Hi all,
I noticed when out shopping for clothes with my mum that I constantly pick up evening clothes...glizth and glamour. I live in jeans day to day (typical saggie) but I wondered what is it that makes us choose certain colours and outfits?

Would this be the Asc because of outward projection? or would it be moon..mine is a leo so that would explain my love of nighttime sparkly and quirky clothes. Or would it be the venus/mars aspect. I have both in libra which likes beauty and to present nicely....

Any thoughts?

Sparkling:-)

I love day wear because I love day time.. and night time's a bit annoying to me.. just not the best time of the day. Everyone likes to go out at night and go clubbing etc..and I hate it for some reason (i'd rather sleep at night lol though my friends wont let me have it my way) I really like day things, anything sporty, anything fun.. things that make me feel healthy and alive.. clubbing and going out at night in general makes me feel a bit strange..it's the whole environment like the smoke, the alcohol, the sleazy guys.. it's too heavy.. so I usually buy day clothes..

And my ascendant is Gemini.. actually the things I wear seem pretty gemini-ish, very light and wavy - air-sign looking.. I love those long white wavy skirts, they're my fave.

Okay, this is interesting...when i was younger I used to imagine myself always wearing 'power suits'.Perhaos my Capricoorn Asc creeping in there.

But, now I prefer to be casual in the day, jeans with a top. I love night time wear though, i have lots of going out tops, far more than day time tops. I love dancing too and going out equals sparkly and dancing. My kind of night:-)

I dont think its the asc.
it could be moon or sun , can't say for sure .
i usually prefer sober dresses , i like some very bright colours though .comfort is the main criteria ,may be thats why i prefer t-shrits to shirts .
i dont go for that power dressing things .

btw, i really do like the way some aries dress and the way they can easily carry some very unusual styles .

cancer-sun, taurus-moon, aries-asc.

Leo Moon, Aqua ASC. here... Uh, I don't know which it is really. I like to stand out, but I think it's a mix of both. YOU can catch me in bell bottoms, and holey jeans with stripey knee socks under them.... A schoolgirl outfit, retro band
t-shirts yeeeah, just about anything you can think of.

Virgo/Leo/Leo here. I do love gold and glitter, but since I hardly ever go out at night (I'm not a club person), I restrict those extravagances to accessories, costume jewelry, change purses and such. I do however have a weakness for fancy shoes, and even though I generally prefer comfortable clothing, I might wear something a little more fancy just so that I get to wear a certain pair of shoes, lol!

My first impulse is to say the VENUS plays a bigger role here, since Venus has to do with your tastes and how you attract things or people to you subliminally.

But when I look at some sources online, when it comes to a Planet they say Venus rules clothes, but as for the House, it's the 6th House (which does NOT Rule Venus).

I found this link regarding clothes in relation to only the Sun Signs. See if any of them ring true for your Sun Sign. I'm a Libra, but the descriptions for Gemini & Aquarius fit me much more accurately.

Gemini takes up most of my 1st House, because my Asc in Taurus is at 29.50 Degrees. As for Aquarius energy, that's my MC (Midheaven) and my South Node. Hmmm ... go figure ...

I have no Planets in the 11th House which Rules Aquarius, but I have my Moon in Cancer in the 3rd House, which Rules Gemini.

Try this as an experiment/study. See what House your Moon is in. Then look for the Sign that House Rules in the list below to see if it fits.

(Example: Your Moon in the 8th House, ready the description for Scorpio. Your Moon in the 10th House, read description for Capricorn.)

Which is more accurate for you?

Your Asc?
Your Sun?
Your Venus?
Or the Sign Ruled by the House your Moon is in?

"Aries
Arians are trendsetters in fashion and clothing. They have a good taste but can sometimes look ridiculous with their wears .They have liking for sexy and bold styles to draw attention towards them. For men, narrow trousers with traditional white shirt with cufflings would certainly look great and can boost their confidence. For women, the most modern look would be knee length shirt or black tight trousers with well-fitted shirt.

Taurus
Taureans buy the most expensive designer clothes but would still hang on their old clothes. Taureans generally have a muscular build. Men appreciate the subtelties of formal wear. They certainly look handsome in single breashed suit.Beige, Browns and pastel shades will suit there temperament. Women should avoid skimpy shirts and go for streamlined and sleek dresses. Traditional dresses with earthy prints look the best on them. They should avoid wearing extra large clothes in an effort to look lean.
Gemini
Gemini's dress up with no fuss.Flirtatious Gemini's do not need clothes to make a statement. Men like a contemporary twist to tradition. For casual wear, cotton pants and T-shirts is recommended which they can wear throughout the day with ease. For women, sleek lycra dress is ideal. Elegant crepe churidar-kameez can be worn for formals and semi-formals.

