if someone had their Moon in your eleventh house, it would be emotional connection, via friendships.. to put it basically.

From my experience tootling with astro.com's Synastry feature, I've noticed it will mention stuff about "friendship" when there are strong Uranus Aspects between us, and some Aspects to Neptune.

The Uranus stuff makes for unpredictability, which in order for the relationship to work, requires giving each other lots of space to grow. This may take the edge off of an overly emotional bond, but can also break it.

With Neptune, it will say things to the effect of "idealism" which some people can be comfortable with, which can sometimes render a relationship platonic, or have those overtones.

And of course, having ones Sun, Moon, Mars or Venus in the other's 11th House seems to do it too.

Nice too "see" you again Dorkus!
