HiAs I am not an astrologer I hope someone more knowlewdgable can answer a question for me. How important is it to have the exact time of birth for someones natal chart especially in regard to their character? Do several minutes or even ten or twenty minutes make any real difference? Hope to hear from someone Cathy IP: Logged |

cathy ~I'm not an astrologer either, and I think I will remain a student until the day I die! I don't know my exact birth time. I'm a cusp-baby. I ran charts at astro.com for every 5 minutes between 1:00 and 2:00am which is as close as my mom & dad could get. At 1:40am, it just "felt right". Yes "several or even ten or twenty" minutes can make a difference -- natal planets can change houses with only a few minutes difference. If you can develop your intuition along with your astro skills, you will be able to sense if a position does not "ring true" for you (or whoever's chart you are doing, depending on how well you know them). Does that help a little? 'Zala IP: Logged |

Thanks ZalaI have a friend who was not sure of his exact birth time. And I have heard of identical twins - one gay and one straight. So it must be important IP: Logged |

Hi LaLaLinda I am really interested in peoples character. Is the ascendant important to peoples character. I had a chart for a male freind. The astrologer told me that he is basically only interested in "sexual activity" He was not sure of his time of birth, just an approximate time. That was very disappointing. Could a few minutes or ten or twenty change the interpretation of his 'basically only interest in sexual activity"? Or are the slower moving planets that are associated with this?Cathy IP: Logged |

One of the things you can do to test this yourself is to go to astro.com and enter "Noon" for the time of birth. See where everything lands. Then go back and change the time slightly, and see how much of a shift takes place. Depending, things can change drastically, or not.In this way you can see which placement changes should be taken into strong consideration, and which you will be somewhat safe with. It's one way to work with what you've got. Of course, the Asc is the most sensitive here, then the Moon. Once you learn more astrology, you'll be able to dileneate which is most true via simple observation. Another method - have the person who doesn't know their Asc read a short list of interpretations for each Asc Sign. Ask them to point to the one which speaks to them the most! Sort of work backwards. Be sure they are picking what's honestly them, rather than what they wish they were. Here's where astrology teaches us so many lessons. It's like, "Am I really a loud mouth?" (Yes, you are really a loud mouth)... hee hee ... ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |
