Talking about career choices on another thread, I was wondering if calculating the Midpoint between ones Venus & ones MC (Midheaven or 10th House Cusp) would accurately portray the energy we bring best to our "dream career". Maybe it is something we already do inwardly, such as a hobby we'd love to turn into a career.I did mine and it's interesting and very accurate. Scorpio. When you go to this link and use this Midpoint Calculator, you want to look at the FIRST Sign in the results. The one labeled "NEAR". Don't worry about listing your "FAR" because "near" is more accurate for this. See what you get, post it, and what you think... is it accurate? Remember, it might not be reflective of your current career. www.noendpress.com/pvachier/midpoints/index.php ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

The midpoint between my venus virgo 8.29 degrees and my MC in pisces 13.39, is GEMINI 11.4 deg, which is conjunct my GEM south node (GEM 14 deg)~What do you gather from this AJ? IP: Logged |

amisha121877 -Just put your Venus in one box, your MC in the other (don't forget to add the Degrees under each box) - it doesn't matter which order you put them in. Results will be same. lovely* -
So you would think about the types of careers usually associated with the Sign of Gemini. Communications, publishing, broadcasting. Things involving mixing with people, or something on a very intellectual or technical scale, such as computers. Does this sound right? ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

OK, mine is in Gemini, sextile Ascendant, square Mars, trine Juno. What does that mean? -- I know, my career is as a housewife who shouldn't chop her own vegetables (Mars, i.e. accidents with sharp objects) -- Seriously though, what gives??IP: Logged |

Well - just keep this simple everyone. Don't go into anaylizing the Aspects. We are just working with a Midpoint and it's Sign. THAT'S IT ... Keep it simple.------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

OK A.J. - anyway, your answer to lovely already took care of me, and it does apply as I am interested in those areas. Thanks for this thread. It's interesting, but I wonder, why Venus and not, say, well, actually I don't know. Maybe you are right. I was tempted to say Mars, but that would, I guess, have been put into action already. Or Neptune, but then it would probably forever remain a pipe dream. I guess Venus is it. -- Hey, how about Sun and MC? Except in my case it wouldn't make much difference. But people might want to try that out too. Just a thought... IP: Logged |

yes it does resonate with me quite a bit. thanks for posting this. what's interesting is the weakest point in my chart is neptune, sag, 6th house.. which is conjunct the NN opp SN in gem, 12th. learning about that weakeness and recognizing what part of me is denying that weakness is my goal. it is also square the strongest point in my chart, jup pisces 9 house.interesting stuff for me to reflect on. thanks AJ. Leo / 9 degrees 24 minutes...Well you know what they say... "It's good to be the king!" Astrojunkie, wouldn't the house of this point be important too? Because honestly 9th house (which is Leo/9degrees) suits me just fine, and the Leo part I could give or take. IP: Logged |

Mine is Aries. What careers are associated with Aries? I guess it might mean being my own boss, doing something creative, energetic and adventurous. Sounds nice. What job is this?IP: Logged |

just on a spur - here is what i got from one site / i know it's broad but: Aries is well-suited to become a firefighter, surgeon, mechanic, dentist (watch that drill!), professional athlete and, most of all, entrepreneurs.
Taureans are well suited as bankers, artists, accountants, musicians, gardeners or any profession that requires patience and determination. Geminis are well suited as explorers, writers, merchants, translators, publicists -- even the next Oprah! Cancerians are well suited as doctors, pharmacists, teachers, nutritionists, chefs, realtors -- anywhere they can feel truly useful. Leos are well suited as managers, architects, inventors, teachers, athletes and Presidents. Virgos are well suited as chemists, doctors, investigators, nutritionists, managers and entrepreneurs -- veterinarians, too, the better to help a pup in need. Librans are well suited as diplomats, judges, public relations consultants, counselors, psychologists (no Freudian slips here!) and artists. Scorpions are well suited as doctors, investigators, ecologists, managers, engineers, navigators (of the Titanic?) and secret agents. Sagittarians are well-suited as travel agents, explorers, professors, photographers, ambassadors, import-export traders and thrillseekers. Capricorns are well suited as generals, administrators, ministers, managers, computer wizards and engineers. Aquarians are well-suited as inventors, politicians, writers, scientists, astronauts, artists and, you guessed it, astrologers! Pisceans are well suited as veterinarians, biologists, artists, doctors, musicians, psychologists and mediums.

I would also include the HOUSE where the mid-point is placed when you are examining this idea for a career...interpreting the sign along with the house TOGETHER will probably be more helpful!! GemStar

Virgo is "near" for me, and Pisces is "far". The 8th house cusp in my chart is ruled by Virgo. Pisces rules the 2nd... Is it right to assume that I'd probably be especially good at helping people or something?IP: Logged |

Ok with Sag 23deg50 (7th hs), and MC Cap 29deg25, my NEAR midpt comes out to Cap 11deg38 in the 8th house.Capricorns are well suited as generals, administrators, ministers, managers, computer wizards and engineers. 8th Hs...Scorpions are well suited as doctors, investigators, ecologists, managers, engineers, navigators (of the Titanic?) and secret agents. Still not sure what Id would love to do as a career, so this is interesting. Thanks AJ, and Amisha.

Well, my MC and Venus are the same sign: Leo (and Venus is in the 10th, to boot!). My MC/Venus midpoint is 17 Leo, directly conjunct my North Node. What to make of that, I wonder ...IP: Logged |

Hmm...my "near" one was 24 Cancer in the 11th....not at all accurate. Feeling "useful" doesn't do much for me, except make me feel like a tool and a cog, and that everyone's going to step all over me or overlook me in all my glory and greatness. Right now I'm a sub teacher, and I f'ing HATE it for all those reasons. ANd forget anything to do with motherhood - I wish I was sterile. I have a morbid adversion of infants and I think pregnancy and childbearing is gross. (I say this in all honesty, but I do not think it's particaulrly flattering of myself, I admit. It's just how I am.)The "far" one - 24 Cap in 5th does make a lot more sense, as far as my "dream" career. I desire esteem and respect for what I do, I want to be in charge (at least of myself), and I want to have fun and be creative. I want to be a f'ing creative genius, and to be hailed as one, OK? Nothing less. LOL. My dream career would involve being successful and recognized in one of my areas of creative interests - writing, music or painting. Preferably all three (eventually), but I'll start with one for now. IP: Logged |

Who's Warren Buffet? lol (I honestly only know the name, not what it represents)My midpoint is Capricorn. Didn't really need a calculator for that as there's only one sign between my Venus and MC. What are we good at? Being acoustic gods (i.e. Jimmy Page, Dave Matthews)? Being outrageous while maintaining a little depth(Howard Stern, Jim Carrey)? All those other careers [Amisha] listed look pretty good, though boring. I think ultimately for me I have to find expression for all the things I'd like to do, because there are quite a few of them. Acoustic,Warren Buffet is the number 2 richest man in USA (maybe the world). Number 1 is of course... Billy Gates. Buffet is an investing genius and he has never put a product to market that I know of. He is strictly a speculative investor (stocks, bonds, etc...) IP: Logged |
