Does anyone know what sign each planet is exalted in?

And also, can the planets be exalted in certain houses? It seems like there should be a system for that if not.

Moon
exalted: Taurus
dignified: Cancer
fall: Scorpio
detriment: Capricorn.

Mercury
exalted: Aqua
dignified: Gemini
fall: Leo
detriment: Sag

Venus
exalted: Pisces
dignified: Taurus/Libra
fall: Virgo
detriment: Scorpio

Mars
exalted: Cap
dignified: Aries/Scorpio
fall: Cancer
detriment: Libra

Jupiter
exalted: Cancer
dignified: Sag
fall: Cap
detrmient: Virgo/Gemini

Saturn
exalted: Libra
dignified: Cap/Aqua
fall: Aries
detriment: Cancer/Leo

Uranus
exalted: Scorpio
dignified: Aqua
fall: Taurus
detriment: Leo

Neptune
exalted: Cancer
dignified: Pisces
fall: Cap
detriment: Virgo

Pluto:
exalted: Leo
dignified: Scorpio
fall: Aqua
detriment: Taurus

As for exalted house systems, I've never encounteres one. I'd guess that the planet would be exalted in the house ruled by the sign in which its exalted. Example, Pluto is exalted in Leo/5th house.

Thanks for the info.

Could you explain the last part again because I didn't understand the pluto part.

By my way of thinking pluto would be exalted in the 8th house, jupiter in the 9th house, Mars in the first house, neptune in the 12th etc...

what do you think?

What do all of these mean -exalted, dignified, fall, and detriment?

------------------
Sun in Capricorn, Moon in Virgo, Asc. in Gemini.
When left to my own devices, you'll find I'm full of surprises - Me

I was going off on a tangent in the example. I was wondering if say Pluto is exalted in Leo, than it would be exalted if it was located in the 5th house since that's the houe ruled by Leo. On the otehr hand, I do agree that Pluto would be strong in the 8th and the 1st, as those are the houses of Aries and Scorpio its traditional rulers.

Acoustic, these are the most harmonious signs for the planets to be in. An example of the reasoning is that moon (emotion) in taurus (earthy, steady) would indicate that a persons emotions would be steady and not prone to flareup or exageration.

the logic applies to all of the planets, like Pluto (power) in Leo, Leo has an innate sense of fairness, justice and is generally not an malicous sign. so power is expressed well in the sign of Leo.

you guys need to go over to the free astro forum and check out rulerships.

It is every bit as important to delineate a planets strength by house as well as sign, which would include house exaltations/detriments/home/fall

planet soul add Pisces to the list as a co-ruler of Jupiter.

Peace out

>>> my question , what does this mean ?
The more the planets derive strength the more favor/benefits/stengths it imparts.
You will have for yourselves, the universe in those zones, with out much effort.

Pay attention to Saturn and its placement. That is one of the most important in any horoscope. Saturn basically destroys any house/signs it occupies. There are exceptions, though.

I'm a Cap (saturn ruled), and my Saturn is in the 1st in Gemini. Is it really going to destroy me? Just my ego maybe? Doesn't seem to have dampened my ascendant.

Saturn destroys each house except 8th house where it imparts long life. Well not all astrologers agree on that.

Saturn does not necessarily destroys but should be considered as to impart longevity.

Is 1st house Gemini your ascendant? It could mean you had a unhappy childhood.
Are you also playing a leadership role?

Check if the lord of the 4th or 10th is Gemini (your ascendant). If it is, it is fortunate.

Sun is - exalted Aries
dignified - Leo
detriment - Aquarius
fall - Libra

Also for the double ruled planets..like Mercury, apparently it's also dignified in Virgo and detriment in Pisces. Venus is detriment in both Scorp and Aries.. and Jupiter, for detriment it said Virgo/Gemini but for dignified it was only Sag (Gem's opposite)..as far as I know Jupiter's dignified in Pisces as well..and if it isn't Virgo shouldn't be detriment.

My Sun/Mars are exalted. Moon/Mercury in detriment. Venus could either be diginified in Taurus or detriment in Aries..it's on the 29th deg and no Aries interpretation suits me for Venus. . and Jupiter and Pluto are dignified.

Mercury is the ruler of my Asc..in my life I've used my wits a lot more than my sheer strength (mars) and it's gotten me a lot further..even though my Mars is exalted and my Merc detriment theoretically..so I'm not convinced this works so well in practice.

Also when you actually look at it, some of them seem so completely out of place..like Scorpio Venus being in detriment. I mean Scorpio Venus is just about the most attractive placement in my opinion. Or Aqua suns.. Aquas are every friendly, sociable..there's nothing out of place or wrong, that I can see, that would make an Aqua sun detriment (which sounds like a negative). Maybe the actual interpretations for dignified, fall, exalted, detriment should be quite different to the black and white picture those "terms" paint.. but a lot of your typical interpretations ARE very black and white.. so exalted/dignified is portrayed as good and fall/detriment is bad with no shades of grey.

Another one I hate reading about is Capricorn moon in detriment. Gosh some interpretations make it sound like it's the worst placement in the world and it only brings problems. I don't really understand how it's worse to have a Capricorn moon (moon detriment) than to be an Aqua sun (sun detriment) by this rule. My emotions run deep and I'm definitely not light hearted in that area..but some of the typical things they say like "problems with mother", 'the mother was not there or was cold" or "really bad childhood" IS TOTAL BULL, in my life anyhow..because I love my mum and we've alsways been close. One astrologer (who was a bit of an a-whole) said "omg Cap moon in the 8th, house of death..I'm surprised you even have a mum" .. which really bothered me. So basically I think this detriment, dignified thing gets blown out of proportion and taken out of context and a lot of times it isn't accurate.

What I do believe it should mean..is that because the planet is in a sign where it doesn't feel at home, there's a discrepancy between the usual way those planets energies are expressed and the twisted way you might express them. For instance with Aries/Scorpio Venus, the way you express love could be A LOT more sexual than it should be (seeing as though they're mars/pluto signs).. which doesn't have to be a bad thing, a lot of times it could be a good thing. It just isn't the norm.. because the norm astrologically speaking would be for your Mars/Pluto to express themselves sexually and Venus to express itself romanticaly (sweet lovey dovey like it is in Libra/Taurus, not sexual)

A lot of people take it to mean BAD/GOOD and I don't think that's a proper explanation for it. For the person involved it could either be challenging or easy.. Venus in scorpio might be challenging to express without feeling a bit odd or guilty over it because you might feel that's not really the way you should express it.. and that could create tension for you. But in relation to other people, any of those placements could be great..So for certain interpretations to say "Scorpio venus is TOO sexual and not a good placement for this planet" raises the question not a good placement for whom?.. Because like I said the person with the placement might feel a bit uneasy with it..but the person's lovers or friends might LOVE that placement and think it's great to express your love sexually.

Or Mercury being detriment in Sag..again you might feel uneasy with the way you express yourself and the way you think..because the planet's energies and the sign (gemini - sag) don't really mash BUT this doesn't have to mean.. you're not intelligent or eloquent or witty.. Other people (depending on their own placements) might see you as very witty, intelligent. It also doesn't mean you won't do well accademicaly. My Merc's in pisces and I'm studying law. It really depends on other factors in the chart as well.