Cancer
Cancerians dress up according to their moods. They may fancy some item of cloth once but with the changing phase of the moon their choice and liking may shift too. In a melancholy mood they may dress up in absolute colors like black or white and the same Cancerians would like to go for bright colors when in a lighter mood. Men may feel comfortable in denim jeans and cotton shirt for informal wears. For women the main aim would be to create magic by blending fabrics like silk and cotton. They can accentuate the various fabrics with embroidery work or motifs.

Leo
Leos lives in style and wears clothes well-cut elegant and demanding attention. If and when they want they will dress up meticulously neat and other times exasperately sloppy. For men, the silk shirt and tie with single breasted suit reflect elegance for formal wears. Silk suits them the best. For women, Cargo pants/Capris with tight top to match would do better. Hand-painted fabrics with bold and vibrant colors for formal wears would make them standout from the rest of the crowd.

Virgo
Virgos are quick to spot with that prim and proper look. They wear the most revealing clothes or daring clothes and can look sensational even in casuals. For men, button down collar shirt with black tie would make most women weak in legs. For women, sleek matching pant suit would would look fantastic. The purity and sacredness of white colour add appeal to their virginal looks. Intricate handpainted designs and delicate embroidery work on dresses make them look sensational. They should avoid wearing huge or junk pieces of jewellery.

Libra
Librans are beauty conscious.Men and women both can look totally sexy and alluring in most of the dresses. Men like to follow a dress code according to the occasion.Men look handsome and charming in Nehru jacket with silk shawl as much as they look in black evening suit. They always follow contemporary fashion designs effortlessly. Women should mix the most delicate pastels pinks and blues with sleek black and grey. Hispers and long dresses look chic too.

Scorpio
Scorpios are the sexiest of all the zodiac sign. They like to show-off their intense and passionate nature through their clothes too. Men would like to wear tight T-shirts with jeans to show-off their masculinity. Italian long black suits look great on them. Women look ravishing in velvet or crepe dresses and for that stunning looks they might go for wine or black colour. Sloppy and loose shirts are to be avoided . If they want to be little adventurus can go for strapless dresses.

Sagittarius
The fiercely independent sagittarius men don't follow fashion but try to create their own style and sometimes it can be a big flop too. They can give contemporary twist to traditional designs and this would enable them to be adventurous too. They are always experimental. For women delicate shades of beige and yellow would bring that golden sunkissed glow to their face. The khaki-coloured shirts, sweaters or pants ranging from cream colour to deepest summer tan would definitely look flattering on them.

Capricorn
Capricorns like to dress casually unless they have to step in to the spot light .They do not allocate much time for improving their physical appereance. For men, casual jeans with cotton T-shirt must be an all time favourite .At the most they would replace jeans with cotton pants. In black suit tie and with that devil-may-care attitude they look unusally attrative that some women may find difficult to resist. Capricorn women may like vegetable colors and hand blockprint designs. They can try classical and sophisticated styles for romantic evenings.

Aquarius
Aquarians like to dress unconventionally for that shock value. They were made for blue blazers and gray pants & they look handsome too. Women should not go for too light or clinging dress. Long single color dresses with sequin work can be worn for that stunning look. Women may favour geometric and asymmetric cuts. They look beautiful in dark colors like black, wine or violet.

Pisces
Pisceans are simple and their clothes reflect their personality . Clothes are the extension of their sensitive and compassionate soul. They are unfettered by the latest fashion trends. Men may find the old faithful denim the ultimate in wearability. For formal wear both traditional and contemporary look is advised . For women, the colors are delicate shades of salman, turquoise, blue or green . The silk polyester blended jackets with classic cuts or kurtas/gowns in fluid shapes look bewitching on them .The focal point of fashion may be scarves or handbags."

I don't know, I live in extreme weather so no velvet dresses here
8th house moon
but I love strapless dresses, and bras and tops. I prefer spandex/lycra and smaller items, that are close fitting because of my smaller figure. I can see the drama.

This weekend, I wore a blue green silk skirt with a ruffled front split, sort of tight and long, and a loose soft off white cotton top with a nude bra. Some nights I don't wear a bra with it if it's a day party, on the beach, or with b/f.

I often do not wear a bra and let it show, I prefer to be soft sexy and feminine but simple.
During the day I wear pinks, blacks, rarely blues.

I love blue green, silk, and high heels.

