I've read that the following aspects could be troublesome:
Sun in Conjunction, Opposition, or Sqaure to Uranus
Sun in Opposition or Sqaure to Pluto
Mars in Opposition or Sqaure to Uranus
Uranus in Opposition or Sqaure to Pluto

Transiting planets to natal planets:

Pluto in Capricorn 12th

re: accident aspects ..

.. aspects from transiting Uranus can set the scene in one respect ..
.. in that the person could have tendency to rush about and not pay
too much attention to details .. like .. how fast is that truck approaching
as they are about to cross the road .. impulsive thoughtless actions ..
running red lights etc .. .. .. i.e. risk taking .. may be as simple as
running down the stairs .. and tripping up thru haste ..

.. i guess certain progressions may trigger an event ..
.. or make one more prone .. progressions to Urns ?

have had a recent Urns to Mars transit by square .. had a fair
number of minor accidents .. cuts .. burns etc ..

.. then again the concorde ( air france ) accident .. .. the design
was about 30 year old ( Sat return ? ) .. the pilot was mid 30s i think
.. tSat square to nSat ?) .. who knows .. maybe best not to think of it ..

.. plenty of train and air accidents in uk when Sat was transiting Gemini
.. train accidents in particular ( Gemini be uk chart .. be the turn of Leo
countries now ) ...

.. i guess in the case of Saturn transits .. it be about 'structure' .. ie if the structure be weak then it can fall apart ... even thru a small 'cause'

My charts for the particular year I'm speaking have really really struck me. You mentioned progressed charts. In mine the Asc. just moves into Pisces at 1"38'. My Sun progresses into Gemini at 17"1' and so has pretty much every other planet expect for the generational ones...

Some stressful aspects in the progressed chart itself:

Sun Opposition Uranus 3"30'
Sun Oppoition MC 2"31'
Moon Opposition Uranus 2"12'
Uranus Conjunct MC 6"01 (wide. does it still count?)

Uranus sits at the top of the chart in the 10th house in Sagittarius. The Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Chiron are all in the 4th house in Gemini. The Sun is in Conjunction to Chiron at 1"42 and Chiron is in Opposition to MC at 0"49'. Another thing that caught my eye in the chart is that my Aries N.Node progresses into the 2nd house and is at the critical degree 29"2'. In my natal chart itself the N.Node is the only thing at the critical degree. Also in the progressed chart for the seemingly intresting year - Pluto's in the 8th house in Scorpio... I'm no expert, but, I think I see plently of other interesting themes in the chart too..

My Solar Return for the year seems as if there's going to be something brewing for me as well...

.. i think for progressions ( i know little of the subject .. apart from 2 'event' observations ) .. best to look at the 'less than 1 deg ' aspects for a start .. .. i've never done a solar return chart for myself ( pure laziness ) ..

anyhow re. accidents .. .. tUrns has been squaring my nMars for a while .. recently did it again by retro movement .. .. had a period of about a week when .. seemingly .. small accidents were rife hereabouts .. dropped some crockery on stone floor .. burn't myself twice .. .. finaly did a previous injury more harm ( something 'retro' in that ) .. .. all in all .. it be moi not paying attention .. ..
.. but there be something about Urns transits that say .."'i'm going to do this regardless .. my way .. etc" .. .. and maybe not paying too much attention or giving a damn about the possible consequences of any given action .. ..
as for the progressions .. i've got n/retro/saturn .. turning direct by progression .. in 7 yrs time .. plenty of time to get paranoid about it .. .. come to think of it tPluto will be conj. desc. at that time .. .. more reasons for paranoia

maybe .. some urns/merc retro in this one ? ..
