Lauren, yeah I see where you're coming from I think. You think there seems to be more earth and water signs seeking harmony (the trine) and fire and air seeking challenges (the square)~

Could this have anything to so with the female/male energies with water/earth & fire/air signs, respectively? yin/yang, nightime forces vs. daytime forces, as Linda notes?

I have a preponderence of air and I do need mental stimulation in my relationshps more than anything else, but i am not competitive and I don't really like arguing, unless I trust that the other person respects my diffrence of opinions. My problem is I have a Pisces moon with a Aqua Mars - very sensitive to critism *and* too easily incensed into an intellectual fury is my ideas are attacked.

If I am comfortable with the person, then I can enjoy a lot of good-natured and humorful debating. But as a rule I hate arguing just to argue. Debating should always be for insight - either into the topic at hand or into the mind of the other person.

I am very mercurial-uranian and tend to be attacted to other Mercurials and Uranians, largely because of the mental connection.

Gem I'm similar, but me being a double virgo with the moon and venus in the 3rd. I'm with you on the need for a mental connection. I also have Merc conj Pluto & Mars in Libra. The dark side of this conjunction is I tend to be a real contrarian at times. Taking the opposing viewpoint first and then coming back around. It's really just exloring the various sides to a subject I suppose.

Mental stimulation is a requisite in any relationship (friendship or romantic)~ and I believe this to be another reason I find myself attracted to older men. Simply, they have more to say.

Hmmm...my Aqua hubby is dreading losing me because we won't be able to have heated arguments (!) - proving that Air signs' erotic zone is the mind...

I have a Fire/Air/Water approach to love, curiously though, in love I have never gone for another Fire sign. In friendship, yes (lots of Leos), but not in love - tends to be more Air/Water.
