FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS 26.50 degrees
AUGUST 20th NZ 5.52am AUST EST 3.52am GMT 5.52pm AUGUST 19th
The Full Moon is a time of completion and celebration, in Aquarius we can create new ways of thinking and being. We are given the opportunity to look at others and the world in love and as a sister/brotherhood, we are all one. We can use this loving energy to create new ways of being for ourself, moving beyond the limitations of duality and separation. Where in our own life can we create a more unified, humanitarian approach to the way we are and what we do? As we unify our greatest service to humanity is in our Being ness as we become the example of true love and acceptance of all and are free to create exciting new ways of living, working and co-creating. We create Heaven on Earth through our love and unified essence of Being.
MAYAN CALENDAR DAY; 2 (polarize, co-operation, challenge of duality) YELLOW (South - ripens, allows) AHAU (Sun, Enlightenment, unconditional love) in the 4 (foundation, definition, form) UINAL (20 days) of Stabilization ruled by the God of the Sun and Warriors. http://www.evenstarcreations.com/futureevents2005.htm

• Full Sturgeon Moon - August The fishing tribes are given credit for the naming of this Moon, since sturgeon, a large fish of the Great Lakes and other major bodies of water, were most readily caught during this month. A few tribes knew it as the Full Red Moon because, as the Moon rises, it appears reddish through any sultry haze. It was also called the Green Corn Moon or Grain Moon.

Full Moon in Aquarius

Aquarius rules the global community and also the global nervous system, which seems to be overloaded in so many ways. Do you feel like the world is perched on a time bomb ticking off the minutes toward detonation? The level of crazed thinking has exploded around the world. So many souls seem have lost touch with their basic humanity. If so, you might be wondering what can I, one small person, possibly do to have a positive effect on this precarious situation? A very Aquarian thing: radicalize your relationship to the world by accepting the power you have to affect change on a global scale. Even in the face of so much seeming powerlessness, we all need to find a way to accept the fact that we can change our world, especially if our intention is to make peace a reality in these terribly violent times.

Why is our society such a mess? Well, we all got fat and happy and forgot about sacrifice, moderation, regulation and responsibility. We just focused on ourselves, which is the big Leo trap: my story, my life, my way, my wealth, my family, my kids, my wounds, my successes…mine, mine, mine. Snap out of it! It's time we stopped convincing ourselves of our own importance and preciousness. Our failure to care about anything outside of our own little lives lies at the heart of our cultural acceptance of the two most aberrant expressions of Leo: greed and a lust for power. So let's all use this Aquarius Full Moon to get really involved in something bigger than our own stories.

This is the Full Moon to honor freedom, idealism, humanitarianism, egalitarianism, and the revolutionary impulse toward reform, without causing harm to anyone. Aquarius is the impulse to raise-up everyone and leave no one behind. So in service to these calls to action, become responsible and find out what is really happening around you. Get involved in your community, volunteer your time, and raise awareness in your neighborhood. It's summer, have a block party and raise funds for a good cause. Notice I am staying far away from personal development. Resist the seductive, narcissistic impulses of Sun/Mercury in Leo and take a step into the reality-based ego-deflating world of Saturn in Leo.

This is the Full Moon for involvement in something bigger than you. Put together an Aquarian Full Moon, a serious Saturn in Leo, and open-hearted Jupiter/Venus in Libra, and we find ourselves resting deeply in the realization that as individuals we are not the center of the universe. So, this is the Full Moon to break down the attraction to focusing only on self-growth. Selfless giving to others is the real spiritual teaching and embodiment of a true Aquarian vision of working for the collective upliftment of all sentient beings.

With Saturn and Sun in Leo we really have to reach hard to hold the Aquarian side of the Aquarius/Leo polarity. This Full Moon is the time to actively integrate these two opposing energies. You cannot have one without the other. Though Leo is the sign with the greatest attachment to knowing and creatively expressing the self, many astrologers call Aquarius the sign of individuation. This is due to the fact that Aquarian individuation goes past the Leo recognition of self to oneself: it proclaims self-knowledge to the community in the hope that this will awaken in others an awareness of their own condition. Remember that Aquarius rules the breakdown of the old ways by questioning the status quo. Those who create revolutionary change in societies are always the ones who can vision far beyond accepted beliefs and structures. In these troubled times, we all need to practice this kind of farsightedness.

