Excuse me one moment, while I stumble around without my contacts and a live brain cell in my head. This sounds so very stupid but here is my question. When someone says that two aspects are conjunct, does it follow that they must be in the same sign. For example if your Venus is at 29 Degrees TAURUS and someone's Chiron is 2 Degrees ARIES. Are they conjunct because they are only separated by two degrees or are all bets off because they are two different signs??? Sorry lame I know but my spaciness on that is irritating me. LOL. ?? No, the orb of a conjunction allows two conjunct planets to be in different signs. Like 29 degrees aries and 1 degrees taurus is still a conjunction.IP: Logged |

OOP i might have spoken too soon... two planets dont need to be in the same house to be conjunct, thats for sure. but im second guessing whether they need to be in the same sign or not. better wait for a second opinion on that. IP: Logged |

no, you can definitely have a conjunction in two different signs- it's all about the degrees, babyIP: Logged |

Yuppers! It's still a conjunction, but with the flavor of the semi-sextile as well - i.e., missing each other's points sometimes...a slight feeling of frustration. The planet in the next sign tends to pull the other one forward. This type of contact helps the person with earlier planet "graduate" into the next sign. Another thing...planets in later degrees of a sign will likely progress into the next sign quite early on in life. It's interesting to compare progressed charts to natal charts, in synastry as well as within one's own natal chart. IP: Logged |

and here is concrete evidence: "While conjunctions are often found within the same Sign, they can also fall within adjacent Signs. For example, Mars at 27 degrees Gemini is conjunct Venus at 1 degree Cancer. Here we see an orb of influence of 4 degrees. As with all Aspects, the more exact the angular measurement, or specificity of the orb, the more intense the energy. Therefore, a conjunction at 0 or 1 degrees would be much more powerful than one at 4 degrees." ( from astro.com )IP: Logged |