I love both.

I like to dress more casual though. Must be the taurean in me I guess. Moon in my 11th house and my chiron is also in taurus.

For Day wear, Im a mix of Aqua (Sun) and Sag (Venus). I go with jeans often and I love all types of pants...of different colours but usually dark ones, ones with stripes, and different fits. I like light flowy kameez tops, so I have some air flow. I can look sporty at times, yet I cant wear a plain t-shirt on its own. I need some sorta accesssory or jacket with it.

Moon in the 11th house...Aquarius.
Umm well that's my Sun sign!

I admit I prefer not to dress in style, and I have sequins on some of my outfits. And assymetric cuts always catch my eyes.

For Evening wear I think Im more Capricorn. I like "classical and sophisticated styles"

I think I fit my Cap rising more than anything. I find dressing up VERY annoying and love it when I can get home from work/school just to get into my comfy clothes. But I DON'T like to look sloppy in public so I make sure my jeans or shirt hug my curves. I like my clothes and shoes to ALWAYS match. And I also noticed that alot of my tops are black. But I do like orange and occasionally tropical blue or magenta w/ white pants(*edit*when Im going out, and oh yeah DayDreamer, I LOOOOVE the assymetrical cuts on dress up styles, so I guess my going out style is definately 8th house/cancerian.)

Lately I've noticed I love some of the stuff Paris Hilton wears. It's my kind of fashion, except a lot more expensive..

I wonder what her asc is lol.. I really like all of those.

AJ - I read those descriptions.. None fit me for some reason. Libra's closest. My moon's in the 8th, scorpio doesn't fit, gemini doesn't, aries doesn't, capricorn doesn't

Heh! I'm like BoE, minus the striped socks! I wear Levi's, the older and more battered the better, tour shirts, and novelty shirts, like my 'Revenge of the Nerds' t-shirt with the 'Lambda,Lambda,Lambda' frat logo. One prized shirt is my Pantera shirt. It's held up for 8 years!

On special occasions, I do wear button up shirts, though with a black pair of Levi's. I'm not a fan of slacks or khakis. A black pair of Skechers I wear with either or.

My ex is a cappy with aqua rising and aqua moon. He loves his jeans. He is more of an alternative guy.

He likes clothes from like pacific sunwear, hot topic, and jnco. I love pacific sunwear!

I saw him dress casually once when we went to his father's retirement party.

He looked so delicious.

Might be his venus in saggitarius?

I dress practically.

I'm a Virgo with Cappy rising, Aries Moon.

I looked at my wardrobe a while ago and noticed nearly everything I own is blue or red.
It's strange but I really do wear old fashioned or vintage clothes. I live in jeans and have lots of neutrally stuff- blues and browns.
Then I'll also wear really odd stuff, outfits which fit in no catergory and should probably be banned from existence. I have like a paranoia about dressing conformally, like when stuff is in and everyone is wearing it, I avoid it at all costs.
But then I'll dress jeans and t shirt/jumper-ish and add a bizarre waistcoat or shoes, it just sets a strange edge to how I look.

How goes it mystic & Force? Maybe it's my Cappy moon influence with the jeans. And yes Force, I avoid the trends. Out in my area, the fashion for guys is skintight wranglers with a skoal ring, gigantic belt buckle, and a t shirt with cut off sleeves. I cringe at the thought. However, to each, their own.

Probably Virgo influence, but jewelry wise, I'm lost without a watch. I always have one on. I probably check my watch about one hundred times a day.

Hey there whalewasp, my droog.

I like the sound of your t shirts, that's how I would dress if I was a guy.
And yeah, I agree, your description of how guys down your way dress sounds horrific.
Never conform, it's damaging to your psyche.
Hey, actually, if I was a guy I might sway a bit into the Tyler from Fight Club realm of clothes. I love that suit he wears on the plane. And those shades. Cool.

Hey Force! I agree. I thought Tyler's 'business' outfits were awesome. I also liked that red leather jacket he had. That brings up my black leather jacket I've had for 3 years. I simply love the thing!

BTW, what's a 'droog'? *giving the Mr. Spock raised eyebrow*

Oh cool! Now I can add that to my vocabulary Force! I haven't seen that movie for a couple of years...."I'm singing in the rain." BAM! Unique movie.

Yea, I bought that leather jacket at a bike shop on sale. No zippers, just buttons, so it's jet black. The feature I like is it has a cadet style collar. It's in my photo album. The one outside with a raised beer in my hand.

Leather's like Levi's. When you get them broke in, they're simply too comfortable and sentimental for me to replace with new.