This is the Full Moon to wake up, and get politically/spiritually active (two of the most powerful expressions of Uranus/Aquarius!) Remember "a government of the people, by the people and for the people"? I can hear the shouts that we have no real power. Well, we abdicated our power by clinging to a complacency that has become so common it is almost expected. Free yourselves from the lies of the spin-doctors. Let go of your complacency and urge your family and friends to join you in speaking out against injustice, impoverishment and war. Get involved in working to fix our broken healthcare system, our air/rail transportation industries, and our financial system. Wake up everyone: our nation is in deep debt once again! Worst of all our government has a compulsion toward dictatorial use of power. We need to question the authority of our government to make war upon any nation without due cause or direct threat. We need to question the authority of our government to spend billions on "security" while each day so many of its own citizens join the swelling ranks of the working poor; strapped to the max, struggling to make ends meet, and unable to afford medical care. America is asleep and it has made our nation suffer.

A wonderful example of Aquarian radicalism is the recent Fatwa Against Terrorism issued by the U.S. Muslim Religious Council. With heartfelt gratitude and congratulations I acknowledge this radical action from a group of Muslim leaders. It is about time. Here is an excerpt:

"The Fiqh Council of North America wishes to reaffirm Islam's absolute condemnation of terrorism and religious extremism. Islam strictly condemns religious extremism and the use of violence against innocent lives. There is no justification in Islam for extremism or terrorism. Targeting civilians' life and property through suicide bombings or any other method of attack is haram - or forbidden - and those who commit these barbaric acts are criminals, not "martyrs." The Qur'an, Islam's revealed text, states: 'Whoever kills a person [unjustly]…it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind.' (Qur'an, 5:32)"

Speaking spiritually, the Aquarius/Leo polarity is a bridge to enlightenment. The Leo desire to seek, to grow, to be wise and all knowing, leads us to do the hard work that is necessary to evolve our consciousness in order to achieve enlightenment. Uranus represents the enlivenment of kundalini, the life force that resides, curled up like a snake at the base of the spine. The awakening and rising of kundalini is the source of the powerful waves of ecstasy we experience during orgasm. Imagine the intensity of that force flowing all the way up the spine and searing skyward from the top of your head, awakening you to the ultimate orgasmic experience of pure consciousness: "I am that, thou art that, all this is that". Without this Uranian bridge, there is no awakening to the Neptunian/Piscean nirvanic state of enlightenment. Here's an Aquarian vision for you: creating a nation of enlightened individuals is the only means to real security. It is time to make group meditation mandatory practice in our schools and workplaces. Try making group mediation part of your Full Moon celebration, and remember to share the bliss with everyone around you.

Now more than ever, the collective needs our attention and care. This is, after all, a Full Moon; a time of gathering in groups to celebrate, teach, share, and most of all enlighten.

Was a strange night last night out in San Francisco. I go with a group that feeds the homeless on Friday nights. There was lots of shouting through the night, a knive-weilding troublemaker (didn't stay long, and wasn't allowed to cause trouble), and nearly a fight. My friend the guitarist and I tried to keep the peace with our music, but there was definitely a lot of disruptive energy there last night.

I also practically got offered a job last night. I've been talking with the guy for a few weeks about doing a different job for him, but it sounds as if he spoke to my Saggie guitarist friend and wants to create a position in his office for me.

He owns his own construction company, and I'd be his "anchor" in the office. I found it strange and comforting that he was able to pick up on my Capricornian calm. Drama and stress have an aweful hard time getting to me (even if Caps are known worriers).

I don't really know what to make of the opportunity, but I'm going to approach it from the stance that this will be the job that reveals the things I need to know career-wise to actually become successful.

It's a construction company, and SG(A) said in her thread (http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/006173-2.html) that, "you may use your physical strength to help less fortunate people....for example, working for habitat for humanity?" Seems a bit coincidental I meet this guy while doing charity work, and it's a construction company. Her thread said this too about me, "maybe you will work in dangerous jobs also, involving heavy machinery like forklifts or planes. you will be surrounded primarily by males in the jobs that you will work in." Fits.

The lessons that she mentioned that I need to learn I think will be presented there as well. Things like stability, self-discipline and developing more assertiveness.

I'm a little nervous, but also excited.
